Universal Pictures and Cinemark Holdings, Inc. today announced that in observance of Veterans Day, on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, free tickets will be presented to all U.S. veterans, active-duty service members and their spouses for Universal’s First Man at more than 60 Cinemark locations nationwide . First Man, from Academy Award®-winning director Damien Chazelle, stars Ryan Gosling as astronaut Neil Armstrong. “Our dad flew 78 combat missions in the Korean War during his career as a Naval aviator, and he deeply valued the enduring friendships he forged during those years for the rest of his life,” said Mark and Rick Armstrong. “The sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform and their families form the bedrock of our freedom. Halloween Kills At The Box Office

In true Michael Myers fashion, the new Halloween slaughtered the competition at the Stateside box office this weekend. The return of The Shape (and Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode) saw an October record-breaking $77.5 million, another winner for the Blumhouse team. To be fair, the new horror didn't have any wide release competition, but it easily saw off the returning likes of A Star Is Born (which stayed in second place with $19.3 million) and Venom (finally deposed from the top spot, slipping to third with $18.1 million). Fourth was Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween , which kept its position and earned $9.7 million. Rounding out the top five we have First Man , which has continued to underperform, dropping a couple of places and adding $8.5 million. The Hate U Give expanded its screen count and rose in the charts to sixth, grabbing $7.5 million, that put it ahead of Smallfoot in seventh, with the yeti animated comedy earning $6.6 million. Night School fell to eigh

Venom Takes Down The Competition For The Second Week

It might chronicle the mighty effort to land humans on the moon, but First Man couldn't rocket past the two big current success stories at the American box office. Venom , in particular, is confounding the negative critical response and earning well, taking in $35.7 million this weekend, according to studio estimates. The Tom Hardy –starring comicbook pic has so far made more than $142 million in the US and has crossed $378 million worldwide in just a couple of weeks on release, which likely means the sequel talks are already starting. And the top two stayed the same, as A Star Is Born continued to perform, adding $28 million as it roars towards $100 million (which it should cross this coming week). First Man , meanwhile, had to settle for one small step as it launched third, taking in $16.5 million. Still, opening more in line with expectations was Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween , kicking off its box office run with a less-than-thrilling $16.2 million. Smallfoot fell to f

Universal Pictures and Regal today announced that, on Thursday, October 11, more than 14,000 free tickets will be presented to U.S. veterans and active-duty servicemembers for Universal’s First Man —at more than 500 Regal locations nationwide. Each of the first 25 service members (per location) with valid, government-issued ID who request a ticket will be given free admission to the 7:00 p.m. preview screening (or first show). Jon Bernthal Joins The Neil Armstrong Biopic 'First Man'

When he's not busy punishing people as Frank Castle on Netflix, Jon Bernthal is nabbing film roles left and right. He's just completed work on Steve McQueen's crime thriller Widows and is now headed for a part in First Man . The Neil Armstrong biopic finds Ryan Gosling as the main man, charting his training and the missions that led to his walking on the moon. Bernthal is aboard as Dave Scott, a fellow pilot and astronaut who was his partner on the Gemini VIII mission. Damien Chazelle is staging the reunion with his La La Land star Gosling, and the cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll and Claire Foy. The cameras will start rolling this November in Atlanta. Bernthal has Wind River due here on 8 September, and will be seen in Shot Caller, with The Punisher series launching this year. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire
