Having found his fame through a reality cooking show, the now dead chef was on the upswing of a promising career. Being seasoned veteran detectives Danny and Maria find the convenience of the confession to good to be true; so they continue looking under rocks for clues. Blue Bloods S05E19 Recap: Through The Looking Glass

Blue Bloods: Time To Let It Go? Story by David Clark Blue Bloods season five has been a series of one-and-done episodes. With the season finale looming only a short four weeks away, it might be time to throw in the towel for any chance of a season building story arch. That said, season five has not been all bad. This season has seen hostage situations in a police precinct, wild gunfights, dangerous stakeouts, and high speed chases. It has definitely been enough to keep fans of the series coming back. The season opened with over 10 million viewers. Mid-season the show peaked at a little over 12 million and the most recent episode dipped back down into the 10 million viewer range. The dip in ratings might be more from the shows recent sporadic breaks than from a lack of interest. Whether the show will receive a sixth season remains to be seen but regardless, fans of the series should tune-in for the last couple episodes of season five. This week Blue Bloods focused o

Blue Bloods S05E18 Recap: Bad Company

Why Is Sorry Not Enough This Week? Story by David Clark This week on Blue Bloods guest star Amelia Rose Blaire, best known for her time on True Blood , should win an award from the show producers for best moment of the season. When Frank Reagan was a younger cop he was lead detective on a case in which a family was brutally murdered. The only survivor of the murders was a young girl. When the murderer was finally found Frank put a bullet in him but did not kill him. Fast forward to present day and the young orphaned girl is now a fully grown woman named Sarah Grant. Sentenced to life in prison the man who murdered Sarah’s family contacts her by letter a few short days before Sarah is supposed to be married. Having viewed Frank as a father figure growing up because he saved her life, Sarah turns to him when the killer asks to meet. Interestingly the process depicted on this episode whereby an imprisoned offender can request to meet with a victim is a real thing in

Blue Bloods S05E17 Recap: Occupational Hazards

To Trust Or Not To Trust Story by David Clark Blue Bloods this week focused on: Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan), Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan), Donnie Wahlberg (Det. Danny Reagan), Will Estes (Officer Jamie Reagan), Vanessa Ray (Officer Eddie Jenko), Marisa Ramirez (Det. Maria Baez), and guest starring David Shumbris (John Johanssen) and Phyllis Somerville (Beth). Occupational Hazard was a fitting name for this episode though a name like Momentum might have suited it even better. The episode opens with a slow conversation between Commissioner Frank Reagan and his granddaughter. Once the episode lulls the audience into believing it is another slow episode the explosions, shootouts, and mayhem take center stage. This week’s episode was themed with an ethical quandary. Is it healthier to assume the best of people and risk being disappointed or is it safer to assume the worst from people and leave room for surprise? This was highlighted most emphatically when Commissioner

Blue Bloods S05E16 Recap: In The Box

Someone Faces A Life Threatening Situation. Find Out Who! Story By David Clark Police stations are usually considered one of the safest places a person can be, but Blue Bloods turns that concept upside down on this week's episode titled In The Box. In an episode that could have been inspired by the movie Phone Booth; the majority of the episode follows a life threatening hostage situation involving Danny and Baez. Meanwhile Frank and Jamie face issues of their own as Jamie combats a poor communities fear of police and Frank tries to find a line between being a friend, mentor, and commissioner. This episode guest stars Dominic Fumusa as Anthony Drake and Jessica Blank as Heather Drake. Recap: Danny and Baez open the episode serving a soon-to-be divorced man (Anthony Drake) with a restraining order. Desperate to retain custody of his daughter Anthony pulls a gun on Baez inside of the police precinct. This is no John Q. situation; this man is a troubled alcoholic and

Blue Bloods Season 5: Episode 14 Recap - The Poor Door

Story By David Clark The main plot of this episode opens with Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his partner Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigating the murder of a young man found in an affluent residential building. Reagan and Baez learned that the young man was dating the daughter of a very wealthy resident. This girl’s father did not like the relationship developing between his daughter and the young man. Through the investigation it became clear that the girl’s father was the one responsible for the young man’s death. The father had hired an old associate to kill the boy so that his daughter could not continue the relationship. Unfortunately for Danny Baez the father covered up the murder well and they could not prove his involvement. Baez shared what information the investigation had brought to light with the heart broken daughter. When the man’s daughter learned of her father’s actions she was stunned. Shortly after learning the news of her fathers involve

Blue Bloods S05 E12 Recap: Home Sweet Home

Issues continue with Season 5's latest premiere. Review by David Clark In its second episode back from mid-season break the family oriented police drama is back this week with another show. In the 5th season Blue Bloods is still entertaining but as things progress there appears to be a lack of clarity. In previous seasons an over-arching plot has helped drive the narrative from one show to the next. This plot line usually leads up to a satisfying conclusion by the end of the season. The current season has yet to establish that episode connecting plot leaving the audience with somewhat compartmentalized episodes. This week’s episode opens up with Jamie Reagan and his partner Officer Jenko entering a bank in response to a call about a homeless person scaring customers in front of a bank. When they discover the homeless person is just a kid they decide to help. Unfortunately the kid takes off and they have to chase him down. When they finally catch the homeless ch
