Samara Weaving Cast As Scarlett In Upcoming Snake Eyes Film

Having just enjoyed a breakout role in horror comedy thriller Ready Or Not , Samara Weaving has naturally been pursued by studios for big films. She's now landed a role in the new G.I. Joe spin-off film, Snake Eyes . Crazy Rich Asians' Henry Golding is playing the title character, a trained ninja who ends up a key member of the Joes despite rarely taking off his mask or saying much of anything. Historically, he's also been known for his long-term romance with Scarlett (Weaving's role if she makes a deal) one of the original parts of the team. The story will focus on Snake Eyes' quest for vengeance in the wake of his father's death and his training alongside blood brother (and ultimately, enemy) Storm Shadow ( Andre Koji ) under the tutelage of Hard Master ( Iko Uwais ). We'll also see the evil agent known as the Baroness ( Úrsula Corberó ) Robert Schwentke will direct, working from a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos. The film itself is set for release

Henry Golding In Talks To Play Snake Eyes In G.I. Joe Spin-Off

Empire is reporting for Henry Golding is in talks to play silent ninja commando Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe spin-off film. Robert Schwentke is on to direct the film with Evan Spiliotopoulos providing the script. It'll be interesting to see how they treat the character, since his trademark is that he never reveals his face and doesn't speak. We'd have to guess that with Golding now circling the lead, the new film will not only have his face on screen, but have him actually saying something. And also? Surely blood-brother-turned-nemesis Storm Shadow will play a part. Paramount and Hasbro have been looking at ways to do more with the Joe franchise, including yet another reboot of the main team in development. As for Golding, he's reunited with his A Simple Favour director Paul Feig for Last Christmas (which just put its first trailer out) and will appear in Guy Ritchie's The Gentleman, out next year. Snake Eyes Film Has Found It's Director

THR is reporting Robert Schwentke , who directed two installments of the Divergent sci-fi action movie series, has been tapped to helm Paramount’s G.I. Joe spinoff pic centering on the popular character Snake Eyes . Evan Spiliotopoulos, the writer of 2017's Beauty and the Beast and 2016's The Huntsman: Winter’s War , penned the script, and Brian Goldner is among those producing the feature based on the Hasbro toy line. Snake Eyes is the silent ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics’ relaunch of the toy line, dubbed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. The character, who dresses in all black, never reveals his face and never speaks, stood out among the military anti-terrorist group and quickly established himself as the most popular. He had a special relationship with Scarlett, for a while the team’s only female member, and sometimes carried out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber. His sworn enemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who
