Aaron Sorkin To Direct And Write John Edwards Film Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has acquired the rights to the Andrew Young book about former presidential candidate John Edwards , " The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down ." A TV and film mainstay, Sorkin will make his feature directorial debut with the project, which he will also write and produce. Young first volunteered for the Edwards Senate campaign in 1998 and eventually became one of the North Carolina pol's most trusted confidants. During the 2008 presidential primary, Edwards began making unethical demands of Young relating to the candidate's mistress and her child with him. Young's book was published by Thomas Dunne Books earlier this year. He-Man Might Have Found A New Home This movie keeps going back and forth,it's going to get made it's not. Let's hope that this is going to be the last stop for this film and get made. Just weeks after “ Masters of the Universe” parted ways with Warner Bros., the Mattel toy property is in negotiations to be preemptively picked up by Columbia with Escape Artists attached to produce. After months of deal-wrangling, Warners picked up “Universe” in 2007, hiring several writers and earlier this year set John Stevenson to direct. The two companies eventually began seeing two opposing visions for the movie and when the option came up, both sides decided to let it lapse. The 1980s show, named “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” followed a blond warrior named Prince Adam who, when uttering the magic words, "By the power of Grayskull -- I have the power," turned into the heroic He-Man. Finally a Firm Release Date For The Green Hornet While at Comic Con this year you got the First look at the Green Hornet Car. Those waiting to be stung by “The Green Hornet” will have to wait a little bit longer. Columbia’s adaptation of the crime-fighting hero starring Seth Rogen has been pushed back from a July 9 release date to a Dec. 17 2010 unveiling. This is the second move for the flick, which originally was scheduled for a June 25 opening. Production on “ Hornet ” began production in Los Angeles this week, a little later than anticipated. Stephen Chow was originally tapped to act as director and as the character of Kato but stepped down as director. Michel Gondry boarded as helmer in February and then during the casting process, which saw Cameron Diaz and Nicolas Cage join the cast, Chow exited the Kato role as well.
