BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#JeremiahTower : #LastMagnificent Trailer

JEREMIAH TOWER: THE LAST MAGNIFICENT explores the remarkable life of Jeremiah Tower, one of the most controversial and influential figures in the history of American gastronomy. Tower began his career at the renowned Chez Panisse in Berkeley in 1972, becoming a pioneering figure in the emerging California cuisine movement. After leaving Chez Panisse , due in part to a famously contentious relationship with founder Alice Waters , Tower went on to launch his own legendary Stars Restaurant in San Francisco. Stars was an overnight sensation and soon became one of America’s top-grossing U.S. restaurants. After several years, Tower mysteriously walked away from Stars and then disappeared from the scene for nearly two decades, only to resurface in the most unlikely of places: New York City’s fabled but troubled Tavern on the Green . There, he launched a journey of self-discovery familiar to anyone who has ever imagined themselves to be an artist. Featuring interviews by Mario Batali,

Travis Knight Tapped To Direct Transformers Bumblebee Spin-Off

File this one under "utterly unexpected director choices". It's not so much that Laika CEO Travis Knight , who last year directed the excellent Kubo And The Two Strings , has signed on to make the Transformers Bumblebee spin-off , more that we're a little surprised Knight would want to tackle such a film as his live-action debut. And yet: here we are. The movie, which represents Paramount's first attempt to widen the Transformers universe, has been in development for a while, spawned from the writers' room set up by the studio to generate an expanded cinematic universe for the Autobots and Decepticons. Christina Hodson has been at work on the script, with TF regulars Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Michael Bay acting as producers. The movie is intended to arrive in theaters next year, so Knight will have to put the pedal to the metal. As for Bay's current robo-conflict effort as director, Transformers: The Last Knight crashes in on 23 June. Please Leav

Movie Review: #BEFOREIFALL

It's like a TV movie you'd watch on channels like The CW RAMA delivers another review. The way to best describe “Before I Fall” is.. it’s as if The CW has their own Groundhog Day-esque TV movie. It does have twists and turns and its own interesting take on this overly used concept about a day that keeps inexplicably repeating itself again and again. But it really doesn’t get more of a teen drama than “Before I Fall” Zoey Deutch plays Samantha Kingston who seems to have it all, popular friends, popular boyfriend, Samantha’s even smart and very well-driven. The Valentine’s day is going well until the evening comes and a certain car crash happens that causes Samantha to relive the same day over and over again. She must then decide to figure out the mystery of why she’s stuck in that one single day and how she could make a difference in the lives of those around her. Kudos to rising star, Zoey Deutch, I think she does a fine job of carrying this movie as the lead, she

Movie Review: Table 19

I now pronounce this a waste of time. Review by Brandon Wolfe Eloise McGarry (Anna Kendrick) put in a lot of time and effort planning the wedding of her oldest friend. But after the bride’s brother/Eloise’s boyfriend, Teddy (Wyatt Russell, inheritor of none of Papa Kurt's charisma), dumped Eloise callously via text a few months back, Eloise was stripped of her maid-of-honor duties. As if that wasn’t enough of an indignity, she has also been relegated to the “loser table” at the wedding, Table 19. This is where guests who were courtesy-invited and didn’t have the good sense to RSVP in the negative go to die. Eloise finds herself seated alongside wizened ex-nanny Jo (June Squibb), eternally squabbling married couple Jerry and Bina Kepp (Craig Robinson and Lisa Kudrow), haplessly horny teen Renzo (Tony Revolori from The Grand Budapest Hotel ) and social misfit Walter (Stephen Merchant). Together, the group forms an uneasy alliance, emerging as an unlikely support group both for get

Blu-ray Review: #TrespassAgainstUs

The barely discernible Trespass Against Us can't decide what it is, and is therefore of little use to us. Review by Matt Cummings It's never a good sign when a major motion picture with A-list stars makes only $5,711 in its release. No, that's not a typo: Trespass Against Us made absolutely no money in its 2016 run, and the reasons become painfully clear as this snoozer unfolds. Rather than becoming a great crime drama or a terse family drama with violent resolutions, Trespass Against Us settles for far less and drags us down with it. The Cutler family lives on the very edge of accepted social norms. Living in the country and burning trash to keep warm, the family's travel trailers form a circle of defense against their illicit activities, lead by the father Colby (Brendan Gleeson). He's a low-level gangster through and through, convinced that schools are terrible, the police are worse, and that family is all that protects him. His eldest son Chad

Dave Chappelle Returns To #Netflix March 21st

He's back. And with plenty on his mind. Dave Chappelle returns with two stand-up specials from his personal comedy vault on March 21, only on Netflix. Chappelle and director Stan Lathan will produce an original stand-up comedy special exclusively for Netflix. Two additional never-before-seen specials come directly from Chappelle’s personal comedy vault. Directed by Lathan and filmed at Austin City Limits Live and The Hollywood Palladium, these represent Chappelle’s first concert specials in 12 years and are slated to be released simultaneously in 2017. Chappelle is a stand-up comedian and actor whose trademark wit and sharp irreverent social commentary most often explores race, popular culture, sex, drugs, politics and fame. The panoramic monologue he delivered during his debut on Saturday Night Live — the highest rated SNL in three years – was the comic relief the country needed following the 2016 Presidential election that personified our nation’s deep racial divide.
