April 2014 Movie(s) On Our Radar

Only One April Release Gets Our Full Attention. By: Matt Cummings  After a strong March which elevated three of our four 'radar' releases into the top 10, April arrives with only one guaranteed hit. Typically a dull month, April 2013 featured only one release ( Oblivion ) and 2012 had none. This year promises one that should challenge leaders The LEGO Movie and Ride Along : Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier . That's good or bad depending on how you look at it, with Hollywood essentially throwing all its eggs in Marvel's lap. But for now, we'll highlight a couple of others that might make a decent profit, but which should only bounce off Cap's vibranium shield: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4th)  Marvel - and its parent company Disney - are now the undisputed leader in Hollywood. The studio famous for Thor, Iron Man, and The Avengers releases the second Captain America film on a crest of both critical praise

Deleted Scene From The Raid 2: Berandal

If this deleted scene doesn't make you want to see The Raid 2: Berandal , then I don't know what will. The clip gives you a taste of what you have in store when you see the film. Subtitled 'Berandal', or 'hooligans' in Indonesian, The Raid 2 is actually a much more sophisticated brew than the word implies. Far from just a brawny Iko Uwais punch-up, Gareth Evans' follow-up to his much-loved movie sets the action - and there's plenty of it - against a gangland backdrop with shades of Hamlet, The Godfather and the yakuza flicks of Takeshi Kitano and Kinji Fukasaku. The Raid 2 Behind The Scenes

Subtitled ' Berandal ', or 'hooligans' in Indonesian, The Raid 2 is actually a much more sophisticated brew than the word implies. Far from just a brawny Iko Uwai s punch-up, Gareth Evans' follow-up to his much-loved movie sets the action - and there's plenty of it - against a gangland backdrop with shades of Hamlet, The Godfather and the yakuza flicks of Takeshi Kitano and Kinji Fukasaku. Picking up the story hours after The Raid left it, bruised and battered, the sequel broadens out the world of Jakarta cop Rama ( Uwais ) to encompass the Bangun crime family. It's into this den of nastiness, led by crooked but essentially honourable patriarch ( Tio Pakusadewo ) and his grasping young son Uco ( Arifin Putra ), that Rama must disappear when he's sent uncover to root out the bent cops in cohoots with Bangun. Surely the poor guy is due some annual leave? Watch the feature after the Jump... The Raid 2: Berandal (BEHIND THE SCENES PART 1) from

New Images From THE RAID 2

Here are some new images from the upcoming film THE RAID 2 . He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen – a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls – rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong. Formidable though they may have been, Rama’s opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife: He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself and climb through the hierarchy of competing forces until it leads him to the corrupt politicians and police pulling the strings at the top of the heap. And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a j

New The Raid 2: Berandal Trailer.

Just as the New Year was dawning, we got the most recent trailer for The Raid 2: Berandal . Now here comes the one aimed at American audiences which possibly gives a little too much of the chaos away, though director Gareth Evans has promised that there’s so much stuffed into this film that we’re really just scratching the surface. Watch with caution anyway. This film is on our most anticipated films for 2014 . If you haven't seen the original film get off your ass and watch it. The Raid 2: Berandal picks up the story two hours after The Raid and sweeps Rama ( Iko Uwais ) into a much broader world of corruption and violence as he goes undercover in prison and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate. As you'll just have seen, it looks even more gloriously violent than its predecessor, if that's possible. Everything possible is turned into a weapon here as Evans expands the fights to even more ambitious levels. Watch the trailer after the Jump...
