BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Daniel Craig To Star In Cowboys and Aliens

Daniel Craig To Star In Cowboys and Aliens As we wrote before that Dainel Craig may star in the upcoming film. It has been confirmed he will star in the movie. Daniel Craig has closed his deal to star in Cowboys and Aliens for DreamWorks and Universal, as I predicted. Craig will star in an adaptation of Fred Van Lente's graphic novel that was published by Platinum Studios and revolves around cowboys and Native Americans who put aside their Old West differences to battle invading aliens. Craig will play the lead cowboy Zeke Jackson, replacing Robert Downey Jr who exited to jump right back to the Sherlock Holmes sequel. While he likely won't identify himself as "Jackson, Zeke Jackson," Craig has put himself in an enviable position: Cowboys and Aliens has franchise potential. And it will keep him busy while the James Bond/MGM situation plays out. Brian Grazer is producing with Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and Platinum Studios' Scott

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo UK Trailer

Investigative reporter Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) has been convicted of libel and, his career in ruins, accepts an offer from a wealthy recluse to write a family history. Researcher and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) agrees to help him - but her troubled past means that she has more serious problems than merely sorting through family records. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is out on March 12 here in the UK, followed by The Girl Who Played With Fire on

M. Night Shyamalan Talks Avatar: The Last Airbender

M. Night Shyamalan Talks Avatar: The Last Airbender And now for that other "Avatar" movie... For M. Night Shyamalan, it was his then 7-year old daughter who hooked him on the Nickelodeon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” “She made us watch as a family and all four of us were hooked, “ Shyamalan said. “I was like, 'This would make a killer movie. And my wife who really has been kind of in neutral about my career was insane about it. Insane about it: ‘You have to do it. This is it. This is the one.' ” M Night Shyamalan by Jennifer S Altman Ever since he shot to stardom with his film “The Sixth Sense” in 1999, Hollywood has tempted Shyamalan with franchise offers including, he says, an overture about directing the first “Harry Potter” film. He turned down all the other offers, but “Airbender,” with its fusion of Eastern philosophies and martial arts grabbed him. The series is set in a world where the four ancient elements -- fire, earth, water and air -- can be mani

Star Trek's Zachary Quinto Clears The Air About Star Trek 2

Star Trek's Zachary Quinto Clears The Air About Star Trek 2 Star Trek's Zachary Quinto is clarifying remarks he made to Wired that he was taking a break from the franchise for two years. Here's what he said: "I'm stepping away from Star Trek for at least two years—no movies, no conventions, no anything for a while," Quinto told Wired.com in a telephone interview. His planned absence from geekdom was a major motivation for doing the new game. "I did this game to make an investment in the fan base," the actor said. But on his Twitter feed Thursday, Quinto elaborated on what he meant: to clarify: i've been inundated w/questions/confusion about a comment i made during an interview w/ @wired re: atari star trek online game in which i said i'm stepping away from trek for next 2 yrs. obviously, i'll be a part of any upcoming films, reprising my role as spock. what i meant was that in the meantime i won't be making appearances related

Maria Bello And Russell Crowe Have "Emergency Sex," For HBO

Maria Bello And Russell Crowe Have "Emergency Sex," For HBO Maria Bello has teamed with Oscar winners Simon Beaufoy and Russell Crowe for a series project in the works at HBO. Bello is set to star in the drama "Emergency Sex," which is being written by "Slumdog Millionaire" scribe Beaufoy and executive produced by Bello, Beaufoy and Crowe. Inspired by the book "Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures: A True Story From Hell on Earth," by Kenneth Cain, Heidi Postlewait and Andrew Thomson, the project revolves around the larger-than-life exploits of expatriate nongovernment-organization workers who find their sanity tested in the face of atrocities, loneliness and primal desires. The book chronicles the real-life experiences of Cain, Postlewait and Thomson, who met in Cambodia during the 1990s as members of a UN peacekeeping mission. In addition to Crowe -- who purchased rights to the book for a screen adaptation -- Bello and Beaufoy

