BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#PixarCoco On Top Of The Thanksgiving Box Office

This past weekend was Thanksgiving in the States, and that means families are often looking for movies as a distraction from any arguments – particularly this year. Pixar was there to fill the attention span with its latest release, Coco , and the movie took in $49 million across the weekend, according to studio estimates. That sounds low for a Pixar release, but it's only part of the story; the tale of a young wannabe musician's journey to the Land of the Dead was actually released on Wednesday in the US, to get a head-start on the holiday and is currently sitting at $71.1 million domestically. Worldwide (excluding places such as here in the UK, where it doesn't open until January), the movie has made more than $153 million. Even the movie's basic total was enough to let it knock Justice League down to second, with the underperforming superhero movie adding $40 million for a $171.5 million total to date. Family pic Wonder was nudged to third and $22.3 million,

Justice League Under Performs At The Box Office

The reviews have not been exactly positive and speculation has been rife as to how Justice League would perform at the American box office. As it turns out, the movie arrived a little beneath its original stellar expectations, yet still managed to top the charts with a solid $96 million opening in the States, according to studio estimates. Movie Review: Justice League- Factoring in overseas business, the DCEU's latest entry is now on $281.5 million worldwide, which is healthy if not stellar. The domestic opening has been seen as a stumble after the success of Wonder Woman, but the big test will be repeat business. This new superhero arrival knocked Thor: Ragnarok from the top spot, but you have to head down to third to find it, as family drama Wonder , smartly counter-programmed against the League, saw big success. Writer/director Stephen Chbosky's latest opened to $27 million. And, as previously mentioned, Thor and co. were nudged down to third place with $21.7 milli

#ThorRagnarok On Top For The Second Weekend

This weekend at the US box office saw comedy sequel Daddy's Home 2 and Kenneth Branagh's version of Murder On The Orient Express challenging champ Thor: Ragnarok for the top spot. Neither of the new arrivals managed the job, as the latest Marvel offering stayed in place, earning $56.6 million according to studio estimates. The third outing for the Asgardian has now earned $211.5 million in the US and has roared past $650 million worldwide after just a little more than a week on release. It's another success story for the MCU, and it remains to be seen if Justice League can steal its thunder this coming weekend. Daddy's Home 2 made $30 million, which is a slight drop from the original, which launched with $38.7 million in 2015. And Murder earned $28.2 million despite an all-star cast led by the director. A Bad Moms Christmas saw its comedy market cut by the new arrival, and dropped to fourth with $11.5 million. Rounding out the top five we have Jigsaw on $3

Thor: Ragnarok Rules The Box Office

Following the usual Marvel plan of opening in select international markets (including the UK), Thor: Ragnarok rumbled into Stateside cinemas and made a big impact. The new movie earned $121 million, according to studio estimates. Adding to its previous haul from elsewhere, the latest Thor entry is up to $427 million, which is a healthy start for the movie. It was more than enough to see off its nearest competitor, A Bad Moms Christmas , which looked to offer a little counter-programming to the latest superhero outing. At $17 million, it's not on the level of the original, which launched with $23.8 million last year, but it's not too bad considering the film's roughly $28 million production price tag. Jigsaw was pushed down to third place, adding $6.7 million, while Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween also fell, landing in fourth with $4.6 million. Geostorm rounded out the top five, making $3 million. At sixth, we find Happy Death Day , which earned $2.8 mil
