Wonder Woman 1984 Poster & No Comic-Con Presence This Year

In a somewhat surprising move, Warner Bros. has announced that the studio will be skipping the San Diego Comic-Con's popular Hall H presentation schedule, favoring its own focus on films such as I t: Chapter Two away from the convention center. But what of convention-nip including Wonder Woman 1984 ? That is continuing its campaign via social media, with a new poster online. Gal Gadot 's Diana Prince goes for gold with the new image, with a vibrant, Day-Glo, '80s-appropriate background and her typically determined look. As for the film, most of the story is under wraps, though we do know that it'll catch up with the titular heroine in the 1980s, when she faces new challenges, particularly from the powerful Cheetah ( Kristen Wiig ). And there will also be the return of Chris Pine 's Steve Trevor, who seemingly died at the end of the 2017 original. Pedro Pascal is also part of the cast, with Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen returning as Antiope and Hippolyta

Wonder Woman 1984 Pushed To Summer Of 2020

If you were excitedly waiting for the return of Gal Gadot's Diana Prince to our screens next year in Wonder Woman 1984 , we have news. You'll have to wait until June 2020 instead. Warner Bros. announced the news on Monday, pairing the slightly bitter pill of the delay with word that it'll screen in IMAX. But should this set you worrying that something is wrong with the latest instalment of the best DCEU film series so far, don't panic just yet. According to the studio, the delay is so that 1984 can occupy a similar summer slot to the original. "We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did," says Warner Bros.' Jeff Goldstein. "This move lands the film exactly where it belongs." The sequel, once again directed by Patty Jenkins, picks up Wonder Woman's story in the mid-198s, where she will face new threats (i

Kristen Wiig Joins Wonder Woman 2

Stop the rumor mill and crank up the fact cannon: Kristen Wiig is indeed joining Wonder Woman 2 . Word had been going around that the actor would be stepping in as Diana Prince’s next nemesis, and the news has now been confirmed by director Patty Jenkins herself. Writing on Twitter, Jenkins said: “So excited to confirm the thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned.” Jenkins also confirmed via a hashtag that Wiig will be playing Cheetah — a villain who’s appeared in various comic incarnations through the years. The current version is Barbara Ann Minerva, who has feline powers granted to her by ancient plant god Urzkartaga. The sequel, which will see Gal Gadot return as the titular heroine, is thought to be set during the 1980s in the Cold War, once again placing it long before the events of Batman v S

Patty Jenkins Will Direct Wonder Woman Sequel

It's hardly a surprise, since there had already been talk of her involvement in the movie's early development, but now, according to Deadline, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is signing her deal to make the sequel. Given the success of the film, it was only a matter of time before Warner Bros. secured her services, and the studio has reportedly offered her a handsome raise to come back and call the shots again, putting her on a much-deserved par with her male colleagues in terms of earnings. Warners made word of the sequel official at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, announcing a December 2019 release date. Other than that, and the fact that it'll star Gal Gadot as the Amazonian warrior, no details have been released in terms of setting or other casting. Now, at least, the project has a definite leader. Movie Review: #WonderWoman

Wonder Woman surprises in both its heady action and anti-war humanity. Review by Matt Cummings If the current state of the DC Cinematic Universe could be translated into an actual form, it might resemble a dumpster fire. Fueled by the disappointment of Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and lit afire by the should-have-been-better Suicide Squad , Warner Bros has endured a wave of Internet rage that it fully deserves. Luckily, the fourth entry - Wonder Woman - arrives to put out that fire, resetting this franchise with terrific acting, superb action sequences, and several appealing and frankly surprising storylines. Diana of Themyscira (Gal Gadot) grows up young and defiant, loves her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), but desires to be trained as an Amazonian warrior. Sneaking out at night, she learns from her aunt General Antiope (Robin Wright), who sees great things in Diana but must hide the girl's real destiny from her. Years later when World War I arr

First Look At #WonderWoman & Her Clan

EW scored the first image from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Themyscira is a hidden island where Amazon women of Greek myth have thrived for centuries, living in harmony and free to self-govern away from the gaze of man. It’s also, of course, the birthplace of Wonder Woman, who after years of false starts, is finally a movie star. With a much heralded introduction in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , Wonder Woman ( Gal Gadot ) is now a cornerstone in Warner Bros.’ DC Comics multiverse, with a crucial role in the first Justice League movie (out November 2017), and the center of her own long-awaited film, which will hit screens next June. Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), Wonder Woman will be an origin story illustrating the transformation of a young Princess Diana into the greatest female warrior of all time. She will need some help getting there, though. Preparing her for a world of men are three regal women: Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta (Gladiator’s Connie Nielsen )