Miramax Is No More. Shut Down

Miramax Is No More. Shut Down But a lot of other people around the movie business mourned the impending loss of a label that once set the bar for taste and artistry. (Update Thursday: A Disney spokeswoman called to protest that Miramax is not 'dead.' "Miramax will consoldiate its operations within Walt Disney Studios, and will be releasing a smaller number of films than in previous years. But it will continue to operate within the Walt Disney Studios," she said.) Over 31 years, the movie company that for most of its existence was led by founders Harvey and Bob Weinstein brought the public enduring stories that plumbed the depths of human emotion (“My Left Foot”) and pushed the boundaries of cultural barriers (“Reservoir Dogs”). When we think of the movies that defined the latter part of the 20th century -- the movies that mattered, that stories that hit pop culture like a hammer and left a dent -- more often than not they came from Miramax. “The Piano.” “Pulp Ficti

Porn In 3D, Are You Ready?

Porn In 3D, Are You Ready? Should have seen this one coming. Porn in 3D, why has it taken them so long to jump on this bandwagon. Longtime Italian erotic film director Tinto Brass on Thursday announced that he would produce what he called the world's first-ever 3D pornographic production. Brass, 76, best known for his 1979 film "Caligula," which he directed in collaboration with noted author Gore Vidal and magazine publisher Bob Guccione, said the time is right for 3D technologies to be used to create an erotic film. He noted that the project, which he said will be the world's first 3D erotic film, will also be the first 3D film of any type made in Italy. Brass said that with the film he plans to "revisit an abandoned project about a Roman emperor that was ruined by Americans, and go from there," a reference to "Caligula," which he has criticized because of hard-core sex scenes added during postproduction without his consent. He said he would start

Zac Efron Heading Into The "Fire"

Zac Efron Heading Into The "Fire" The list of young actors who transition to adult leading men isn’t that long... Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Christian Bale, etc. Zac Efron is hoping to make that transition so he’s linked himself to a pair of projects he hopes will give him the chance to broaden his range. One of them would be his first action turn, in a Ludlum-esque spy thriller. Efron has a just made a deal at Universal for Fire, an adaptation of a graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis that was published by Image Comics. The plan is for Efron to play a college student who is recruited by the CIA, only to find that he has been trained for a program that creates expendable agents. Bendis, the fanboy favorite whose comic book creations include "Ultimate Spider-Man", will write the script. While little material moves during Sundance, Efron and Bendis got the deal after they schlepped around to three studios, pitching the project on a rainy day last Friday. The project has

Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps Teaser Trailer

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Teaser Trailer Director Oliver Stone has often reflected upon the nation's past in such films as Platoon,Born on the Fourth of July,JFK and Nixon. But, unlike history, he doesn't like to repeat himself. Until now, that is, when Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to his 1987 descent into the dirty business of corporate raiding, opens this spring. The film is set 23 years after the first film, in June 2008,and Gordon Gekko has just been released from prison. Despite his initial attempts to warn Wall Street of the forthcoming economic downturn and stock market crash, no one believes him due to his reduced standing in the financial world. Gekko decides to re-focus his attention on rebuilding his relationship with his estranged daughter, Winnie. Due to their time apart, and the fact that Winnie( Carey Mulligan ) blames Gekko for her brother Rudy's suicide, she avoids any contact with him. At the same time, the mentor( Lewis Zabel ) of yo

The Comedy Store Film To Be Produced By Tom Hanks

The Comedy Store Film To Be Produced By Tom Hanks Tom Hanks is quietly developing a movie based partially on the life of Mitzi Shore. Yes: She is Pauly Shore’s Mom, but she also founded L.A. Comedy Store, which is in fact where a lot of older generation comedians got their start, like David Letterman and Jay Leno. If you’re a popular comedian in your late 40s or 50s, chances are, you worked The Comedy Store at some point, and that list includes Eddie Murphy, Tim Allem, Bob Saget, Chevy Chase, Jim Belushi, Jim Carrey, etc., etc. The narrative arc of the story, which is based on William Knoedelseder’s nonfiction book, I’m Dying Up Here: Heartbreak and High Times in Stand-up Comedy’s Golden Era , focuses on the years around 1978 and Mitzi Shore’s policy of not paying comics for their stand-up performances. Her theory was that The Comedy Store was something of a training ground — a college for comedians, a workshop for new material — and she felt no obligation to pay for their acts beside

