BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Gundam Is Finally Getting A Live-Action Movie

Going up in Japan I was obsessed with Gundam and always wondering what was taking so longer to get a film made. The popularity of giant robots shows no signs of slowing down. Transformers is getting a reboot in Bumblebee, Voltron is thriving in animated form on Netflix, and now Gundam is set for a new big-screen outing. As announced at the Anime Expo 2018 in LA, Legendary Entertainment is working animation studio Sunrise on a live-action movie based on the iconic Japanese mecha saga. It’s very early days on the project – there’s no writer, director or star attached as of yet, no proposed release date, and it’s unknown what angle on the material will be taken. However, the studio has released a synopsis on the world of Gundam: “The original Gundam series is set in the Universal Century, an era in which humanity’s growing population has led people to emigrate to space colonies. Eventually, the people living in the colonies seek their autonomy, and launch a war of independence agai

#InsidetheBucket Podcast #87

This week's episode of Inside the Bucket is online! Revel in the digital mastery! On this edition of Inside the Bucket, Matt is joined by Sandwich John to give you all this week's movie and television news and reviews from our website SANDWICHJOHNFILMS.COM . The boys bring every bit of their greasy, ballsy attitude to discuss several items of supposed importance. Things start off with a review of this week's movie news, including our thoughts about all those Super Bowl 50 movie trailers, news about the franchising of Transformers, and an update on the Star Trek CBS television series. They also break down the box office weekend, as Deadpool, How to Be Single, and Zoolander 2 . The boys also discuss movies and television shows hitting Blu-ray this week. Then it's headlong into Rants and Raves, where John and Matt bitch and gripe about all the things they've been watching a reading about this week, including a Amazon's Bosch season 2, John's review

Michael Bay To Direct Another #Transformers Film

Every time Michael Bay confirms he’s directing a new Transformers installment, it seems as though he’s also announcing that this will definitely be his last time running around with the robots. He’s preparing to make the fifth film and, as always, is convinced it’s his final fling with the franchise. Talking with Rolling Stone while busily finishing his latest, based-on-reality thriller 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi , Bay mentions Transformers , and the magazine’s visit to his palatial Miami home also finds him in conference with a team from ILM about early effects work for the film, including a crashed alien spaceship and a new dumper truck robot featuring a cloak. Yes, we’re definitely back in Bay Transformers territory. He’s quick to add, however, that he really, truly wants to step off the tiring train that is the franchise this time. "Transformers, I still have a great time. It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last

Hope Your Ready For More #Transformers Films

More “Transformers” — much more, in fact — is on the way. Variety is reporting Hasbro chief Steven J. Davis confirmed in a Q&A that a “ Transformers” 5, 6, 7 and 8 are in the works at a Q&A at Mipcom. “We just finished, as some of you may have read, just an incredible experience,” he said. “We decided that we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got together in a room over a three-month period of time.” “Nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with, shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind and written a bunch of great movies,” he went on. “And they plotted out the next 10 years of Transformers. Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, Transformers 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8.” Paramount, the studio behind the action movies, previously confirmed that the “Transformers” universe was expanding with sequels and spino

Inside the Bucket Podcast #61

This week's episode of Inside the Bucket is online! Revel in the digital mastery! On this Memorial Day weekend edition of I nside the Bucket , Matt is joined by television writers Sue, David, and Brandon who basically don't respect Matt and his rather Machiavellian recording rules. Who they do respect is all of you great listeners and followers of our site, and sit down to deliver the best movie and television news from our website SANDWICHJOHNFILMS.COM . Beginning with news, the trio discusses Simon Pegg's quote about Star Trek being "too Trek-y" as well Cinematographer Roger Deakens joining Blade Runner 2 . They delve into the frankly awful selection of Blu-rays being released this week and then break down an interesting box office weekend. Please check out these and many other stories which we've included below. After several drinks and a quick nap, they go into Rants and Raves, where they bitch and complain about all the things they're

Drama On The Set Of Transformers: Age Of Extinction

There have been reports today that Michael Bay got into a fight on the set of Transformers: Age Of Extinction . However, our sources on set say not so! There was an incident, but this was not a case where a passionate director riled a member of his cast and crew sufficiently that punches were thrown nor, according to this report, did it involve two brothers. Here is the rather more sad report from the set. "Contrary to several erroneous news reports, Bay did not get hurt in a fight on his set. The production company did have a rather bizarre encounter with a man (allegedly under the influence of a narcotic substance) who was wielding an air conditioning unit as his weapon of choice. "The young man, who had earlier accosted several other crew members, barreled onto the set in Quarry Bay and swung the cumbersome appliance directly at Bay's head. The director ducked and wrested the air conditioner from his attacker, preventing what could have been a serious accident.

