MAGIC MIKE Review By: MattInRC MAGIC MIKE  is a surprisingly deep and serious film about love and male stripping that fails to keep our attention. Imagine that. MAGIC MIKE Takes It All Off In This International Trailer- Director Steven Soderbergh expresses the challenges of contemporary life in a way few do. From Ocean's Eleven to Traffic, it's all about the great price some people pay to get ahead and the lives they ultimately affect.  MAGIC MIKE  tries to make the case that those involved in the 'male review entertainment' field deal with problems of their own making, partially due to the nature of their chosen career (if one could call it that). And while the film is remarkably deep in expressing this lifestyle in funny and unique ways, the film loses steam midway through the third act, becoming a shadow of what it could have been. As speculation continues to swirl around the mystery of what Marvel movie will be released in May 2014 -- here's hoping that next month's Comic-Con will provide some answers -- Edgar Wright just quietly wrapped production on Ant-Man . But before you start hitting the tweet button, know this: it’s not the long-awaited Ant-Man movie but rather an Ant-Man test reel. Ant-Man is based on Marvel hero Hank Pym, a scientist who discovered a way to alter his size. He used a helmet to control armies of ants and also was a founding member of the Avengers. (Two other characters took up the mantle after Pym moved on -- one a thief named Scott Lang and the other a sketchy SHIELD agent.) Ant-Man, with Wright involved, was on the initial Marvel Studios slate that the company announced in the mid-2000s as it put Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk into development. IGN got their hands on the trailer for THE MAN WITH THE IRON FIST . Rapper/actor RZA , has made his own Kung Fu Movie with friend Eli Roth. The title is THE MAN WITH THE IRON FIST co-starring Russell Crowe, Jamie Chung, Lucy Liu, and Pam Grier , the project is also produced by another martial art flick fan, Quentin Tarantino. RZA has worked with Crowe before on American Gangster THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS stars and is directed by RZA as the title character, “a blacksmith who forges weapons for the inhabitants of a village in feudal China. They are forced to defend themselves, and before you know it, everybody is kung fu fighting.” Crowe’s role is not yet revealed but RZA said Crowe will have a fair share of on screen fighting and that his character will be the “baddest man alive” Watch the trailer after the Jump...