Alice In Wonderland Images and Featurette

Alice In Wonderland Images and Featurette Disney Pictures has released some new concept art and pictures for the upcoming Time Burton's Alice In Wonderland. Also I included a short featurette for you to enjoy. Disney has declared every Wednesday until the film comes out "Wonderland Wednesdays." So enjoy. THE KNAVE OF HEARTS (Crispin Glover) is the head of the Red Queen’s Army. Seven feet, six-inches tall, with a scarred face and a heart-shaped patch covering his left eye, Stayne is an arrogant, tricky character who follows the Red Queen’s every order. He’s the only one capable of pacifying her and calming her dramatic mood swings. “I am the martial element for the Red Queen,” says Glover. “The Red Queen has a fair amount of short-tempered reactions to things that people do, and so my character has to be quite diplomatic.” His darker side emerges in the shadows of the castle hallways. THE WHITE RABBIT (voice of Michael Sheen) is always late, always in a hurry, always ru

"La Femme Nikita" Ordered By The CW

"La Femme Nikita" Ordered By The CW The CW has picked up the pilot, an update of the 1990s action-thriller "La Femme Nikita." The French film "Nikita," about a young criminal who's trained to be an assassin by a top-secret government organization, was originally made by Luc Besson in 1990, then was remade in 1993 as a U.S. film starring Bridget Fonda called "Point of No Return." The story was then launched as a TV series in 1997 on USA Network. "Nikita" will give The CW its first non-supernatural action-drama. In this version, Nikita goes rogue and a new assassin is trained to replace her. McG ("Terminator: Salvation," "Human Target") will executive produce the "Nikita" remake, along with Peter Johnson and Craig Silverstein (episodes of "Bones," "K-Ville"), who will write and exec produce. George Lucas Planning A CGI Film Starring "Fairies"

George Lucas Planning A CGI Film Starring "Fairies" The untitled, top-secret CGI-animated film is in preproduction at Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch in Marin County. The project marks a rare foray outside the “Star Wars” universe for Lucas who, while not directing a movie since “Revenge of the Sith” in 2005, is putting the finishing touches on “Red Tails,” the adventure movie that tells the World War II story of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first black pilots. Lucas wrote the screenplay for “Tails” and is exec producing. Read my Exclusive interview with Lucas here . Kevin Munroe is directing the CGI film, which is expected to feature music from a variety of sources. Munroe hails from the animated world and made his directorial debut in 2007 with the fourth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, “TMNT.” He recently wrapped production on his live-action debut, the adaptation of the “Dead of Night” comic that stars Brandon Routh and Taye Diggs. David Berenbaum, who wrote the Will Ferrel

Smallville: Absolute Justice Trailer

Smallville: Absolute Justice Trailer The two-hour "Absolute Justice" arc seems like it might be the thing that brings me back to "Smallville." This season Clark takes his superhero persona into obsessive territory when he leaves behind those he cares for so that he can focus solely on Jor-El's training. In order to accomplish this, Clark wears a new costume that sports his family crest on the chest. The theme of the season is about Clark finally embracing his alien heritage, while also being his darkest hour thus far. As a result, Clark's relationship with Chloe and Oliver will suffer this season. Season nine will also see the introduction of more DC Comics characters, including multiple episode appearances for the Justice Society of America, villain Metallo, and villainess Agent Amanda Waller. Written by prolific comic creator Geoff Johns, "Absolute Justice" will feature the debut of one of my favorite superhero teams: The Justice Society of Ameri

