BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Lion King Roars Over FilmDistrict’s Drive

With a mighty roar, Disney’s 17-year old The Lion King claimed the weekend box office crown, easily conquering three new wide releases in the process. Freshly updated to a new 3D version, the classic animated movie took in an estimated $29.3 million in North America, an astounding number. 'Drive' Movie Review Of the new arrivals, FilmDistrict’s Drive , the neo-noir thriller starring Ryan Gosling showed the most gas, taking in $11 million, although it still checked in the third position, unable to pass Steven Soderbergh’s medical thriller Contagion , which, in its second weekend, took the second spot with $14.5 million. Sony/Scream Gem’s remake Straw Dogs , directed by Rod Lurie, settled for a fifth place showing with a $5 million opening, while the Weinstein Co.’s femme-centric comedy I Don’t Know How She Does It , with Sarah Jessica Parker, was sixth with $4.5 million. 'Contagion' Movie Review As the weekend began, Disney had modest expectations for King.

CONTAGION Movie Review By: Rama

CONTAGION Movie Review By: Rama Ramascreen made it through the screening of the film and didn't get sick. He delivers another knock review. Please make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . (cough) CONTAGION and The Walking Dead put some attention back on Centers For Disease Control , just like Dan Brown’s book Deception Point and the recent movie Apollo 18 made NASA seem like it still matters somehow (cough), oh excuse me, I may have caught a bug or something (cough!). CONTAGION is an ambitious paranoia movie that’s too big for its own good. Sure it has great Oscar worthy A-list talents but Soderbergh puts more focus on the symptoms and the lethal effect that the virus has on the characters than the characters themselves. It’s always a gamble when you’re dealing with such huge cast, you run the risk of paying little to no attention to some of them. And it’s probably just me but watching CONTAGION also feels like watching a boring series of montage… When Beth Em

"Contagion" Up Next For Matt Damon

"Contagion" Up Next For Matt Damon So just how good is Scott Z. Burns' "Contagion" script? It's so good that Steven Soderbergh decided to push everything else aside to fast track it for a fall start. An action-thriller about the outbreak of a deadly virus, from what we've heard, Burns' script is a multi-strand film not unlike the Academy award-winning "Traffic" that Soderbergh helmed in 2000. Our sources tell us the story takes place over four continents and is "terrifying." The project has attracted the likes of Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Marion Cotillard who all have deals closing to star in the film. With the cast in place, Soderbergh and his people are now shopping the project around town with co-financing already in place from Participant Productions. Undoubtedly with a great cast already locked, and with comparisons to "Traffic" and "Bourne" being thrown around, this one will get snapped up q
