Zombies vs. Vampires Coming To NBC

Zombies vs. Vampires Coming To NBC This a title that would certainly score big with the Comic-Con crowd. NBC has closed a deal for Zombies vs. Vampires , a spec script by Jake in Progress creator/executive producer Austin Winsberg. I hear NBC bought preemptively the project, produced by Warner Bros. TV and McG's studio-based Wonderland production banner. Zombies vs. Vampires is described as a "fun buddy cop procedural." It is set in a world where zombies are a part of society, controllable with medication. The show's two leads (one secretly a vampire) are cops assigned to a squad specifically formed to deal with "zombie crime". Winsberg, McG and Peter Johnson are executive producing. For those who haven't read Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur in a while, the end of King Arthur's life saw him discover that BFF Lancelot had been at it with Guinevere, leading to a schism between the two which allowed bad seed Mordred to usurp Arthur's throne and go to war against his King. Stephen Sommers To Return For G.I. Joe Sequel

Stephen Sommers To Return For G.I. Joe Sequel " G.I. Joe " director Stephen Sommers will return to direct Paramount's sequel. There had been some doubts about whether Sommers would be brought back into the "Joe" fold, as there were conflicting reports across the blogosphere last summer that there had been some tension between Sommers and the studio, but the alleged bad blood appears to have been resolved. Channing Tatum is expected to reprise his role as Capt. Duke Hauser in the sequel, which is still in development at Paramount. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Collider reported earlier this year that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (" Zombieland ") were hired to write the sequel, and I'm told that the studio is happy with the draft they turned in. Sommers will likely produce with Lorenzo di Bonaventura. " G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra " grossed more than $300 million worldwide last year on a reported production budge

Star Wars Live Action TV Show Put On Hold

Star Wars Live Action TV Show Put On Hold Lucasfilm has been working on a live-action series set between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope for at least five years - The project was officially announced by George Lucas in 2005 - and, for the most part, keeping a tight lid on potential leaks that could spoil fans for what to expect. But this May, Lucas' update suggested that the series might be too ambitious for its own good: The live action TV show is kind of on hold because we have scripts, but we don't know how to do 'em. Because, they literally are Star Wars, only we're going to have to try to do them [at] a tenth [of] the cost. And, it's a huge challenge... lot bigger than what we thought it was gonna be. It's a shame, because what we do know about the project makes it sound like something worth seeing. The series was originally proposed as 100 hour-long episodes filling in the space between the fall of the Republic at the end of Revenge of The Sith

Viggo Mortensen On The Road

Viggo Mortensen On The Road Francis Ford Coppola has been working for 30 years to turn Jack Kerouac 's seminal Beat Generation novel On the Road into a movie. It is starting to look like it was worth the wait. Amy Adams and Viggo Mortensen are joining the Walter Salles-directed adaptation that will begin this month, I'm told. She will play Jane, the emotionally damaged junkie mother of two children and the wife of Old Bull Lee. Mortensen is going to play Lee. Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley and Tron: Legacy's Garrett Hedlund are also set for the pic. Adams, who next stars opposite Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in the David O. Russell-directed The Fighter, will follow On The Road by treading on more hallowed 60s ground. She's attached to play songstress Janis Joplin in a film to be directed by City Of God helmer Fernando Mierelles that could happen next year. Mortensen just wrapped the role of Sigmund Freud in the David Cronenberg-directed A Danger

Justice League Movie: What Could Have Been

Justice League Movie: What Could Have Been A few years ago, Australian director George 'Mad Max' Miller assembled a group of young actors to play DC Comics' iconic superhero squad the Justice League Of America. Armie Hammer (Batman), D.J. Catrona (Superman), Adam Brody (The Flash) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) would have led the cast with Jay Baruchel and Teresa Palmer . You were going to work with Teresa Palmer a while ago on a Justice League movie... "It's weird talking about it because the blogosphere was not very kind to us - they're looking for anything to s**t on! The two of us were going to do that, it sounds really strange out of context, had you read the script it would have made perfect sense." Do you think it would have won around the blogosphere? "I'll just say this, if we had been able to make the movie that we had gone down [to Australia] to rehearse, if you had seen the production art I'd seen... it would've be

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Release Date

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Films To Be Separated By A Year Bad news for all you Twi-hards, Summit has announced that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part One will arrive as planned on November 18 next year, Part Two won’t hit screens until November 16, 2012 , a full year later. Yes, that sound you hear is Twi-Hards scrambling to stock up on camping supplies so that they can spend the months between movies queuing for the next one. Director Bill Condon must have finally put his foot down and demanded that Summit stop pushing for the movies to come out so quickly, realising that even if Melissa Rosenberg’s scripts don’t include all the out-there madness of the book, it’s still a big task. And chances are there is also the increasingly busy schedule of the cast to be considered when booking in the publicity tours. And the big question of course, is… at what point will the story be broken up? Will fans be left on tenterhooks wondering what happens next? Er… Doubtful,

