BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Bohemian Rhapsody Rocked The Box-Office

After years lingering in development limbo, and hit by controversy over the firing of director Bryan Singer, Bohemian Rhapsody has arrived with a strong launch at the US box office, earning $50 million for its first weekend. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Movie Review ' Bloody brilliant biopic'- The biopic charting the rise of rock supergroup Queen and charismatic, boundary-pushing lead singer Freddie Mercury also did well internationally, for a worldwide total of $141 million so far – a good result for the $50 million spent making it. And it was a much more successful film filled with music than Disney's The Nutcracker And The Four Realms. Despite looking to counter-programmer and take aim at a family audience, the fantasy film seemed more like a lump of coal than an early Chrimbo treat, landing with just $20 million. Which might seem like a chunk of change, but given its $120 million budget (before marketing costs), that's not a good start and a rare miss for the Mouse Hous

Halloween Kills At The Box Office

In true Michael Myers fashion, the new Halloween slaughtered the competition at the Stateside box office this weekend. The return of The Shape (and Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode) saw an October record-breaking $77.5 million, another winner for the Blumhouse team. To be fair, the new horror didn't have any wide release competition, but it easily saw off the returning likes of A Star Is Born (which stayed in second place with $19.3 million) and Venom (finally deposed from the top spot, slipping to third with $18.1 million). Rounding out the top five we have First Man , which has continued to underperform, dropping a couple of places and adding $8.5 million. The Hate U Give expanded its screen count and rose in the charts to sixth, grabbing $7.5 million, that put it ahead of Smallfoot in seventh, with the yeti animated comedy earning $6.6 million. Night School fell to eigh

Venom Takes Down The Competition For The Second Week

It might chronicle the mighty effort to land humans on the moon, but First Man couldn't rocket past the two big current success stories at the American box office. Venom , in particular, is confounding the negative critical response and earning well, taking in $35.7 million this weekend, according to studio estimates. The Tom Hardy –starring comicbook pic has so far made more than $142 million in the US and has crossed $378 million worldwide in just a couple of weeks on release, which likely means the sequel talks are already starting. And the top two stayed the same, as A Star Is Born continued to perform, adding $28 million as it roars towards $100 million (which it should cross this coming week). First Man , meanwhile, had to settle for one small step as it launched third, taking in $16.5 million. Still, opening more in line with expectations was Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween , kicking off its box office run with a less-than-thrilling $16.2 million. Smallfoot fell to f
