WEST OF MEMPHIS Documentary Film Complete

WingNut Films proudly announced today the completion of WEST OF MEMPHIS – a documentary film chronicling the untold story behind one of the most infamous miscarriages of justice in American history; the story of an extraordinary and desperate fight to stop the State of Arkansas from killing an innocent man. The film has been produced by first-time filmmakers Damien Echols and Lorri Davis, in collaboration with the Academy Award-winning team of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. Jackson and Walsh became involved in 2005, when they helped to re-invigorate the then stagnant case by funding a new investigation. The film has been written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker, Amy Berg (Deliver Us From Evil). Starting with a searing examination of the police investigation into the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys – Christopher Byers, Steven Branch and Michael Moore in the small town of West Memphis, Arkansas, the film goes on to reveal hitherto unknown evidence surroun

First Look: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters

What kind of adult does a kid become after surviving a trip to a cannibalistic witch’s gingerbread house? That’s the premise of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters  (out March 2), which uses the centuries-old German folktale as a preamble to a larger story of vengeance and the bonds between siblings — particularly abused ones. Next Thursday, look for a trailer from the Paramount film. But for now, we see a first look at Jeremy Renner’s Hansel and Gemma Arterton’s Gretel, all grown up. Though older, they’re still prowling the woods for little old ladies who like to devour wayward children. Arterton discussed the approach of the movie, directed by Tommy Wirkola (the Nazi zombie saga Dead Snow), and how it’s as much Pulp Fiction as fairytale… Please Leave A Comment- Source- EW

SHAME Movie Review By: RAMA

SHAME Movie Review By: RAMA Was RAMA addicted to the movie? Please make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . Shocking, unexpected, raw, explosive, would be some of the first things that come to mind. I for one did not expect director Steve McQueen and actors Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan would push the envelope that much but they did and they did it so well. Never have I seen the subjects of obsession and addiction depicted on screen in such a brutally honest manner. Fassbender’s going the distance for his character is evidence of his extraordinary skills as an actor. Just like Requiem For A Dream was more or less a full feature anti drug public service announcement, SHAME too shows you how sex addiction can be a danger to self and those around you.. Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment s

Tomb Raider Film To Be Complete Reboot

Tomb Raider producer Graham King has revealed that he took inspiration from Rise of the Planet of the Apes for the Lara Croft franchise reboot. King told Digital Spy that he has received a script from Iron Man screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. "We're going through [the script] creatively, bringing in directors to talk to and then I get that horrible job of sitting with 25-30 young girls that want to play Lara Croft," he said. Asked about his approach to the new Lara Croft movie, King said: "For me it's re-inventing the wheel a bit, it's a reboot. We're going back before she was Lara Croft, so it's a much more emotional character piece. She's in search of her parents. "One of my favorite movies of this year was Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the way they rebooted that franchise. I thought it was fantastic and took a lot away from that for Tomb Raider."
