BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Dwayne Johnson To Star In Jungle Cruise

Welcome to the jungle, Dwayne Johnson . The actor has closed a deal to star in Jungle Cruise , Disney’s live-action adaptation of its iconic theme park ride. Johnson has found room in his busy schedule, slotting the movie in for a spring 2018 start of production. Beau Flynn, Johnson’s frequent collaborator who has worked with the actor on movies such as San Andreas, is also in negotiations to produce via his Flynn Picture Co. shingle. Jungle Cruise is one of the Disneyland’s original rides and takes park-goers on a journey through a range of leafy settings such as Africa’s Nile and Congo rivers as well as South America’s Amazon. Cruise has had Johnson attached since 2015, but the project was still in deep development and went through several drafts by several writers (J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay wrote the most recent draft) while Johnson filmed movies such as Central Intelligence and Sony's Jumanji re-imagining. With the script looking more solid, Johnson was ready to sl

New #Furious8 Poster

Back in January, Vin Diesel did his usual social media promotion duty and put up the first poster from the eighth Fast & Furious film online, which listed it as Fast 8 . He's back with the new image, which appears to switch the title to Furious 8, while also making us wonder if they're just unveiling the full title word by word... We suppose it makes sense to follow the naming standard set by the seventh film, but it does rather crush our dream of future movies simply taking bits of the title and using them (And 9, anyone?) Regardless, Furious 8 (or whatever it ends up being known as over here) has F. Gary Gray directing Vin and the returning regulars (including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Dwayne Johnson) facing off against new villain Charlize Theron in a story that remains a mystery to be discovered a quarter mile at a time. We do know that Kurt Russell's mysterious Mr. Nobody will be back, bringing protege Scott Eastwood along for the ride.

San Andreas Sequel Might Be On It's Way

THR is reporting New Line and Dwayne Johnson want to make the earth move for you one more time. The company has hired Neil Widener and Gavin James to write a sequel to San Andreas , the Johnson-starring earthquake disaster movie that grossed over $473 million worldwide last year. A good chunk of the team is due to return for the second installment. Johnson is swinging back to the sequel as is producer Beau Flynn, producing via his Flynn Picture Co. banner. Brad Peyton, who directed the movie, is also returning. The 2015 movie saw Johnson as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot who teams up with his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) to save their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) when a series of quakes crush Los Angeles and San Francisco. Gugino, Daddario and Paul Giamatti, who played a seismologist, are also expected to return. (Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore as well as Carlton Cuse wrote the original's script.) Plot details for the new installment are being sheltered

Since He Cant Have Justin Lin, He Wants Rob Cohen To Direct #FURIOUS8

Back to the matter of 8 … First and most importantly is the SCRIPT, which has to be great. Hopefully the writer will deliver something within the next two weeks… before my Witch Hunter press tour begins. There has always been the desire by Paul to have Rob direct one more, this is what fueled my campaign… I believe that he can and would reset the franchise nicely, returning to what was the core of the film in the beginning… racing. He would also handle the Brian O’connor issue with integrity, given that he and David Ayer were the ones who initially created that beloved character in the first place. Ultimately we all want the best film to honor what we have created and what you the audience has adopted as your favorite franchise. I will leave this matter in the studios hands for a moment while I release The Last Witch Hunter and start production of the long awaited “Xander Returns”. Again, we make these films with Our hearts. Movie Review: 'San Andreas'

San Andreas is big, loud, summer disaster fun, but is that enough to see it? Review by Matt Cummings Disaster films are always best viewed with the most minimum of expectations: make it big, make it loud, and hope all of the tearful goodbyes aren't too wincing. And although the human drama and the science behind Director Brad Peyton's San Andreas isn't great, the action is superb and performances good enough to warrant you take a chance. The LA Fire and Rescue helicopter pilot Ray (Dwayne Johnson) is a hulking figure whose professional accomplishments in Afghanistan and LA are overshadowed by the constant reminder of loss. One of his daughters perished in a rafting accident, which led to a painful divorce that his soon-to-be ex-wife (Carla Gugino) was forced to accept. Since then, Emma has moved in with a well-to-do architect (Ian Gufford), while Ray saves a young woman after an avalanche near LA. This seemingly small event peaks the interest of a Cal Tech

CinemaCon: 'Furious 8' to be Released in 2017

Learn why the announcement comes as no surprise. Story by Matt Cummings Furious 7 has been an unqualified hit, no matter how you slice it. The death of Actor Paul Walker in 2013 nearly ended the franchise as Universal struggled to re-shoot portions of the film with Director James Wan. When it finally released on April 3rd, the high-flying car caper drew huge crowds but not overly positive critical reviews. In fact, fans themselves could make a claim that it's the weakest since the original trilogy. Even if such suggestions spark fierce debate among moviegoers, the film has surpassed the $1.1 billion mark, and has made over $300 million domestically. That's a win no matter how you slice. Part of its success was the film's poignant ending, showing Walker's character Brian O'Conner driving off into the sunset as his partner Dom (Vin Diesel) looked on. And even with that teary-eyed ending, its amazing performance dictated that a sequel be considered.

Movie Review: Furious 7

Filled with high-octane stunts and likable additions, Furious 7 roars to a tearful tribute. WARNING: This review contains SPOILERS. Review by Matt Cummings It goes without saying that Furious 7 has been on the minds of every moviegoer since Actor Paul Walker tragically died in 2013. Among the many questions raised was how Director James Wan would find closure for a character that wasn't supposed to die. With a frantic script re-write resulting in an extension of the release date now in its rear-view mirror, audiences this weekend get to judge whether Universal made the right decision to move forward instead of cancelling the project as some have suggested. And while it's not as effective as other entries, this one will delight audiences with its purely over-the-top action, new characters, and a touching tribute to Walker. With Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) defeated in London, Team Furious doesn't realize that Shaw's meaner brother Deckard (Jason Statham) h

Dwayne Johnson To Voice Maui In Disney's "Moana"

The CG-animated comedy-adventure comes from “ The Little Mermaid ” team of Ron Clements and John Musker Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in talks to voice Maui , a demi-god who aids a young girl on a nautical adventure, in Disney's “ Moana ,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap . “Moana,” a CG-animated comedy-adventure from “The Little Mermaid” team of Ron Clements and John Musker, is set in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania. Hercules Review: Solidly Entertaining Summer Fare

Dwayne Johnson's Hercules is simply enjoyable, but check your expectations at the door. Director Brett Ratner gets so little respect these days, and who can blame us? After the disastrous X-Men: The Last Stand sent the franchise to ground until 2011, he hasn't exactly won us over with other tripe like Tower Heist . So, it's with a great sigh of relief that I can say Hercules is a highly entertaining, suitably grand, and a well-paced historical action piece, so long as you check expectations at the door. The son of Zeus, Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) has made a name for himself, completing the Seven Labors set forth by a jealous Hera and attaining the title of demi-god. But his achievements hide a deep secret. One of them is that he had help in his labors - among them the warrior Autolycus (Rufus Sewell), the seer Amphiaraus (Ian McShane), and the Amazon Atalanta (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal). His travels eventually take him to the kingdom of Thrace where King Cotys (Joh
