Variety is reporting after much murmuring, Fox has confirmed that a new “ Prison Break ” limited series is officially a go. Dana Walden and Gary Newman, co-chairs and CEOs at Fox Television Group, told journalists the news on Thursday at Fox’s Television Critics Association panel. They also confirmed that original series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell , as well as other original series actors, are also on board for the 10-episode project, which Walden called “a bit of a sequel.” She added that show creator Paul Scheuring “is writing it now” and it “picks up a few years after” the first series finale ended and “addresses questions that were set up during the series.” This news might be confusing to devout fans of the show who watched the straight-to-video film finale and therefore have questions about the casting news. “[Paul has] a very detailed and incredible story for while these characters become relevant again,” said Newman, while Walden added that there is

CW's superhero success is springing another baby. Story by Matt Cummings It's safe to say that CW's lineup (albeit small) of superhero television shows has been nothing short of an unqualified success. Arrow continues to deliver week after week, while The Flash has exploded in popularity, with quality bad guys, several as-yet-to-be-resolved story arcs, and excellent casting. Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin (Arrow and Flash, respectively) have even teamed up on each other's shows, which garnered some of CW's biggest ratings to date. Well, the network's number of superhero shows on is about to get bigger. Deadline is reporting that we'll soon see a show featuring casts from both shows in the first stand-alone team-up. A Prison Break reunion is coming to TV — on The Flash, that is. Dominic Purcell has boarded The CW comic-book drama as a DC Comics villain, reuniting with his Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller in the 10th episode. This marks the first time Purcell and Miller , who played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, will have appeared together since Prison Break ended in 2009. Purcell will play Mick Rory , a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Leonard Snart/Captain Cold ( Miller ) and becomes the villain known as Heatwave . Miller was cast in The Flash back in July and makes his debut in episode four. Purcell's character will also be heard from in that same episode. In DC Comics lore, Heatwave is a member of the Rogues, led by Captain Cold. Heatwave has been featured in animated form on shows such as Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In case you were wondering, The Disappointments Room is not the storage locker where Kate Beckinsale keeps the various drafts of the Whiteout screenplay. No, it’s actually a new supernatural thriller script she’s been offered and that I Am Number Four’s D.J. Caruso is down to direct. The Disappointments Room would see Beckinsale as a mother who moves her family to a storied mansion in the country. While it has plenty of land and a nice historical design, she discovers it also comes with a gruesome history and starts to slowly go insane with visions of a dead girl. We always hate it when the real estate agents leave that off the listing. Wentworth Miller , who has already proved his scripting chops with Stoker, wrote this one and the project is now set to be touted at the American Film Market. Of the strangest films of all time, one must place the zany The Dark Backward or even the mother of weirdness Begotten at the top. Yet a movie doesn't need to feature a hand growing out of your back, or depict the beginning of the world devoid of any comprehensible speaking lines to compete with these top performers. It's in this off light of comparison that the Nicole Kidman film Stoker settles in, offering itself as a strong candidate; sensually violent, completely unapologetic in its depictions, and cleverly directed, Stoker will infuriate some with its plodding but amaze many more with its disturbing storytelling and terrific acting. Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Oprah Winfrey, and Kate Forte are producing Universal's adaptation of the David Wroblewski best-seller. Wentworth Miller is picking up the keyboard again. Voltage Pictures ( The Hurt Locker) is joining New York-based Killer Films ( Boys Don't Cry, "Mildred Pierce" ) on The Disappointments Room , an original screenplay by Wentworth Miller . Nicolas Chartier and Zev Foreman of Voltage will team with Killer’s Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon to produce. The Disappointments Room is a dramatic thriller about a woman who moves into a mysterious old house in the country with her husband and young son, only to discover their new home comes with a dark past.
