ROBERT ENGLUND CONFIRMED FOR FAMOUS MONSTERS’ SILVER SCREAM FESTIVAL Horror icon Robert Englund — Freddy Krueger himself — has confirmed his appearance at Famous Monsters’ Silver Scream Festival, joining his NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET co-star Heather Langenkamp for a tribute to their late director Wes Craven (the ELM STREET series, SCREAM, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT). With more than 150 credits, Englund played the scarred slasher Freddy Krueger in all of the original ELM STREET films and has appeared in other genre classics such as URBAN LEGEND, WISHMASTER, HATCHET, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, in addition to the 1980s Sci-Fi television series V. He’s twice been nominated for the Saturn Awards for Best Supporting Actor by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, and in 2001 was bestowed the Academy’s Life Career Award.
