Cobra Kai Never Dies. Karate Kid Series On It's Way

I am a huge Karate Kid fan and love the news, just don't like the face it will be on Youtube Red. In many ways his success as The Karate Kid has stereotyped Ralph Macchio in Hollywood's mind, but now it seems that he has embraced his legacy by agreeing to star in a TV series version for YouTube Red. They're describing the show as follows: "Thirty years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence ( William Zabka ) seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso ( Macchio ), who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi. The show is about two men addressing past demons and present frustrations the only way they know how: through karate.” While that all sounds fairly interesting, what is surprising is that the show will be presented in a half-hour format and is being produced by Jon

Red Dawn To Battle North Koreans

China has become such an important market for U.S. entertainment companies that one studio has taken the extraordinary step of digitally altering a film to excise bad guys from the Communist nation lest the leadership in Beijing be offended. When MGM decided a few years ago to remake " Red Dawn ," a 1984 Cold War drama about a bunch of American farm kids repelling a Soviet invasion, the studio needed new villains, since the U.S.S.R. had collapsed in 1991. The producers substituted Chinese aggressors for the Soviets and filmed the movie in Michigan in 2009. But potential distributors are nervous about becoming associated with the finished film, concerned that doing so would harm their ability to do business with the rising Asian superpower, one of the fastest-growing and potentially most lucrative markets for American movies, not to mention other U.S. products. As a result, the filmmakers now are digitally erasing Chinese flags and military symbols from " Red Dawn

Toy Story 3 Puts A Hex On Jonah And The Rest Of The Field

Toy Story 3 Puts A Hex On Jonah And The Rest Of The Field The toys were back in town, and audiences were back in theaters. Pixar Animation Studios broke the piggy bank again with Toy Story 3 , which raked in an estimated $109 million over the weekend. Overall weekend business was up 29 percent over the same timeframe last year, and, with around $195 million, it was the industry's largest-grossing third weekend of June ever. Pixar's track record extended to 11 consecutive blockbusters, reaffirming yet again the role that consistent, universal storytelling plays in branding and commercial success. Toy Story 3 delivered the studio's highest-grossing launch yet, surpassing The Incredibles' $70.5 million. However, in terms of estimated attendance, it was effectively around the same as Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc.. The first Toy Story took ten days to hit the same level of attendance as Toy Story 3 in three, while Toy Story 2 reached the

The Karate Kid Full Trailer Or Should It Be Kung Fu Kid

The Karate Kid Full Trailer Or Should It Be Kung Fu Kid I don't care how high the movie scores it will never compare to the original film. But from the full trailer doesn't look half bad. Generation Xers may have bemoaned the redo of their 1984 childhood favorite The Karate Kid (I know I did) with none other than silver spooner Jaden Smith taking on the Ralph Macchio role. But, perhaps the results from Sony’s early test screening of the movie from director Harold Zwart (The Pink Panther) will win converts to rejiggering Mr. Miyagi’s karate-lessons-hidden-in-manual labor. (Jackie Chan takes on the Wax on, Wax off mentor role.) Pay attention to the last scene, Remember the song. Gotta love that one. Official Synopsis: In Columbia Pictures' The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying -

Karate Kid Remake Scores Huge On Test Screening

Karate Kid Remake Scores Huge On Test Screening I don't care how high the movie scores it will never compare to the original film. The studio tells EW that the film scored just below Sony’s highest research screening ever, 2005’s Hitch, which ironically starred Jaden Smith’s dad Will, the last reigning movie star. With positive scores in the 97th percentile, the movie, which doesn’t open until June 11, might be one of those films that outdoes everyone’s expectations. Not that it’s likely to match Hitch’s gross, but that film did earn close to $

The Karate Kid Trailer

The Karate Kid Trailer I was hoping that the movie and trailer would just be really bad. I am a huge Fan of the original film and was hoping this film would look horrible so that no one would waste a dime to go see the film when it hits theaters. But from what they showed on the trailer it doesn't look half bad. Not saying that I would go to see the film during the first weekend, but maybe when it hits the dollar theaters. I may take a chance on it. Sherry is offered a transfer to China. Considering the U.S office is about to lay off everyone, it’s really her only choice; especially since nobody else at the office has been offered a transfer. With her young son Dre (Jaden Smith) in tow, the single-mother makes Beijing her new home. Needless to say, not knowing Chinese, and experiencing a bit of culture shock, they both find it a little hard to settle in – – Dre especially. Like Daniel Larusso in the original film, Dre (who, unlike Larusso, is a skateboarding video-game buff) imme
