Amazon's Prime 'Hanna' Teaser Trailer

Looking to spark a little mystery that will not be quite so mysterious for anyone who has seen the movie that the show is adapted from, the first teaser for the TV take on Hanna is online. The series, like the 2011 film before it, will follow the titular young woman ( Esme Creed-Miles ) nabbed from a secret facility as an infant, raised in a forest on Northern Poland by her hardened and intuitive soldier and mercenary father Erik ( Joel Kinnaman ), and trained in fighting and survival. They've stayed hidden for years, but emerge when a conspiracy threatens their safety. On their trail is the ruthless and efficient CIA agent Marissa ( Mireille Enos ), who harbours a dark secret that haunts her, and Hanna and Erik's re-emergence threatens to expose her past. Hanna TV Adaptation Has Found It's Cast

The series adaptation of the action film “ Hanna ” at Amazon has found its three leads, Variety has learned. Esme Creed-Miles, Joel Kinnaman, and Mireille Enos will star in the drama, which was ordered straight-to-series at Amazon last May. In addition, Sarah Adina Smith is set to direct. Her previous directing credits include the FX series “Legion,” the HBO series “Room 104,” and the film “Buster’s Mal Heart.” The series will begin shooting in March across Hungary, Slovakia, Spain and the U.K. Written by David Farr, who co-wrote the original film, “ Hanna ” follows the journey of a young girl with extraordinary skills as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Enos plays Marissa, an efficient and ruthless agent, having risen up the ranks of the CIA. However, beneath her cool exterior is a deeply buried secret that continues to haunt her. The reappearance of Hanna and her father Erik threaten to expose t

Saoirse Ronan To Star In The Host By Stephenie Meyer

Saoirse Ronan has been set to star in The Host , the screen adaptation of the bestselling novel by Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer . Scripted by Andrew Niccol, the film figures to be one of the hot titles when Inferno launches sales at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival next week. Niccol, who was originally set to direct, might resurface as the filmmaker. Ronan , the Oscar-nominated star of Atonement , The Lovely Bones and most recently Hanna , will play Melanie Stryder, one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species called Souls. These parasites invade human bodies, fuse to each person's consciousness and systematically erase their personalities. Melanie is captured by the aliens and implanted by a Soul called Wanderer, something of a legend because of all of the "hosts" she has attached to on numerous planets. Wanderer's goal is to get Melanie to give up the remaining pockets of humans, but instead the alien finds Melanie to be unique in her

Rio Rules Easter Weekend Box Office

Looks like the combined power of Tyler Perry in a fat suit, the draw of Robert Pattinson and a group of big cats wasn’t enough to challenge animated birds as Rio has continued its box office domination across the world and in the US this Easter weekend. Across the pond, the feathered friends from Fox and Blue Sky earned $26.8 million, bringing the movie’s US total to $81.2 million. Somewhere, we’re pretty certain executives and about to ask what other ideas the Blue Sky team have for Blu and company. Still, Perry won’t be too upset as Madea’s Big Happy Family locked down second place easily with $25.7 million.  Who really watches these movies? Bet he digs the suit and wig out of the closet again soon enough. R.Pattz/Reese Witherspoon romance Water for Elephants , meanwhile, did decent business, taking in $17.5 million for third place. In fourth we find Hop hanging on to a solid level of ticket business, earning $12.4 million after four weeks on release. After that we see Scre

Rio Rules The Box Office

Dimension Films' " Scream 4 " comes in No. 2 with $19.2 million; Robert Redford's limited player "The Conspirator" meets its goal in grossing roughly $4 million. Twentieth Century Fox’s Rio outperformed expectations in its domestic launch, grossing an estimated $40 million from 3,826 theaters to help break the long-running box office slump. Worldwide, the 3D toon has soared past $169 million in its first 12 days. Make sure to read my reviews on Hanna and Rio . Domestic box office revenues were up 12% from the same weekend a year ago, the first significant gain since before Christmas. With studios readying their summer slates, the boost couldn’t have come at a better time. Rio, a sizeable victory for Vanessa Morrison’s Fox Animation Studios and Blue Sky Studios, received an A CinemaScore and is the biggest domestic opening for a G-rated toon since Toy Story 3. On Saturday, Rio was up 65%, thanks to good word of mouth. The movie is poised to do great

Hanna Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

Hanna Movie Review By: SandwichJohn I have to start off by saying that this movie was honestly really well made. The direction in the film was just amazing, and the entire movie was like a painting in the making, by the end of the film you got to see the master piece. The Best movie of the year so far. Make sure to come back later this week for my interview with director Joe Wright and star Saorise Ronan . If your going into the film wanting a straight action film then this movie isn't what your looking for. The story is the true star of the movie with superb action thrown in. The movie was directed by Joe Wright who is not known for action movies at all. He is known more for directing period pieces. He has directed films like Pride & Prejudice, Oscar nominated Atonement and The Soloist . With this being his first taste directing action films, I think this is one path if he decides to continue down would be a nice change for the genre of directing action films. And the
