Variety  is reporting  Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez are starring in a remake of the romantic comedy “Overboard.” Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell , and Edward Herrmann starred in the 1987 original directed by Garry Marshall. Hawn played a selfish heiress who got amnesia when she fell off her yacht and Russell portrayed a carpenter who ultimately fell in love with her. The remake will be co-directed and written by Rob Greenberg (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Bob Fisher (“We’re the Millers”). Ben Odell and Derbez will produce through their 3Pas Studios. MGM partnered with Pantelion Films to co-produce, co-finance, and co-distribute the film, with Lionsgate handling domestic theatrical distribution. Production stars this May in Vancouver. The original movie will be re-imagined with a reversal of the leading roles. Death Waltz Recording Company & Back Lot Music will release the soundtrack album for Focus World’s Raw , written and directed by Julia Ducournau, it was announced today. The soundtrack includes new music from composer Jim Williams. Death Waltz Recording Company, a division of Mondo, will release the soundtrack physically with gorgeously disturbing artwork by Candice Tripp and design by Jay Shaw, while Back Lot Music, a division of Universal Pictures, will release digitally, day- and-date with the film’s domestic release on March 10th. Death Waltz will also release the vinyl version, with pre-order available on March 10th as well. THR is reporting Disney is exploring the idea of a movie that would act as a Leto vehicle. Disney is planning to get back on the grid. The studio is in the very early stages of development for a new Tron movie, with Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto circling to star. Sources say this new project is not a direct sequel and is being built out of the source code of the deleted Tron 3 script. Leto would play a character named Ares , who has not appeared on screen before but was a key player in that script. No writer has been hired at this exploratory stage, and no filmmaker is involved. Justin Springer, who co-produced Tron: Legacy and exec produced the Tom Cruise sci-fi movie Oblivion, will produce. Leto and and his producing partner Emma Ludbrook would also be involved in some producing capacity if the project moves forward.
