(EXCLUSIVE): #BatmanvSuperman Takes a Huge Hit

Its second-week slide is one of the largest in history. Story by Matt Cummings Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice witnessed a monumental drop in its second week in theaters, marking it as one of the highest declines ever. At 68% (far higher than the traditional 60%), Warner Bros.' tentpole is starting to look like a misfire. After a strong domestic opening of $166m, the pundits were scratching their heads as to how a film with a "B" CinemaScore and a 29% Rotten Tomatoes rating could rake in that much cash. Additionally, Monday ($33m) and Tuesday ($15m) showed strong numbers, possibly indicating a backlash by audiences who wanted to see it for themselves. But as the week wore on, numbers began to decline rapidly, with Thursday offering just $7.7m. This weekend's decline places it with other not-so-great company, including 2015's Fantastic Four (68.2%) and X-Men: The Last Stand (66.9%) The whole free fall obviously should have WB and the Zack S

BLACK PANTHER Stand Alone Film Is Next For Marvel

According to @elmayimbe  (And he is always on the money about his scoops) from Latino-Review the next stand alone movie from Marvel is going to be none other than the Wakanda hero, BLACK PANTHER . Marvel is going BIG TIME after the urban film audience and I applaud them for that. Last year, it was reported that Marvel hired Mark Bailey to pen the script and I hear the script is fantastic. The clues were always there. They showed Wakanda on the map in Iron Man 2 and Captain America’s shield is made from Vibranium which also hails from Wakanda. The Black Panther has a long development history which at one point had Wesley Snipes attached to star. Marvel got the rights back to the character in 2005. From Wikipedia The title “Black Panther” is a rank of office, chieftain of the Wakandan Panther Clan. As chieftain, the Panther is entitled to eat a special heart-shaped herb, as well as his mystical connection with the Wakandan Panther god, that grants him superhumanly acute se

Top 10 Films Of 2010

There Are Some Surprises With the year coming close to the end we thought we would wrap up the Top Ten films of 2010 . The list ranges from A toy in a box to sexy vampires, a boy wizard, a green ogre and even a titan if you can believe that.  I was surprised to see some of the box office totals for these film. Check out the list after the Jump.. 1.Toy Story 3 The Pixar threequel, shot in 3D, grossed $1.1 billion at the box office . Domestically, it grossed a handy $415 million. The news overseas was even better, where Toy Story 3 grossed $648.1 million. Not bad for a franchise that took a decade-long hiatus. The extra charge for a 3D ticket no doubt boosted the bottom line for Pixar and Disney. 2. Alice in Wonderland In the months leading up to the release of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, there was rampant speculation about whether audiences would embrace Tim Burton’s retelling of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. The movie became a hit, and had impressive playability. Domestic

Black Widow Film In Talks

Johansson In Leather Jumpsuit? Yes Please Are you ready for a Black Widow solo movie starring Scarlett Johansson ? The film is being talked about and discussed as a possibility after Joss Whedon's Avengers movie, according to The HD Room. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige who is on the trail promoting the upcoming release of Iron Man 2 on DVD is quoted at an appearance saying. "We've already started discussions with Scarlett about the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts," Feige said. "But The Avengers comes first." I am not a huge fan of Johnansson, but I am a fan of ladies in tight jumpsuits and lovely ladies kicking ass. It makes sense that Marvel would wait to see how audiences react to that film before making any final decision about letting the Black Widow loose on her own. Still, given her long history in the comics, surely there’s enough scope for a decent film about her adventures? Please Leave A Comment- Sourc

"Halo: Reach" Earns $200 Million In First Day Release

"Halo: Reach" Breaks Records " Halo: Reach ," Microsoft's prequel to one of the video game industry's biggest franchises, recorded more than $200 million in sales in the U.S. and Europe on its first day. Microsoft late Wednesday highlighted that the sales for the first 24 hours make "Halo: Reach" not only its biggest game release ever, but also the biggest U.S. entertainment launch of the year. Its one-day gross exceeded the opening weekend box-office hauls of Hollywood blockbusters such as " Iron Man 2 ," " Alice in Wonderland " and " Toy Story 3 ," the company emphasized. The new game, which hit stores Tuesday, also exceeded the previous "Halo's" first-day haul of $170 million, which had set an opening record in 2007. But it fell short of the record $310 million in sales set last year by " Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ." "Reach" is an Xbox 360-only title, while the Activisi

Movie Studios And Comic-Con

Movie Studios Build Hype With Comic-Con When the seventh annual San Diego Comic-Con took place in 1976, the gathering of a few thousand fans was just what its name implied: a convention about comic books. That year, however, Lucasfilm Ltd . set up a booth and held a slideshow presentation about a movie nearly a year away from release, " Star Wars ." More than 30 years later, the convention appears to be more and more a place where movie studios and television networks can follow in the footsteps of "Star Wars'" by giving hard-core fans an early look at upcoming releases. Sometimes, it's a very early look. Walt Disney Pictures came to Comic-Con in 2008 with test footage from what was then referred to as "TR2N," a sequel to the 1982 cult classic " Tron ," one of the first films to use computer-generated imagery. The special effects and appearance by Jeff Bridges, reprising his role in the original, made a big splash with the audienc

