BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Network Pilot Season Has Begun

The Big 5 deciding what they expect us to watch this fall. By Brandon Wolfe Pilot season has commenced as the networks have begun their first round of pickups. NBC has ordered the dramas The Player , Chicago Med , Blindspot and Heartbreaker to series. Also in contention are Warrior , Game of Silence , The Curse of the Fuentes Women and Love Is a Four Letter Word . The network is really pinning its rebirth hopes on drama rather than comedy, the genre upon which it built an empire in the ‘80s and ‘90s. The crop given the go-ahead today will join fellow dramas Shades of Blue , Emerald City and pointless reboot/event series Heroes: Reborn in the fall. On the comedy front, NBC has a number of prospects, including Superstore , Strange Calls , People Are Talking , a pointless small-screen reboot of Problem Child , How We Live and Cuckoo . Already ordered are Telenovela starring Eva Longoria and, yet one more pointless reboot, Coach . Fox will be adding its television adapt

Fox Officially Reopens The X-Files

The truth is that six new episodes will soon be out there. By Brandon Wolfe Looks like those rumors have panned out: The X-Files is indeed returning to television. The iconic ‘90s sci-fi series will be returning to Fox as a six-episode event series a whopping 13 years after it bowed out. Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as FBI agents Mulder and Scully and series creator/executive producer Chris Carter will also be returning. Production on the event series will gear up this summer, but the air date and plot have yet to be revealed. “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said Carter. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.” It’s actually been just seven years since Mulder and Scully last resurfaced, in 2008’s critical and commercial big-screen failure, The X-Files: I Want to Believe . That sequel seemed to be the death knell for the franchise as we knew it, but thi

#HeroesReborn The Aurora Super Bowl Spot

NBC’s upcoming 13-episode miniseries that reboots the popular 2006 superhero drama series. Heroes Reborn , from Heroes creator Tim Kring, will replicate the basic elements of the show’s first season in which ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities, though the producers are keeping details on the plot under wraps. But I have learned that Coleman will reprise his character as Noah Bennett aka HRG, or the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses, a nickname given to him by fans before the character’s real name was revealed. HRG, a former agent with the Company and father to cheerleader Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere), started off as a recurring but quickly became a fan favorite, with Coleman promoted to regular midway through Season 1. At the NBC upfront last month, NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt indicated that “some of the familiar faces from the show are bound to drop in” on Heroes Reborn. I hear that a handful of the original stars have been appro

Zachary Levi Joins #HeroesReborn

Zachary Levi has signed on to star in NBC’s Heroes Reborn , EW has confirmed. A relaunch of the original superhero drama, which ran from 2006 to 2010, the 13-episode event series will feature a brand new story, though Jack Coleman is slated to reprise his role as Noah Bennett, a.k.a. HRG. “We’re still keeping Zac’s role under wraps because everything is shrouded in mystery for this miniseries, but we’re very excited he’s been cast,” NBC boss Bob Greenblatt told reporters at the Television Critics Associations winter TV previews, noting that more castings will be announced over the next few weeks. Added Levi: “One of my first, and fondest, memories of joining the NBC family in 2007 was having the pleasure of getting to know Tim Kring, and the cast of Heroes. I was a fan of their collective work and always thought it was such a fantastic and fun world they got to play in. With Heroes: Reborn, I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring more of that world to life, and excited to

Masi Oka's The Correctors Coming To SyFy

The former " Heroes " star will collaborate with writer Alex Sabeti on " The Correctors ," a time-travel, Inception-esque project. Masi Oka is teaming up with writer Alex Sabeti (Art of Cool) on an Inception-esque pilot script for Syfy. The Correctors follows two agents of the Exceptions Bureau who are dispatched to a parallel universe where they inhabit the bodies of their identical selves in order to stop events from occurring. The time-travel elements and changing the course of history were key in the plot of NBC’s now-defunct Heroes, where Oka played a Hiro Nakamura, who could bend the space-time continuum. Sabeti and Oka developed the story and Sabeti will write the script with Masi executive producing and possibly starring. Osa has had a recurring role on CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 this season. Syfy has become a player in ad-supported cable’s scripted arena. Last January’s bow of Being Human was the net’s most successful winter scripted series since Bat

I Challenge You To Help The Red Cross For Japan's Earthquake And Pacific Tsunami Relief

Here are two paragraphs from this Yahoo news story : The quake was nearly 8,000 times stronger than one that struck New Zealand late last month, devastating the city of Christchurch. “The energy radiated by this quake is nearly equal to one month’s worth of energy consumption” in the United States, U.S. Geological Survey Scientist Brian Atwater told The Associated Press. All of the news and social networking outlets are flooded with information about the magnitude 8.9 earthquake in Japan. A significant part of my twitter community is involved in comic book, TV, entertainment websites and movie superheroes. It's almost too easy to imagine Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman racing to Japan to put out oil refinery fires, stabilize "at risk" nuclear reactors, and evacuate the thousands of injured victims. This tragedy hits home with me the most. My mother is 100% Japanese born and raised, and so am I . We have many family relatives living in Japan and as we spea

Kiefer Sutherland To Return To TV In "Touch"

The former " 24 " star closes a deal to star in and executive produce the Fox drama pilot " Touch ," from " Heroes " creator Tim Kring . Kiefer Sutherland , who starred for eight seasons on Fox's 24, is officially reuniting with the network. He has closed a deal to star in and executive produce the Fox drama pilot Touch, from Heroes creator Tim Kring. Touch centers on a father (Sutherland) who discovers that his autistic, mute son can predict events before they happen. Because of Sutherland's duties on Broadway where he currently stars in a revival of the Jason Miller's That Championship Season, Touch is expected start production in late May-early June after Sutherland fulfills his commitment to the play, now in previews. That would make Touch a contender for midseason where 24 was a long-time staple. Kring wrote Touch, his first pilot script since Heroes. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4

Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4 Lake Bell is in negotiations to join the franchise, and offers are out to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin (“Twelve”) for key starring roles. “Scream 4” reunites Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror- movie revival with his “Scream” script in 1996. The story brings back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment. If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love interest for Jill. Bell is negotiating to play a police officer who knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school. Casting is proceeding slowly because Crave

NBC's "Heroes" Most-Pirated TV Show Of 2009

NBC's "Heroes" Most-Pirated TV Show Of 2009 Last year, pirates were obsessed with good vs. evil, making NBC's "Heroes" the most-pirated TV show of 2009. This year, the buzz is that the show may be on the verge of cancellation thanks to dwindling ratings (it averages about 6 million viewers a week, down from nearly 14 million when the show first premiered in 2006). But "Heroes' continues to be a juggernaut in online piracy. According to Torrentfreak, "Heroes" was downloaded 6.58 million times in 2009, topping the year's most-pirated list. The only other show in the top 10 that boasts fewer weekly viewers than total illegal sharers is Showtime's "Dexter," with about 2.3 million viewers and 2.78 million pirated downloads. (And Showtime is a pay cable service, of course.) Here's the full list: 1. "Heroes" (NBC) 2. "Lost" (ABC) 3. "Prison Break" (Fox) 4. "Dexter" (Showtime) 5. &quo
