BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

These Woman Are No One Hit Wonders

In a seven-figure preemptive deal, Sony Pictures is collaborating with Ryan Murphy on One Hit Wonders, a musical comedy pitch that will be written as a star vehicle for Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Beyonce and Andy Samberg . Murphy is attached to direct, and he will write the script with his Glee cohorts Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy will produce with Paltrow (who has practically become a Glee cast member) and the latter makes her debut as a producer on this film. Murphy hopes to direct it after he completes The Normal Heart. Paltrow, Witherspoon and Diaz will play three singers who each scored a top hit song in the 1990s before watching their careers go down the drain. They decide to form a super group. Samberg and his Lonely Island cohorts will be involved in generating music for the film, I’m told. The project came out of a dinner Murphy had at the Soho House with Paltrow, Diaz and Witherspoon. They wanted to do something fun together and kicke...

Russell Crowe And Beyonce Born To Be Stars

Russell Crowe And Beyonce Born To Be Stars With a new remake of "A Star Is Born" gaining momentum at Warner Bros., the studio could be closing in on, well, a star. Russell Crowe has emerged as the front-runner to take the lead male role of an aging, alcoholic musician who mentors/is schooled by -- and then finds romance with -- a younger female star. The female part would likely be played by Beyonce, who has long been associated with the role and has recently elevated her interest in it. The three previous iterations of "A Star Is Born" have alternated between settings in the film and the music worlds. The most recent one, the 1976 version from Warner Bros. that starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson as doomed pair Esther Hoffman and John Norman Howard, was set in the music world. Nick Cassavetes has re...

Jay-Z and Beyonce Top Couple Earners Of 2009 Newlyweds Jay-Z and Beyonce earned $122 million together between June 2008 and June 2009, more than any other couple -- married or unmarried -- in entertainment. The listmakers at Forbes are at it again, this time determining Hollywood's top-earning couple. Beyonce and Jay-Z beat out the competition not only by churning out hit songs but also by attaching their names to Budweiser, American Express and a host of other brands. In this relationship, the wife out-earned the husband, $87 million-$35 million. In a distant second place, with a combined $69 million, was Harrison Ford and girlfriend Calista Flockhart, most of that coming courtesy of Ford's $65 million paycheck for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Partners Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are third with a combined $55 million, thanks to "Wanted," starring Jolie, and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," starring Pitt. Rounding ou...
