BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Movie Review: #Self/less

The enjoyable action/thriller tries to be more than it ultimately produces. Review by Matt Cummings Actor Ryan Reynolds is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's biggest mysteries. Known for his good looks and likable on-screen presence, Reynolds has recently made several poor vehicles that have nothing to show off his abilities. Sans the very good Safe House , it's been one misstep after another. And don't even get me started on Green Lantern . Although Self/Less is nothing close to that disaster, it vacillates between action and smart technological thriller, doing neither particularly well. When the New York billionaire Damien (Ben Kingsley) learns of his terminal cancer, he ventures to a facility that promises to extend his life in a most peculiar way: they will transfer his persona and memories into a genetically-grown body. Soon, Damien is the 40 years-younger Edward (Reynolds), who piles his way through a second youth of booze, women, and general high livin

Agent Carter Being Developed Into TV Show

The “ one shot ” short films featured as extras on Marvel movies’ DVD releases are becoming a hotbed for TV series ideas. After one such short, Item 47 on The Avengers DVD about the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., led to the new ABC/Marvel series, another one may also spawn a series project for ABC. Marvel is notoriously secretive about their development, and no one would comment, but I hear the company is working on a concept for a potential TV series inspired by Agent Carter , a one shot, which will be featured on the upcoming Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3. Directed by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, Agent Carter brings back Captain America’s girlfriend Peggy Carter , Marvel Agent Carter TV Seriesplayed by Hayley Atwell , and chronicles her life as a budding secret agent after her boyfriend is stranded in ice. The project is in very early stages, one of several in the works at Marvel, and is in the process of locking in a writer. It is unclear if Atwell would reprise h

Robert Redford In Captain America: Winter Soldier?

Acting icon Robert Redford is in negotiations to do his first comic book movie. Redford is looking likely to close his deal with Marvel Studios, THR has confirmed, and join the cast of Captain America: Winter Soldier , which will begin shooting May in locations around the U.S. Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the movie, which continues the adventures of Steve Rogers/Captain America ( Chris Evans ) and will focus on his relationship with sidekick Bucky ( Sebastian Stan ), who in the comics returns as the brainwashed assassin Winter Soldier. CAPTAIN AMERICA Blu-ray Trailer & Sneak Peak At The Avengers

One of the best movie summer movie is making it's way onto Blu-ray and DVD CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER  will be available on October 25th, 2011. We have the Blu-ray trailer for the film. Make sure to keep an eye out we get a sneak peak into The Avengers . Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his fi

Captain America Sequel Talk. Could The Falcon Make An Appearance?

Even though Captain America has arrived in the 21st Century just in time to join the Avengers at the end of his cinematic debut, we may see his future big screen adventures set during the 1940s if the screenwriters have their way. “We certainly want at least a portion of the '40's, I think,” co-screenwriter Chris Markus tells PopcornBiz, and his screenwriting partner Stephen McFeely agrees: “The span of the movie is about two or three years, and there's a few times in the film where you jump four months ahead, you jump six months ahead. So we did that with the intention of saying, 'Okay, there are certainly unseen adventures that Captain America went on in that period that if we want to, we can go back and explore later.’” Still – given that Steve Rogers is but one member of the large, all-star lineup of Avengers and probably won’t have an excess of screen time to bemoan his new time-lost status, the scribes are just as tempted to craft an opportunity to exploit hi

The Avengers Panel At D23 Blows Away The Crowd

Marvel and Disney brought out cast members from The Avengers at the D23 expo on Saturday, impressing the 2500 gathered fans with a first look at the all-star superhero movie. Tom Hiddleston, Colbie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johannsson, Chris Hemsworth and-- lastly and to a standing ovation-- Robert Downey Jr. , came out on stage at the Anaheim Convention Center's arena. There wasn't much time for talking or a Comic-Con-style Q&A but Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige did show a scene from the movie, which is two weeks away from wrapping up principal photography. (Feige revealed his Disney nerd cred by telling the crowd he had legendary Disney songwriter Richard Sherman write a song for Iron Man 2 and Alan Menken composed a song for Captain America.) The scene revealed Hiddleston as Loki, squaring off in a high-security cell with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury character, over the nature of Loki's search for a power source. The scene ends with cutaways

Captain America Movie Review By: Joe D

Captain America Movie Review  By: Joe D Joe here! I’m standing in for the Sandwich while he’s off at Comic Con. This past Wednesday I had the grand joy of getting to see “ Captain America: The First Avenger ”! I’ll be honest. While a comic book geek, I know mostly just-below-the-surface information of the Character of Captain America. It’s not a book I read regularly. Of all the versions of Cap out there, my favorite is the “ Ultimates ” Cap, with 616 Cap taking second place. It does appear that the Marvel line of movies is integrating some of the “Ultimates” feel while holding onto its four-color roots… which I’m all for. If you’re a fan of Cap, then I can’t really give too much of the story away for this flick, you already know it. This flick is basically an origin and introduction movie… as all the movies introducing the Avengers have been. A welcome surprise was the beginning of the movie, it starts in present day.. After a quick, small glimpse of some red, white, and blue,
