After one week at the top of the US box office charts, The Meg lost its spot to new arrival Crazy Rich Asians , which opened to a $25.2 million weekend, according to studio estimates. And that was just the three days, as the new movie actually opened Wednesday, earning $34 million in total, ahead of expectations. The Meg may have sunk to second place, but it took in $21.1 million and has earned more than $83 million in a couple of weeks.
