Everybody's Talking About Jamie 'Max Harwood Brings This Role To Life'

Mortal Kombat Returning To The Big Screen Thanks To Tancharoen

Mortal Kombat is heading back to the big-screen. New Line is hiring the filmmakers of the popular Mortal Kombat digital series , made earlier this year by corporate sibling Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, to take on a new adaptation of the classic 1990s fighting game. The movie deal marks the end of a journey for Kevin Tancharoen , who will direct the new film. Tancharoen, a choreographer for Madonna and Britney Spears who directed the 2009 remake of Fame and more recently the Glee concert movie, directed a short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth as a proof of concept for a Kombat movie he tried to pitch. A huge fan of the video game (and knowing Hollywood wouldn’t give him a shot at the title), he enlisted Oren Uziel to write the short and hired actors such as Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan . The short was viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube, and although no movie deal materialized, he was asked to direct the 10-episode web series, which debuted in April, attracting mor

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Scorpion & Sub Zero Part 1

The next chapter in Mortal Kombat: Legacy is the story of Scorpion & Sub-Zero . Ah the only down side about this video is that they don't cast actual Japanese actors. It just sounds to forced when they talk. Episode 7: "Scorpion and Sub Zero (Part 1)" Hanzo Hasashi , better known as the warrior Scorpion , is summoned to meet with the Shogun of Kumamoto Castle. While traveling, the fearless General of the Shirai Ryu clan encounters his mortal enemy, Sub-Zero . Scorpion realizes too late that this trap has led him away from his village and family, leaving them without means to defend themselves. He knows that he must defeat Sub-Zero and return to his village before it is too late The following episode represents director Kevin Tancharoen's "different take on the Mortal Kombat universe," combining the perfect amount of gritty realism mixed with a hint of mysticism... Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 6 "Raiden"

The next chapter in Mortal Kombat: Legacy  is the story of Raiden . The following episode represents director Kevin Tancharoen's "different take on the Mortal Kombat universe," combining the perfect amount of gritty realism mixed with a hint of mysticism... When Lord Raiden, God of Thunder and protector of Earth, finds himself in an earthly mental institution in the year 2011, his 'delusions' are treated with some rather primitive forms of therapy (involving an ECT machine and an ice pick). Nonetheless, Blue, his beautiful, fragile yet insane fellow inmate, is Raiden's only hope of escaping the mental hospital and making his way to the Mortal Kombat tournament to defend Earthrealm from Shao Khan. Get back to the live action. If you missed the first episode you can watch it HERE . Kitana and Mileena have grown up thinking that they are sisters, yet have grown apart over the years. Despite Mileena's growing resentment towards Kitana, Shao Kahn uses them to destroy all who threaten his rule. Shao Kahn, Emperor of the Outworld, has tricked Shang Tsung into becoming his servant for Mortal Kombat by making him clone Mileena as a Tarkatan clone of Kitana, out of Shao Kahn's fear that Kitana wouldn't love him enough if she ever found out the truth about her Mother and Father. Mortal Kombat "Rebirth" Trailer

Mortal Kombat "Rebirth" Trailer Speculation has run rampant today with the debut of a short " Mortal Kombat " film (subtitled " Rebirth ") that made its way anonymously to YouTube. Now, Latino Review reports that the film is, as many theorized, a test for a potential R-rated film reboot of the video game franchise. If this film doesn't get made after this trailer then someone in Hollywood needs to go down! The short is directed by Kevin Tancharoen , the director of last year's Fame, and features a cast that includes name actors like Michael Jai White (Jax), Jeri Ryan (Sonya Blade), Matt Mullins (Johnny Cage), Lateef Crowder (Baraka) and Ian Anthony Dale (Scorpion) with fight choreography by Larnell Stovall. Though there is no guarantee that these actors will play the characters in a feature film version or even that a feature film will actually happen, the short is already a huge success online.
