Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam Found It's Director

We've been hearing about the concept of Black Adam , the villain-turned-antihero from the Shazam! comics before the idea of an actual Shazam! solo film came to fruition, mostly because Dwayne Johnson was attached to the role and he likes to talk about his upcoming projects, potential or otherwise, a lot. With Shazam! out in the world and, while not setting any box office records, doing well enough to warrant sequel and spin-off talk, the Black Adam film bubbled back up to the top of the development pot and now it has a director. Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam Will Get His Own Solo Film

THR is reporting New Line and DC Entertainment are doubling down on comic book hero Shazam ! New Line, which has been for over a decade developing a movie on the long-time DC character, will develop concurrently a movie centering on Black Adam , with Dwayne Johnson attached to star as Shazam’s arch-nemesis. Johnson has been attached to play Black Adam since around 2008. Since that time, the actor has become arguably the biggest male actor on the planet. To execs, it made no sense to have a man of Johnson’s stature be just a villain and a supporting character in an expensive tentpole. Thus a decision was made to spin Black Adam into his own film. Adam’s screen take involves him being an anti-hero. And

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson To Star In Shazam Film

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson To Star In Shazam Film Ryan Reynolds going to play every super hero out there? Not Captain Marvel. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is going to star as Black Adam in the new Shazam film. I would love to see him finally play a villain in a film. Most of his films he has always been the hero, this would be a nice change for him. Like the old days when he was the villain for some point in WWE . Bill Birch, the co-writer of the upcoming “ Shazam ” feature film has revealed that Ryan Reynolds was his first choice to portray Captain Marvel on the big screen. “I always thought Ryan Reynolds would have been interesting but now that he’s Green Lantern that’s not an option,” Birch told Cinefools . Birch also elaborated on whether he believes Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is still onboard to play Captain Marvel’s nemesis, Black Adam. “My rule of thumb is that no actor is committed to do a movie until the first day of shooting is over with,” Birch
