Hellraiser Reboot On The Way

Do We Really Need To Reboot Pinhead? NEW DIRECTOR named. News here. We landed some huge news this weekend as we've confirmed that Christian E. Christiansen (say that ten times fast) is circling Dimension Films' big budget Hellraiser remake. But ultimately lost out to the Drive Angry team, as did Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who brought us the last four Saw films and The Collector .  As it was previously reported, the Victor Garcia low budget sequel, Revelations , was greenlit in order for the Weinstein Company to retain the rights (much like they did in 2005 with both Deader and Hellworld). Based on what I've heard from various people who have pitched their version of Hellraiser, the Weinsteins are looking for someone to make the franchise fitted for "teens" (super, super, super lame), thus making the director of Sony Screen Gems' The Roommate perfect for the gig. Summit Gets Their Hand On "Drive Angry"

Summit Gets Their Hand On "Drive Angry" Summit Entertainment has picked up the North American distribution to the Nicolas Cage revenge movie "Drive Angry," setting a release date of February 11, 2011. The move keeps the company in the Cage business, which has been a successful one for the company. Summit was behind "Knowing," which grossed almost $80 million domestically when it was released in March and $183 million worldwide. "Angry," which is now in pre-production, centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control, as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway. The project, which will be in 3-D, is being directed by Patrick Lussier ("My Bloody Valentine") from a screenplay penned by Lussier and Todd Farmer. Michael De Luca is producing via his Michael De Luca Productions banner along with Ada
