BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Ruben Fleischer To Direct Uncharted

Here we go again... The seemingly poisoned chalice that is the directing assignment on Sony's adaptation of the Uncharted is now likely to end up in the hands of Zombieland 's Ruben Fleischer, who has landed at the top of the studio's wishlist. The Uncharted series, should you be unaware, is a globe-trotting, loot-hunting set of Playstation games, blending Indiana Jones-style adventuring with several parts Tomb Raider and just a dash of National Treasure. Its hero is Nathan Drake (voiced by Nolan North), who undertakes action-packed trips to the likes of El Dorado, Shambala and the Iram of the Pillars, quipping many a quip and shooting many a henchman along the way. A film based on the game has become a revolving door of filmmakers and actors, with Bumblebee's Travis Knight the most recent director to vacate the seat as the studio aims to have the movie shooting before current star Tom Holland swings off to appear in the next Spider-Man film later this year. Jesse Eisenberg that the first draft of the script in finished and has been turned in to Sony Pictures by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick . Eisenberg has yet to read the script. But  Ruben Fleischer (director of the first film) has had a chance to read the script and this is what he has to say: Yeah, I read it. I mean, it's an early draft and we have plenty more to do to work on it, but I think it's going to be amazing, I'm really excited about it.  Fleischer isn't sure if it will be his next project after 30 Minutes or Less as his name has been attached to a couple other previously-announced projects: "I got a couple irons in the fire, so we'll see, but I'd be psyched to do it. I have this buddy cop movie that I sold to DreamWorks that's pretty

"Zombieland" Writers Talking G.I. Joe Sequel. Get Ready For Some New Faces

"Zombieland" Writers Talking G.I. Joe Sequel. Get Ready For Some New Faces I was always a fan of G.I.Joe's as a kid and was super excited when they announced they were going to be making a film,“The Rise of Cobra." But wow was that movie bad. I would have walked out the film if I hadn't paid money for the film. Best part of the film was Ray Park (Snake Eyes) action scenes. I am hoping for a better film with the sequel and the only reason behind my joy is that we got Super talented guys penning the film. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick the guys behind "Zomibeland" They assured us that their “G.I. Joe” sequel will be something closer to the roots of the toyline. So much so, that Reese has already made his own G.I. Joe film… well, kinda. “My very first movie was a ‘G.I. Joe’ movie; I used the little ‘G.I. Joe’ action figures [as my actors],” he said, laughing. “I was like 9; the sad thing was that I figured I could do stop-motion with a video camera - and we

G.I. JOE 2 Sent Out Special Mission To Zombieland Writers

G.I. JOE 2 Sent Out Special Mission To Zombieland Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been in the news this week when it was announced they had officially signed on to pen DEADPOOL for 20th Century Fox. IESB has exclusively learned that not only are these two writing the script for the Merc with the Mouth, they've also just been handed the sequel to G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA that hit theaters this past August with Stephen Sommers at the helm. We've reached out to Paramount and WME and are awaiting further comment. RISE OF COBRA was a big summer success released in theaters August 7 and grossing over $300 million in worldwide box office receipts alone as well as a ton of money in DVD and toy/merchandise sales. Reese and Wernick are most known for their work on the Sony Pictures' horror hit ZOMBIELAND that starred Woody Harrelson and grossed just under $100 million worldwide. "Deadpool," Film Gets "Zombieland" Writers On Board

"Deadpool," Film Gets "Zombieland" Writers On Board 20th Century Fox is making progress with its "X-Men" spinoff, "Deadpool," and has tapped "Zombieland" scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the screenplay. Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as the wisecracking mercenary he portrayed in last year's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." There is no timetable on the Marvel property, though Reynolds has a window after wrapping the "Green Lantern" this summer. Reynolds has been bulking up to play the DC Comics' hero "Green Lantern," which starts lensing next month. This means he would already be in superhero shape if the script for "Deadpool" is ready by summer. Reese and Wernick, who wrote "Zombieland," will stay true to the mythology of "Deadpool" given that Reynolds is a huge fan and protector of the property. The tone of "Deadpool," which features an antihero a

Deadpool Film To Be Written By The Writers Of Zombieland ?

Deadpool Film To Be Written By The Writers Of Zombieland ? The Deadpool movie has been slowly, quietly been percolating over at Fox, and recent days may have seen some important developments. While nothing is official just yet, it looks like Fox could be hiring Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Zombieland, to script the adventures of the Merc With A Mouth. I did my due diligence and asked around but couldn't get a solid confirmation, so regard this one as a strong rumor. But if it's more than a rumor - and my source tells me there could be a trade break announcing this within days - it's actually a very good sign for Deadpool. While the character was sorely abused in X-Men Origins: Wolverine - seriously, sewing his mouth shut? It was like a personal 'fuck you' to fans of the character - bringing on the folks who wrote Zombieland points to a funny tone that better suits the character. Between Ryan Reynolds insisting that Deadpool would break the fourth wa

Zombieland and Jackass Sequels To Get 3D Treatment

Zombieland and Jackass Sequels To Get 3D Treatment Hollywood is moving forward with a pair of unlikely 3D sequels. Sony is in the process of inking deals to bring back the "Zombieland" team for a second installment, but this time the bloody comedy is poised to unspool in 3D. And Paramount has greenlit a third "Jackass," which will also be shot in 3D. Get ready to watch testicles being stapled in all their gory detail. In recent years, studios have given dozens of animated pics as well as tentpoles and horror films the 3D treatment, from "Avatar" to "My Bloody Valentine 3D" to "Monsters vs. Aliens." But until now, low- and medium-budget comedies have been off limits. "Everyone had fun watching (the first) 'Zombieland'; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better," said the film's producer Gavin Polone. "I don't think you want to see 'Ordinary People' in 3-D. But 'Zombieland'

Venom Movie Looks Likely To Get Made Soon

Venom Movie Looks Likely To Get Made Soon We can only hope that the Venom Movie that Rhett and Paul wrote will be better then what we saw in Spider-Man #. The only Good part about Spider-Man 3 was our good Friend Michael Papajohn Reprising his role in the movie as Dennis Carradine / Carjacker . Or the Man who killed Uncle Ben? Now Sony is going forward with a Venom spin off movie, which pretty much has fans split down the middle. Will it finally do the fanged black-ooze baddie justice, or will it be more of the same? The good news is that Zombieland co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been tasked with penning the project (Zombieland is awesome, so fingers crossed). Today Wernick confirmed to us that the project is still moving forward and the writing team has turned the script in to the suits at Sony. "We've written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they're pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward," Wernick told SCI FI Wire in a
