BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

William Fichtner Joining Independence Day 2 and Possible Future Sequels

Actor will commit to three July 4ths. By Brandon Wolfe William Fichtner has been cast in a leading role in the forthcoming, currently filming Independence Day sequel. Deadline also drops the hint that there might be more Independence Day s yet ahead of us, as Fichtner has also been penciled in for two additional ID4 installments. Though there once existed talk that this project would take the form of back-to-back sequels shot simultaneously, that plan fell by the wayside. Perhaps the story in the hopper for the alien sequel is simply too mothership-sized for a single film to contain, but why Fox has decided to make Independence Day a full-throttle franchise now, rather than in 1999 when that made sense, is anybody's guess. Fichtner most recently appeared in last year's godawful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot (and will return for that film's presumably godawful sequel ). Roland Emmerich is directing the new ID4 . Will Smith, yet once more, is not in it. But Vi...

Sela Ward To Play New President in Independence Day 2

New Commander in Chief to deliver rousing speeches. By Brandon Wolfe Those of you ID4 fans who were expecting Bill Pullman to have been made President for life had better brace yourselves because there will be a new face in the Oval Office for the sequel. ‘90s relic Sela Ward will play President Lanford in the sequel to ‘90s relic Independence Day . Ward has previously worked with director Roland Emmerich in 2004’s The Day After Tomorrow . Ward will join returning ID4 vets Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Vivica A. Fox (but, again, no Will Smith), as well as newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film will go into production this month for a slightly-too-early release on June 24, 2016. It Follows Star Joins Independence Day Sequel

The First Daughter gets a facelift. By Brandon Wolfe Master of disaster Roland Emmerich has revealed via his Twitter account that It Follows star Maika Monroe has joined the cast of the rapidly assembling Independence Day sequel. Monroe will play the now-grown daughter of Bill Pullman’s President. Though Monroe is rightfully moving quickly up the ladder after her breakout performance in It Follows , the role of the President’s daughter was portrayed by actress Mae Whitman in the original film. Whitman, who remains a very active actress, seen in Arrested Development , Parenthood and, most recently, The Duff , was apparently not given the opportunity to reprise the role, striking up some controversy online about how that may be due to her being less Hollywood-glamorous than Monroe. If that is the case, it is indeed a shame, especially for a sequel that has seemed to take pains to bring back as many original ID4 actors as possible. In related news, Will Smith is still not...

Stargate Is Back

Read The Latest News Regarding The Beloved Franchise Story by David Clark In 1994 a movie named Stargate was released that was almost immediately considered a success; however, nobody dreamed of how far that movie would go. In the two decades following the release a franchise was born that consisted of cartoons, comics, books, movies, and television shows. Now, 20 years after the release of the original movie, Stargate is being infused with new life in the form of a reboot. The original concept and screenwriting for the 1994 Stargate movie was done by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin . For those that do not know these two individuals they have spent time in the industry as actors, writers, producers, and directors who most recently were in the news for the successful greenlight on the upcoming Independence Day sequel. In an interview with Devlin he expressed excitement at the opportunity for improving the vision of the franchise while adding to the storied legacy that...
