Peter Jackson & Steven Spielberg Talk Tin Tin

A highlight of day 3 at Empire Presents... Big Screen came in the adventuresome shape of The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn clips. Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg recorded a special message, reminiscing together about their first ever meeting: yup, on stage at the Oscars. As you do. Spielberg elaborated on the origins of their partnership: “When I’d finally got a [Tintin] story I was happy with, and the beginnings of a script, I wanted a feasibility study to see if I should do the movie in live action. I need a CG Snowy for this so I went to Peter’s company, Weta Digital.” Jackson took up the tale, explaining how he’d asked Weta's team to rustle up a Captain Haddock costume, before donning the threads himself and acting out some scenes on the Weta back-lot. “I couldn’t think of anyone better to play Captain Haddock than me," laughed the director. The CG Snowy was added and the footage sent to the set of War Of The Worlds. “I immediately forgot Snowy,”

Cue the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” theme – Steven Spielberg is coming to Comic-Con. The Oscar-winning director who ushered in the blockbuster film era with “Jaws” and brought sci-fi to the masses with movies such as “E.T: the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “Minority Report,” will make his first appearance at Comic-Con International when he takes the stage in Hall H July 22. The 64-year-old filmmaker will receive an Inkpot Award, which has been presented since 1974 to signature figures in comics and genre entertainment, among them Ray Bradbury, Jack Kirby, Hayao Miyazaki and R. Crumb. Edgar Wright's Next Project An Ant-Man Film? I am not sure if any of you out there have heard of this character. Edgar was in L.A. last week, we sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting ' Scott Pilgrim ,' so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we'd start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after The Avengers. Here is the Ant-Man origin story: Early Life: Scott Lang was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He turned to burglary when his occupation as an electronics expert failed to support his family.