Kevin Feige Talks Upcoming Marvel Films

Kevin Feige Talks Upcoming Marvel Films Kevin Feige went onto to talk about the upcoming Marvel films and how it will effect The upcoming Avengers movie which is slated for May 4, 2012. Also read the fine detail some interesting news about possible movies that might get made.Or characters that could return. "It's fun now, and we're introducing some new characters in ['Iron Man 2']," he told the magazine. "But it's not about just cramming in lots of new people; that's sort of the cardinal sin of the sequel - adding in too many characters. This is totally Tony Stark's story. And that's gonna weave into Thor's story, and Steve Rogers' story, and it's already ingrained with Nick Fury's story and an organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D." He says that it is important to first focus on each character. "My only concern is that when we launch a franchise--whichever character's franchise that may be--it should stand on it

Green Lantern Concept Art Work For The Film

Green Lantern Concept Art Work For The Film Some concept art form the upcoming Warner Bros. Film Green Lantern has made it's way onto the web. Cosmicbooknews bring us these pictures and apparently the pictures have been verified by a source The pictures can be from the first stage of drawing with some many concept pictures being done daily who knows who is in and out. Director Martin Campbell said this, "Well, Kilowog will be [in it]. Tomar-Re is in it. Sinestro is in it. Abin Sur is in it. All the origin people. Carol [Ferris], of course, who will be played by Blake Lively. All the main characters are there, and it's a complex story. The origin story of Green Lantern is complex, probably one of the most complex, which makes it a challenge to get it right." Now, based on a script we found a couple years back at a comic book message board, Carol Ferris and Sinestro will not be the full fledged villains, but the characters will be set up as the villains for a second

Steve Carell Next Project To Be Directed By Glenn Ficarra and John Requa

Steve Carell Next Project To Be Directed By Glenn Ficarra and John Requa Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are in negotiations to direct Warner Bros.' untitled Steve Carell/Dan Fogelman project. Written as a spec by Fogelman, the comedy with dramatic elements follows a father deals with a marital crisis while managing a relationship with his children. Carell is attached to star and is producing via his Warners-based Carousel Productions. Denise Di Novi is also producing. The boarding of Ficarra and Requa now puts Carell on two tracks at Warners as to what movie he chooses to do during his hiatus this spring. The other project is "Mail-Order Groom," for which Carell may team-up with Tina Fey. Ficarra and Requa just finished a rewrite of the project, which has no director. Both seem to be neck and neck at this stage. Ficarra and Requa, best known for penning "Bad Santa, wrote and directed "I Love You Phillip Morris," which stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor and op

"Jersey Shore" Cast Getting Close To Signing

"Jersey Shore" Cast Getting Close To Signing The cast of "Jersey Shore" is currently on track to keep fist-pumping into Season 2. With MTV having stepped up its offer to $10,000 per episode, sources say negotiations have taken "a positive turn," though the deals are still not done. Agreements could be reached by the end of the week for a second round of MTV's breakout hit, whose cast collectively rebelled against the network's ridiculously low salaries for freshman performers (MTV's villainous-sounding "end of day" deadline that was widely reported Monday was supposedly hot air). MTV is eager to get the cast shooting a new season to air in late summer -- July or August. Please Leave A Comment - Source- THR

Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes Sequel In Lobo Out

Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes Sequel In Lobo Out Director Guy Ritchie has set aside the planned "Lobo" film to clear his schedule for a fast-tracked "Holmes" sequel, according to producer Joel Silver. "Holmes" has pulled in $389 million in worldwide box office since its Christmas Day release and looks to add to that with overseas releases still pending in Germany, Japan, France and several other markets. The role of the famed literary detective also just earned Robert Downey Jr. a surprise Golden Globe, suggesting that the actor might still be in play for an Oscar nomination next week. Silver is a producer of "Holmes" as well as "Lobo," which would adapt the ultra-violent antihero from the pages of DC Comics. Ritchie, who burst on the scene with "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" in 1998, has his biggest commercial success with "Holmes," and Warner Bros. wants to parlay that into a franchise as quickly as possible,