Dominic Cooper To Play Tony's Daddy In Upcoming Captain America Film

Dominic Cooper To Play Tony's Daddy In Upcoming Captain America Film Dominic Cooper will play younger Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger. Still waiting for a confirmation. If you have seen Iron Man 2 then you know that Toy Starks father Howard Stark plays a huge role in the development of S.H.I.E.L.D and was one of the driving forces behind the team.  And we know that he will play some kind of role in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull and Toby Jones as Arnim Zola Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspire

Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man

Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man Terrence Howard is taking credit for Robert Downey Jr. Getting the role to play Tony Stark in the Iron Man films. I highly doubt that Howard had any say in the casting of Downey in the Iron Man films, but you never know. "For me to have recommended him, it means all the more so that I helped someone get to where they are supposed to go," the Crash star continued. "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well." Then he went on to dispel any notion that he had a falling out with the studio or director Jon Favreau. "Despite the customary idea or thought that there's some controversy, it was a wonderful split and I know that they've done well," Howard claimed. "Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that part and it was wonderful that that part has given him the stature

Captain America And The Avengers Could Be Shot In 3D

Captain America And The Avengers Could Be Shot In 3D If "Iron Man 2" had come out late in the summer, Tony Stark might have soared right out of the screen. And don't be surprised if Captain America's shield or even Thor's hammer comes flying at you in a dark theater in the seasons to come. In an interview Sunday about the huge $133.6-million opening of "Iron Man 2," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige admitted he and his team had considered converting the superhero sequel into 3-D after seeing the success of "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland." Given the extensive demands of post-production on "Iron Man 2," however, they concluded there simply wasn't enough time. "We couldn't have turned over a version of the movie 10 or 20 weeks earlier for 3-D conversion without undermining the quality," he said. "We used all the time we had for mixing and editing and discovering the right tone." Don Che

Iron Man 2 Movie Review

Iron Man 2 Movie Review By: Beevers SPOILER ALERT Just left the theater and have to say I really enjoyed Iron Man 2.  I do think that the first one was better but the second one was definitely good too.  One interesting thing to note is that the movie is missing a few scenes that were shown in trailers, such as Pepper kissing Tony's helmet before he jumps from the plane.  I am sure that we will see these scenes when the movie is released on DVD and Blu Ray though. The movie introduces us to quite a few new characters.  These include Mickey Rourke who does an awesome job as Ivan Vanko (aka Whiplash), the son of the man that helped Howard Stark design the first arc reactor.  There is Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, a rival weapons manufacturer.  Also, a noteworthy addition is Scarlett Johansson as Natalie Rushman/Natasha Romanoff, Tony's new assistant and an undercover agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Furry (Samuel L. Jackson) has a much larger role this time around. We learn th

Jon Favreau Wants The Mandarin In Iron Man 3

Jon Favreau Wants The Mandarin In Iron Man 3 Director Jon Favreau has been sprinkling "Ten Rings" references throughout Iron Man and Iron Man 2, leading many fans to speculate that the ring-wielding villain the Mandarin might very well be the main antagonist in Iron Man 3. Now, in a recent interview with MTV, Favreau has admitted that he has "got to do the Mandarin" in the sequel, but he has to figure out a way to do it that fits into the tech-based world he's created for Iron Man. "The problem with the Mandarin is that the way it's depicted in the comic books, you don't want to see that. He has 10 magical rings — that just doesn't feel right for our [franchise]. So it's either tech-based, or the rings are not really rings. But maybe with Thor and all those others, you'll introduce magic to that world and it won't seem so out of place." Favreau said that he can't really make any plans until he sees what happens with the

Howard Stark To Appear In Captain America

Howard Stark To Appear In Captain America It would make sense to have Howard Stark may an appearance in the upcoming Captain America film. In Iron Man 2, Howard Stark is played by John Slattery, who appears in a video reel flashback scene and plays an important part in unraveling a key plot mystery. How big Stark's part in Captain America will be is unknown at this time. Jon Favreau let the world know on MTV that Tony's father would be in the upcoming film. Asked about Stark senior's possible appearance in Cap.. "Yeah, because he was around then. ['Captain America'] is World War II. It wouldn't be that same actor, probably, because he would be much younger.[Howard Stark] was starting out during that time, and [he] was involved with the war effort, much like Howard Hughes," Please Leave A Comment- Source- CBM

Mickey Rourke Talks Genghis Khan Biopic

Mickey Rourke Talks Genghis Khan Biopic We got word that  Mickey Rourke will be starring in a Genghis Khan biopic, written and directed by "Apocalypse Now" writer John Milius. "It is [an epic movie]," Rourke said, "but because Milius is a really terrific writer, it's not your stereotypical blood and swords. It's almost done on a-- not quite a documentary historical background of the whole Mongol reign, but there's a lot of humor in it that you wouldn't expect." "I like the part where he has-- they use dogs in battle, these big dogs," the actor explained. "And then, on one particular battle, [Khan] didn't think they were going to be doing too good. So he said 'Leave the dogs behind.' I like that." Please Leave A Comment- Source- MTV
