#Hulu To Offer Commercial Free TV

Today Hulu is offering a commercial-free option to subscribers. Viewers now have the choice to watch Hulu commercial free for $11.99 per month or with limited commercials for $7.99 per month . Current Hulu subscribers will maintain their existing subscription, but will have the choice to switch to the commercial-free option at any time for an additional $4 per month. For viewers who choose to watch content with limited commercials, Hulu will continue to show fewer commercials than scheduled television. “At Hulu, we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and giving them the best possible experience,” said Mike Hopkins, CEO, Hulu. “Many of our customers have asked us for a commercial free option, and so today we are excited to introduce just that. HULU’S ‘THE HOTWIVES OF LAS VEGAS’ CAST ANNOUNCED NEW AND RETURNING HOTWIVES JOIN THE SECOND SEASON OF THE HIT ORIGINAL SERIES Hulu along with Paramount Digital Entertainment revealed their all-star cast of comedians who will join The Hotwives of Las Vegas, the follow up season to their hit original series The Hotwives of Orlando. The second season is set to premiere exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus with episodes to stream weekly starting on Tuesday, August 18. Survey: Consumers Now Prefer Streaming vs Live TV

What do the survey's results mean for the future of television? Story by Matt Cummings Ours is a world driven by technology. From smart devices to web apps, technology has affected the way we live every minute of our lives. And according to a new survey, it's affecting the way people consume entertainment. According to The Deloitte Digital Democracy Survey , US consumers are now more willing to watch streaming entertainment than tune in to it via live TV. The ninth annual results were published by the consulting firm Deloitte, who sampled 2,076 US consumers from Nov. 3-19, 2014. Here is just some of the landmark data: Services such as Netflix, who now have subscribers in approximately 42% of American households, have overtaken live television as the most preferred way to watch programming. Rumors Abound About Constantine

Showrunner Says It's Not Over Yet By David Clark Gossip has abounded in recent months regarding the cult NBC show Constantine . Since the network announced early renewals that did not mention Constantine fans of the series have feared a premature end to the dry humored hero. In a bewildered attempt to placate fan fears Daniel Cerone took to Twitter and explained the show’s status. Over a series of tweets Cerone revealed NBC’s renewal press release in February was not fully inclusive of all the networks intentions moving forward. Cerone seemed surprised by the assumption the show was already canceled. “NBC made some early pickups but #Constantine not canceled” . According to Daniel, NBC has yet to even hear a pitch regarding the second season of Constantine. “We'll pitch them our plans for 2nd season in May. Then they decide,” said Cerone. Until the pitch is made it would seem premature to assume cancellation is inevitable despite ratings projection

J.J. Abrams & Stephen King Team Up For A Hulu Series

Hulu is in the Bad Robot business. The streaming service has handed out a straight-to-series order for a nine-hour event series from J.J. Abrams ' Bad Robot Productions and based on Stephen King 's 2011 novel, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting. The series is described as a thriller in which high school English teacher Jake Epping travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love and the past itself … which doesn’t want to be changed. Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, The Red Road) will pen the script and exec produce the drama alongside King and Bad Robot's Bryan Burk. Bad Robot's Kathy Lingg will co-exec produce and Athena Wickham will produce. The drama hails from Warner Bros.
