Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam Found It's Director

We've been hearing about the concept of Black Adam , the villain-turned-antihero from the Shazam! comics before the idea of an actual Shazam! solo film came to fruition, mostly because Dwayne Johnson was attached to the role and he likes to talk about his upcoming projects, potential or otherwise, a lot. With Shazam! out in the world and, while not setting any box office records, doing well enough to warrant sequel and spin-off talk, the Black Adam film bubbled back up to the top of the development pot and now it has a director. Jaume Collet-Serra will tackle the job. Discuss this with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . On Twitter, follow us at @SandwichJohnFilms Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

Jaume Collet-Serra Will Direct Dwayne Johnson In Jungle Cruise

Jaume Collet-Serra has been set by Disney to direct Dwayne Johnson in Jungle Cruise . This means that Collet-Serra will withdraw from Suicide Squad 2 , the Warner Bros sequel for which he was top choice. After directing a bunch of hit movies that included last summer’s sleeper The Shallows , Collet-Serra has been poised to take that step to star filmmaker, and numerous studios chased his next slot. He decided that the opportunity to originate a new Indiana Jones-like action-adventure franchise in lockstep with one of the most globally bankable film stars — like Gore Verbinski did with Johnny Depp in The Pirates of the Caribbean — was a better opportunity than continuing a storyline originated by another director. Production will begin late next spring. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but like Pirates, Jungle Cruise is based on the classic theme park attraction that takes guests on a guided tour through the rivers around the world. Did They Find A Director For Suicide Squad 2?

Though Suicide Squad didn't exactly have fans' hearts singing when it arrived last year, the line-up of wrong 'uns forced to go on a mission ka-chinged at the worldwide box office to the tune of $745.6 million, so Warners and DC have been busy laying plans for a sequel. According to Deadline, The Shallows and Non-Stop director Jaume Collet-Serra is the studio's choice to make the new movie. There's no mention of deals being done yet, so this could well still be at the talks stage (and we'll have to see whether he decides to go with true-life tale Waco instead), but after taking meetings with a number of filmmakers (including surprise addition Mel Gibson), the studio is looking to score a director who has a proven hand with action (even if some of his films haven't exactly been beloved themselves). Will Smith and Margot Robbie are just two of the names expected to return for the follow-up, and while there is no official release date on the books jus

Movie Review: The Shallows

Shark thriller is not so shallow. Review by Brandon Wolfe Nancy (Blake Lively) is a young woman attempting to retreat from her life. Off on a sojourn to a far-flung, picturesque corner of Mexico, she is endeavoring to hunt down a beach once visited by her mother while she was pregnant with Nancy, a beach so secretive that the locals are reticent to even tell Nancy its name. Nancy is catching a ride with one such local, attempting to have as much of a conversation as her limited grasp of the Spanish language will allow. He’s going to drop her off at this mystery beach so she can ride a few waves. Her friend bails on her via text due to a massive hangover, meaning she will have to go it alone. When she gets to the beach, strips down to her bikini, grabs her board and paddles out into the water, she encounters a couple of young men, also surfing. They invite her to surf with them. The Shallows has barely even begun and it already drips with potential danger. Nancy, whom we learn fro

Movie Review: Run All Night

Run All Night doesn't do much new, but it tells its story in the most effective manner possible. Story by Matt Cummings If there's one thing we recently love about Actor Liam Neeson, it's the one thing we also hate. Having re-established his career with the Taken series, Neeson has become the go-to guy for one-note action vehicles, starring in Non-Stop , A Walk Among the Tombstones , and many others. And therein lies the problem: too many of the same movies for too long has left audiences with Neeson Malaise, as if we have collectively recognized the need for him to move on to something else. Fortunately, Run All Night proves he still works in these vehicles, even if the pieces haven't changed much. The aging assassin Jimmy Conlon (Neeson) has lived a life of deadly confrontations, amassing a body count that's made him a wanted man in New York City. But Detective Harding (Vincent D'Onofrio) can't seem to pin the litany of dead bodies on