"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite

"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite Director Matthew Vaughn is hard at work on " X-Men: First Class " in London but he took some time out Sunday to catch a screening of " Inception ." He enjoyed the Christopher Nolan epic immensely -- even though it prompted him to scrap a dozen pages of the " First Class " script. "I saw 'Inception,' which I loved," Vaughn said Monday. "But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards." X-Men projections The jettisoned sequence was a sort of dream-space combat, according to Vaughn; that reminded me of "psi war" scenes like the one here on the right from " The Uncanny X-Men" No. 117 way back in 1979, but the filmmaker said for the film the fight involving Professor X ( Ja

Zack Snyder To Direct Another Comic Book Film "Mage" "Watchmen" producer Lloyd Levin is set to bring seminal '80s comicbook " Mage " to the bigscreen. Levin has acquired bigscreen rights to Matt Wagner's 15-book collection that makes up " The Hero Discovered " arc. Story -- a reinterpretation of the legend of Camelot -- centers on Kevin Matchstick , an alienated young man who discovers he has superhuman abilities, gains a magic baseball bat and defeats the nefarious plans of a being called the Umbra Sprite. "It has always been a favorite book of mine," said Levin, whose comicbook-to-bigscreen credits also include the "Hellboy" films. "It's one of the great untapped comicbooks from the '80s renaissance that also spawned "Watchmen" and "Batman: Dark Knight." Levin will finance development and production of "Mage," which was previously in development at Spyglass with Zac

Guillermo del Toro's Don't Be Afraid of the the Dark Trailer Here is the first trailer for the Guillermo del Toro produced film Don't Be Afraid of the the Dark . THis trailer was previewd During the panel at Comic-Con, and it scared the hell out of me. I am not a huge horror fan but this is one of the films I will be lining up to watch. The movie is a remake of an old 1970's TV film of the same and it was co-written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins. The movie was directed by first time feature film director Troy Nixey, and it stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison , and Jack Thompson . Rachel Weisz The Deep Blue Sea

Rachel Weisz Has the Big O She’s in advanced talks to play the wife in British director Terence Davies ’ adaptation of the 1952 play The Deep Blue Sea, says the Daily Mail. Even today, Terrance Rattigan’s script feels like wrenching stuff. Rachel Weisz would play a woman who leaves her companionable husband when she becomes sexually enslaved by an alcoholic ex-fighter pilot. Although she’s 40, it’s the first time she’s ever had an orgasm. Having smashed up her marriage, she then sticks her head in a gas oven when her booze-addled boyfriend walks out on her. Greta Scacchi played the part in a London stage revival a couple of years ago. Peggy Ashcroft , who originally played Hester Collyer opposite Kenneth More as her lover, complained the role made her feel as if she was walking around on stage naked. Rattigan wrote the play after an old boyfriend of his committed suicide. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Deadline

Resident Evil: Afterlife Comic-Con Trailer

Resident Evil: Afterlife Comic-Con Trailer Paul W.S. Anderson's new 3D film, Resident Evil: Afterlife . This is the trailer that you were able to see if you atended the panel at Comic-Con this year. I am not a fan of these film at all and the footage that was shown in this trailer didnt make me jump out of my seat at all. The slow motion in the trailer just turned me off and nothing about it impressed me. The thing that the film has on its side is the 3D technology. Which was developed and used by James Cameron in Avatar. So what did you think of the trailer? Watch trailer after the Jump... Synopsis: In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Inception Is On Top Again For Third Week

Inception Is On Top Again For Third Week It looked like Dinner for Schmucks might actually be enough to topple the current box office champion, Inception. But by the end of play Sunday, Christopher Nolan’s Cobb and the team pulled off another victory to give the dream thieves a third week atop the charts in the States, Inception nabbing $27.5 million and the Schmucks running away with $23.3 million. Salt slipped down to third place, taking $19.2 million, while Despicable Me stole $15.5 million for fourth. But even the kiddie/3D cash boost factor couldn’t save Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore , with the animal spies sequel bringing in just $12.5 million, which hopefully means this might be the end for the franchise. That said, given the nine-year wait between the first two, maybe we should be wary that, like a horror movie villain, another one could spring up in a decade. Zac Efron won’t be too thrilled either: his latest stab at grown-up filmmaking respecta

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall Plot Details

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall Plot Details Kick-Ass is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on August 3rd.  Mark Millar stopped by movieweb for a chat. While discussing the film, he told us in detail where Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall is headed. Meanwhile, Red Mist has hired a Russian Assassin to murder Hit Girl, while also assembling a group of super villains on-line who decide to hunt Kick-Ass down in a storyline that is similar to the one seen in The Warriors, which climaxes with a huge rumble in Times Square, where costumed heroes battle costumed villains to the death.