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows To Be In 3D

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows To Be In 3D Thanks Avatar, now every movie that comes out will be thinking about being in 3D. Slowly evolving from fad to Standard Blockbuster Procedure (the jury's still out on whether it'll slip back into "just a phase territory, but post-Avatar, that won't be for a while), 3D is going to Hogwarts. Yes, both chunks of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows will be converted to the format. Warners was apparently closed-mouthed when asked to confirm, so until the official announcement this is technically a rumour. But that shoe is expected to drop before the week - and knowing the speed at which these things move in the Internet age, the day - is over. Each film will cost $5 million to convert and the process will also shove the release date of Titans back a week to 2nd April. The Potter pics are still on course for 19th November of this year and 15th July 2011 respectively. Who wants to bet one of the 3D glasses companies will mark

Mortal Kombat 3 In The Works

Mortal Kombat 3 In The Works "Finish Him" They should finish the franchise by not making another Mortal Kombat film in my option. The first movie directed by Paul WS Anderson's wasn't a bad film when it first came out. But the second film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, had to one of the worst films ever. The nice guys over at Bloody Disgusting received word that Warner Bros. Pictures has been looking to redo Mortal Kombat with Oren Uziel in talks to write. Based on Midway's popular 1992 video game, the franchise follows the best fighters from around the globe who are summoned to an island to compete in a tournament whose outcome will determine the fate of the entire planet. Uziel's Shimmer Lake made the 2009 black list, which features the best unproduced screenplays around Hollywood. Johnny Cage was modeled after Jean-Claude Van Damme. No word on the progress of the remake, but we'd like to see a hard "R" version with some actual f*cking fatalities.

MAG Playstations Answer To Modern Warfare 2

MAG Playstations Answer To Modern Warfare 2 Modern Warfare 2 you better watch your 6 someone is right behind you. Console action game fans are used to shooting it out with 16 or 18 other players, but upcoming Sony release MAG is about to kick it up a notch. And by "a notch" we mean "about 240 notches." Set in the year 2025, where private military forces are warring over lucrative contracts, MAG's online matches will support up to 256 individual players -- a first for console shooters. MAG A truly Massive Action Game. A recipe for chaos? Maybe, but at least MAG has a chain of command. Players are organized into eight-man squads, each with its own commanding officer. Four squads make a platoon, four platoons forms a company, and players head up each level of organization. If you've ever played an online game, you may be wondering exactly how that's going to reduce confusion. So you'll be relieved to hear the developers don't just let any ra

3D Glass What Really Happens To Them When The Curtains Fall?

3D Glass What Really Happens To Them When The Curtains Fall? Do you ever wonder what happens to the 3D glass that you get at the theater? And wonder what really happens to them after the movie. James Cameron's Avatar continues its march toward box-office domination: As of this weekend, its sixth since being released, it's become the second-highest grossing film of all time (not adjusted for inflation). They usually get washed or recycled. There are a number of manufacturers battling for control of the 3-D market. Most of these companies make reusable glasses, though the market leader, RealD, primarily makes single-use spectacles. (RealD has also launched a line of reusable designer glasses.) Reusable glasses are generally collected in trays and then cleaned in a dishwasherlike machine (or, in some cases, in an actual dishwasher). IMAX Corporation has its own, proprietary washers that exhibitors are required to use on-site. Dolby Laboratories demands that theaters use a commerci

Priest Is A Vampire Story Set In The Old West

Priest Is A Vampire Story Set In The Old West Director Scott Stewart and actor Paul Bettany had so much fun working together on Legion that they teamed up again for Priest, an upcoming futuristic vampire story based on a Korean comic book. In the movie, Jedi-like warrior priests battle vampires in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that's like the Old West. Thing is, the comic book wasn't a future story and didn't deal with vampires; rather, it was set in the actual Old West, and its main character, the immortal priest Ivan Isaacs, instead battles fallen angels. That might seem like a big change, but Priest creator Hyung Min-woo doesn't mind. "Min-woo came out and visited us over the summer," Stewart said in a group interview last week in Los Angeles. "He'd read a translation of the script and came out and was really, really pleased with what he saw. We talk about the graphic novels as being the past, and [the film version of] Priest is kind of the future.&