New Look AutoBots For Transformers 4

One of the biggest movie heroes on six wheels is getting an overhaul for his next appearance on screen. Michael Bay has released pictures of the new, updated Optimus Prime , the leading big rig in the " Transformers " series, as the vehicle will appear in truck form in the upcoming " Transformers 4 ." The new machine looks sleeker and more upscale than before, a vehicle any trucker would be proud to take out on the highway. Which Autobot could this green machine be? It's a special race-inspired C7 Corvette Stingray, based on Chevrolet's upcoming 2014 production car — and the first look is seen here on the set of "Transformers 4" near the border of Arizona and Utah Manufactured by Western Star, a division of Daimler Trucks North America, the new Optimus Prime has the traditional dark blue paint job with stylish red flames highlighted by pinstripes, as well as gleaming exhaust stacks that curl up to the sky at an angle from behind the

Transformers 4 Logo & Update

Transformers fansite TFW2005.com  recently attended the UBS Best Of Americas 2012 Conference, where Hasbro president Brian Goldner talked about the company's plans for the future – including Transformers 4 and Stretch Armstrong . The key point taken from his otherwise toy-centric speech is that fans can expect brand new robot characters in the next film , if only because sales of the plastic children distracters for the third film were somewhat disappointing. "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon did well in box office," says Goldner. "Regarding toy sales... it’s because of same characters in all three movies. This is why Transformers 4 will have a new cast of [robot] characters and it will be a story revolving around these new characters." Another key tidbit Goldner let slip was that Stretch Armstrong will have a movie as well as a TV series in 2014, but it was the chance to speculate about which new robots Transformers addicts can look forward to seeing smas

Justice League & Transformers Crossover That Could Have Been

File this one under "Please Don't Let It Die." Comic artist Phil Jimenez pitched an epic idea of joining the ranked realms of Superman and Batman with the Autobots and Decepticons . But it was killed in committee. Here's why ... The tricky world of corporate licensing is the prime reason this dream project won't see any starlight. DC Comics passed on the recent crossover pitch, no doubt due to legal wrangling with IDW Publishing, which owns the Transformers comic license, Hasbro, which owns the master license, and their mega marketing partner Marvel. Any way you slice it, the mere sight of a titanic, rampaging Bat-former, Optimus Prime sporting a Green Lantern ring or Megatron waving a torn Superman cape makes us misty. "Oh, what an epic that would have been," wrote Jimenez on Twitter . "You missed out on Wonder Woman's invisible jet becoming a very cool Transformer." Please Leave A Comment- Source- Blastr Via CBM

Josh Duhamel Takes The Scenic Route

Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler will star in Scenic Route , directed by Kevin and Michael Goetz. Written by Kyle Killen (The Beaver), the film follows two former college buddies who go on a road trip and become stranded in the desert. As they begin to realize they might never be rescued, they begin to have heated fights, both emotionally and physically. In addition to Scenic Route, Fogler will star alongside Kal Penn in the comedy pilot Prairie Dogs from ABC Studios/ABC. He will play Roj, one of the programmers, or “prairie dogs,” who work with Neil (Penn) at EGG Technologies. Fogler’s credits include Relativity’s Take Me Home Tonight, Disney’s Mars Needs Moms, Focus Features’ Balls Of Fury and Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock. He is currently co-directing and producing the film Don Peyote through his production company Studio 13, which he co-founded.  Duhamel’s credits include the Transformers franchise, Life As We Know It and the upcoming Fire With Fire starring Bruce Willis and Rosario

Transformers 4 Could Be On The Way If The Price Is Right

On the strength of third quarter profits from their line of Transformers toys , not to mention the $1.1 billion the third movie raked in worldwide, Hasbro is in talks with Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay for Transformers 4 . Bay had said following the release of the third Transformers movie that he was done with the franchise, though somewhere deep down inside, I think we all knew he would return if the price was right (at least as a producer, if not director). To date, the three Transformers movies helmed by Bay have rung up $2.6 billion worldwide, with each film eclipsing the prior’s box office total. Hasbro has had a handful of board game movie adaptations dropped recently including Ouija, Candyland and Risk . While the company is still actively pursuing a Monopoly movie and a second Clue film, CEO Brian Goldner also revealed that company is in talks with J.J. Abrams to produce a Micronauts movie. Hasbro acquired the rights to the interchangeable Japanese toys recently

Star Trek Screenwriters Talk About The Sequel

Sequel To Follow The lines Of “The Empire Strikes Back The 2009 reboot of “ Star Trek ” was a shining moment for fans of sci-fi and spectacle films and the sequel, due in 2012, may well follow the box-office trajectory of the Christopher Nolan Gotham City films — “Batman Begins” earned the credibility with fans old and new and then “The Dark Knight” delivered the billion-dollar payoff. “ Star Trek ” writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci , the tandem that also penned “ Transformers ” and next summer’s “ Cowboys & Aliens ” and also created the Fox sci-fi series “ Fringe ,” are back to script the sequel. The LATimes caught up with the screenwriters, who talked about the challenges ahead and also shared a playful aspiration — an on-screen showdown between Captain Kirk and Darth Vader . LT: It’s early days on the “Star Trek” sequel, but is there anything you can tell us about the story direction, tone or even the types of challenges you’re anticipating with this next-step projec

Jon Favreau Calls 2011 Box Office A Blood Bath

Jon Favreau Calls 2011 Box Office A Blood Bath Jon Favreau has seen Hollywood’s future — at least as far as summer 2011 – and it looks a lot like “Saving Private Ryan.” “It’s Omaha Beach, it’s going to be a bloodbath,” the filmmaker said of next year’s crush of big special-effects films, remakes and sequels. “There’s never been a summer like this next summer. It’s going to be bloody [for filmmakers and the studios]. As we were sticking thumb tacks in a calendar we realized that this is going to be looked back upon as Omaha Beach.” Favreau, the director of the “Iron Man“ films, is well known to moviegoers as an on-screen funny guy in movies like “ Couples Retreat ” or the sublime “ Swingers “ (which he also wrote), but he wasn’t joking a bit when he said Hollywood is going to be in “a pit fight” next summer because of a glut of high-profile releases that will translate to some big-name disappointments just because of the numbers game. Favreau has a sci-fi horse in the race, of c
