Movie Review: #Vacation

Vacation makes me want to take a STAY-cation. Review by Matt Cummings It's not too often that a movie makes me wish film never existed, yet her I am ready to give the newest Vacation all the hate it deserves. And hate on it I will. Grown-up Rusty (Ed Helms) is stuck in a dull marriage to Debbie (Christina Applegate), who's been forced year after year to spend vacation with her family at a cabin in Michigan. When the overly optimistic Rusty realizes his family needs a change, he packs them up for a trip to Walley World, the site of his greatest trip as a teen. But soon, his family begins to encounter difficulties and flat-out disasters that could end their road trip and return Rusty's marriage back to square one. It might surprise our readers to know that someone from our team actually considered walking out of Vacation , and we get to see these films for free. That's how bad our experience became as we sat mesmerized by its 99 minutes of ineptit

Say Hello To The Griswold's

Esquire scored the first official image from the National Lampoon's Vacation reboot. The Powers That Be have wanted to remake 1983's Chevy Chase -led National Lampoon's Vacation since 2009, if not before. Despite a string of sex-crazed, low-rent, direct-to-DVD excuses-for-movies sullying the Lampoon film brand throughout the late '90s and 2000s, a new Vacation movie was top priority. The goal was to bring Chase's Clark Griswold back as a grandfather. Brilliant! Or, logical enough. The idea percolated. It was happening. Then it wasn't? Then it was. Ed Helms joined the rumor party in 2012, supposedly taking on the role of Clark Griswold's son Rusty. Then the idea faded. Maybe people didn't really wan—WAIT HOLD ON. Like a Christmas bonus arriving in miracle time, a Vacation-loving studio executive packed up the reboot's bags and hit the road towards your local multiplex. The movie was happening, with Chase, Helms, Beverly D'Angelo , and Ch

Vacation Reboot Moved Up To July

The Griswolds are now taking a summer vacation. By Brandon Wolfe Warner Bros. has shuffled the Griswolds’ latest vacation plans as it has bumped up the release date of the Vacation reboot/sequel from October 9 to July 31. This is perhaps a huge vote of confidence in the film, as its strongest competition in October was the Steve Jobs biopic, whereas now it’s going up against Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation – another film kicked up to summer unexpectedly from a late-year release - which opens the same day (not to mention all the other big summer contenders that will be in theaters around that time). However, the only true comedy competition Vacation will face will come from Trainwreck , which opens two weeks prior and will probably prove less formidable a foe by the time the Griswolds come out of the gate, so maybe this is a shrewd move. Vacation stars Ed Helms, Leslie Mann, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. Discuss this story w

Movie Review: Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is one of the worst films of the year, and we're still in February. Movie gods, hear our pleas! Review by Matt Cummings It doesn't happen too often when I can call a film dead on arrival, but in the case of the franchise-killing Hot Tub Time Machine 2 , I can both confidently state its supreme and utter lack of worth, while urging you to stay away at any cost. Jumping off from the end of 2010's Hot Tub Time Machine , Lou (Rob Coddry) and Nick (Craig Robinson) have made fabulous wealth over the years from their stealing of other people's intellectual property before they themselves had a chance to make it. Meanwhile, Lou's son Jacob (Clark Duke) hasn't taken advantage, relegated instead to being Lou's butler and Adam (John Cusak) is nowhere to be found. But as a guest at Lou's party shoots one of them in their privates, the trio must set off in the time machine to find the murderer, finding themselves in 2025 and mee

Chris Hemsworth Joins The Cast For 'Vacation' Update

Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are taking a little Vacation. The actors are in negotiations to sign on for roles in New Line’s reboot-slash-remake to the classic 1980s comedy series that starred Chevy Chase . John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein wrote the script and are making their directorial debut. The new movie sees Ed Helms starring as Rusty Griswold, the grown-up son of Clark Griswold ( Chase ) who takes his family on a road trip similar to the one he and his parents and sister took when he was young. Christina Applegate is on board as Rusty’s wife. Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are to make cameos in the movie, which begins shooting in September after having been delayed. Hemsworth , who sources say has been itching to do a comedy for awhile, will play Stone Crandall, an up-and-coming anchorman and the husband of Rusty’s sister, Audrey. The latter part has not yet been cast. Day will cameo as a river-rafting guide. The new movie is based on characters create

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Trailer

Check out the red band trailer from the December release. What do Adam Scott and The Terminator have in common? They're all a part of the red-band trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 , the follow-up to the 2010 comedy. Starring Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke the guys are back and living the life before Lou (Corddry) gets shot (in a very sensitive place) but an unknown assailant. Faced with a life without Lou, the trio return to the time machine, only to go forward in time to 2024. From there, we get a Terminator reference, a little Adam Scott, and the team's characteristic hijinks. Whether John Cusak Check out the trailer below: Hot Tub Time Machine 2 opens December 25, 2014.

New Hot Tub Time Machine Clip

New Hot Tub Time Machine Clip The clip shows all the guys trying to figure out what just happened and how does the time machine work. By the way the white powder around Craig Robinson is not flour.  In the clip Robinson talks about the time machine and the comparison to Terminator the film and what could have happen if they didn't send Michael Bean back in time. The film just looks like a good old retro 80's film with great comedy and an awesome soundtrack. There is some serious buzz about this movie and it is all good. I can not wait until Friday to go check out this film. Please Leave A Comment- Source- cinematical

New Line To Take Us On "Vacation" Again

New Line To Take Us On "Vacation" Again New Line is Going to bring us another "Vacation" film soon. The movie has brought in Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write the newest film. The latest project, which will no longer carry the National Lampoon credit, is being described as more of an update than a sequel and will be closer in tone to "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" than the previous chapters. Story will focus on Rusty Griswold, now a grown man, who decides to take his own wife and kids on a road trip to Wally World before it closes forever. Chase is expected to reprise his role as Clark Griswold, now a grandfather. "Vacation" marks Goldstein and Daley's fourth project at New Line in 2½ years. Most recently, they did an overhaul of "Horrible Bosses," about three friends who resolve to kill their employers. Seth Gordon ("King of Kong") is directing. Duo are rewriting "Burt Wonderstone" about a pr

Another "Vacation" Movie In The Works

Another "Vacation" Movie In The Works Do we really need another Vacation movie? They have killed this Franchise to death. Christmas Vacation 2 Was one of the worst movies that have ever been put out. I did enjoy European Vacation and Christmas Vacation was great with all the lights and was a pretty entertaining movie for its time. Will Anthony Michael Hall be in the movie as Rusty or Ethan Embry maybe coming back? The Warner Bros. division is developing a sequel of sorts to the 1983 comedy classic, with David Dobkin attached to produce and possibly direct. New Line is meeting with writers to write the script but the take is already developed: the story focuses on Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, the protagonists of the initial movies and portrayed by Chevy Chase. The younger Griswold is now a father in his own right and takes his family on a road trip vacation. The characters would acknowledge that first trip, making the movie more of a sequel than a reboot.
