Joe Carnahan’s Sizzle Reel Pitch For Daredevil Film That Will Never Be

Well, the studio tried, but its heart just didn’t seem in it. On the heels David Slade dropping outof  dropping out of the character reboot and Joe Carnahan’s pitching to take over, 20th Century Fox has apparently decided to let the rights to Daredevil lapse back to Marvel Studios. Regular version- Watch the NC-17 rated version- after the Jump... Variety reports that the clock is ticking down and that, while Fox was enthused by Carnahan’s pitch, there was just wasn’t the time to develop it properly and get the movie into production before the October deadline. This means that the Marvel team led by Kevin Feige will likely be back in control of Matt Murdock, Kingpin, Bullseye and the rest later this year. Despite Carnahan embracing the chance to make a grittier take on the blind lawyer-turned-superhero, he tweeted yesterday that it was looking increasingly unlikely. "Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kid

Daredevil Film Gets Another Writer

Not every viable Marvel Comics hero is in The Avengers . 20th Century Fox is revving a reboot of Daredevil , and the studio is setting David James Kelly to rewrite of the script, for David Slade to direct. The 30 Days of Night and Twilight Saga: Eclipse helmer became attached last year, and reports have the studio working off the Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli story arc Born Again , as The Kingpin uncovers the superhero’s secret identity, and uses it to turn blind lawyer Matt Murdoch’s life upside down. Fox, which also has the X-Men franchise and its spinoffs, also has Chronicle helmer Josh Trank working on a reboot of Fantastic Four. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Deadline

David Slade Developing Daredevil Film

David Slade  (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) is in talks to develop and direct the new Daredevil movie, being made by 20th Century Fox and Regency. Peter Chernin's Chernin Entertainment will produce. The so-far untitled project has no writer at this stage although the studio says it is aiming to make a movie that continues the story begun by the 2003 Ben Affleck movie. Affleck, however, is not involved in the new project. As the DD project is still in the development stage, Slade’s next project is likely to the Phoenix Pictures’ period horror The Last Voyage of the Demeter . The lead role is not cast but Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace are attached to co-star. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Heatvision

David Slade To Direct Demeter

The Last Voyage of the Demeter may be getting ready to finally set sail. David Slade , who directed vampires in 30 Days of Night and Twilight Saga: Eclipse , is in talks to tackle the blood-sucking genre again with Phoenix Pictures' long-in-the-works period horror movie. The lead role is not cast but Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace are attached to co-star. Phoenix is in active talks with actors for the lead role. Producing Demeter are Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and Bradley Fischer, who have made habit of incubating and sticking with projects for lengthy periods. (Phoenix took almost as long to get Oscar best picture contender Black Swan made.) Demeter was the name of the ship that transported Dracula from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker's classic tale. In that novel, it washes up on the shores of England, tattered and broken, with one raving mad survivor. Written a decade ago by Bragi Schut, the script places the voyage center stage in a tale that is remini

Darren Aronofsky Offered Wolverine Sequel

Darren Aronofsky Offered Wolverine Sequel We just  learned that 20th Century Fox today entered into negotiations with Darren Aronofsky to helm the sequel to last year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine , but the director is still being offered other valuable consolation prizes by Warner Bros., like Tales From the Gangster Squad, a high-priority project that this blog told you about last week. Back in August, Fox brass had been focusing on a handful of directors for Wolverine 2, including Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade and Red director Robert Schwentke . At the time, Fox had actually considered Aronofsky its top choice, as had its star, Hugh Jackman : The pair had collaborated on Aronofsky's ambitious 2006 movie, The Fountain , and are said to still have a close relationship today. And despite the financial failure of Fountain, Fox bosses were impressed by Aronfsky's willingness to work frugally on smaller movies and still get big results: Aronofsky directed Mic

David Slade To Direct Wolverine 2

"Eclipse" Director David Slade To Direct Wolverine 2 That it's come down to two directors vying to call the shots on Fox's sequel to Wolverine: Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade , and Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler's Wife). Both men have been approved by the studio's brass, and though Jackman will ultimately be the one to make the call after meeting with each next week, a well-placed source inside the production insists, "It's going to be Slade." As for the plot, McQuarrie's last draft from January has us rejoining Logan in Japan, where we left him at the end of the first Origins movie. There, he begins a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. This being Hugh Jackman , of course, he doesn't take no for an answer. And, this being Japan, that doesn't go over so well. Soon enough, Logan must do battle with her furious father and samurai-sword-w

The "Twilight" Saga: "Eclipse" Movie Review

The "Twilight" Saga: "Eclipse" Review by Windy (aka @rosenfie ) Authors Note: As stated in my "New Moon" review , I am a Twihard and this review is written from a Twihard perspective. Therefore, you already have an idea of where this is going... "Eclipse", the third film in The "Twilight" Saga franchise, is directed by David Slade ("30 Days of Night") and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. The first two films in the series "Twilight" and "New Moon" were highly sought after by "Twilight" fans. The third installment, "Eclipse,' however, expands its reach into the male audience with its action sequences. This film is the best of the three for many reasons. The actors seem more at ease with their characters, the special effects are stronger (as would be expected with a bigger budget) and there's more action and story lines. In "New Moon",

Twilight "Eclipse" No Test Screenings According To Summit

Twilight "Eclipse" No Test Screenings According To Summit After news spread that Summit Entertainment was holding "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" test screenings over the weekend, testimonials began to appear online from fans who had the chance to see the flick. The only problem? There was no test screening, so the testimonials were anything but accurate. A source close to the "Eclipse" production told GossipCop.com that rumors of the screening are "absolutely not true." Also, any testimonials being published online on sites like Alex's Memories are equally untrue. The source said specifics around any trailers and screenings for the flick have yet to be announced. "There is absolutely no merit to this claim," a Summit Entertainment rep confirmed to MTV News about reports of the screenings. "We noticed it over the holiday on multiple message boards and sites, and it appears that some of this was spam." Please Leave A Comment-

Twilight:Eclipse's Bryce Dallas Howard Talks Replacing Rachelle Lefevre.

Twilight:Eclipse's Bryce Dallas Howard Talks Replacing Rachelle Lefevre. In the upcoming third Twilight movie, Eclipse, Terminator Salvation's Bryce Dallas Howard will step in for Rachelle Lefevre as the evil vampire Victoria, and Howard said that the filmmakers took pains to make sure the transition was smooth. (Lefevre was let go last summer.) For one thing, the filmmakers will put a red wig on the otherwise red-haired Howard so that her tresses match those of Lefevre from the first two Twilight films. "I'm wearing a wig for that film," Howard said in a group interview last week in Los Angeles, where she was promoting The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond. Howard added that it was important to all involved that Victoria remain the same character. "There's a very grounded visual continuity for the character, which is critical," Howard said. (Spoilers ahead!) As readers know, Eclipse is the story in which Victoria becomes the biggest threat. She's been

Twilight Saga-Eclipse Teaser Poster

Twilight Saga-Eclipse Teaser Poster Here's are first look at a teaser poster for Twilight Saga- Eclipse. Eclipse is currently filming in Vancouver, under the direction of David Slade. The Director of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. David is saying that The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn’t have a lot of stuff that guys would go, ‘Yeah, I want to go see that.’ There’s going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly.
