Dark Shadows Trailer & Character Posters

With Dark Shadows and Frankenweenie at various stages of completion, Tim Burton is a busy man at the moment. Jolly good of him, then, to dazzle our peepers with a new batch of character posters - sent, we'd like to think, from his personal email account. The posters of Barnabas Collins and co. augment the most recent batch of stills and this week's exceptionally promising trailer. Dark Shadows isn't a property immediately familiar on this side of the ditch, but all the signs are there that Burton and Johnny Depp have rebottled their Edward Scissorhands / Ed Wood lightning. The trailer's comic beats land and the design look is as lovingly outlandish as you could wish for. Watch the trailer and view all the posters after the Jump... In case you're not familiar with the US TV series, the premise sees 18th century playboy Collins cursed and turned into a vampire, before eventually reawakening into '70s America. Like a toothier 'Ted'

He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous. Frankenweenie Official Poster

Thanks to the official Facebook page for Frankenweenie , we got our hands on the first poster for the film. The film is based on a 1984 short that Tim Burton directed. Frankenweenie adapts and expands the story of young Victor, who tragically loses his beloved dog Sparky. Refusing to be without his closest companion, Victor decides to bring him back to life... Albeit with a few tweaks. The stitched-together pooch is fine for a while, but when he escapes, he causes chaos for the local townsfolk. Burton has recruited a voice cast that includes some newcomers along with a batch of his regular acting ensemble: Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Atticus Shaffer, Charlie Tahan and Robert Capron . New Images From Tim Burton's Dark Shadows

It's Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's eighth collaboration, a big-budget film based on a TV show that no-one remembers (at least outside the US) and which features a motley crew of vampires, witches and supernatural weirdos. Dark Shadows , in other words, is a perfect subject for both star and director, and from these photos it looks like we can expect more of their particular brand of off-kilter charm. 1972-set film version. The story focuses on Barnabas Collins ( Depp ), who was transformed into a vampire by a jilted lover (Eva Green's witch Angelique) way back in the 1700s and buried. He's just been dug up, and attempts to reintegrate with his descendants, led by Michelle Pfeiffer's Elizabeth and Jonny Lee Miller's Roger - despite the fact that Angelique is still around and still not in a forgiving mood. Said screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, "Tim and Johnny took a long time explaining exactly why it had to be 1972. 1969 was too early and 1973 was too

Tim Burton Wants Robert Downey Jr As Geppetto For Pinocchio Film

Tim Burton 's interest in tackling a live-action version of Pinocchio is heating up,  And Burton's choice to topline the movie is Robert Downey Jr . as Geppetto, the woodcarver who creates the puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. The Pinocchio story was first published in an Italian children's book written by Carlo Collodi and has been adapted several times, including the 1940 animated Disney classic. In the version being developed at Warner Bros., Geppetto embarks on a quest to reunite with his missing marionette. The well-regarded script is by Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller. Dan Jinks (American Beauty) is producing. Neither Burton nor Downey has a deal with Warners, but sources say Burton is keen to direct the film and has begun talks with the studio, so it's just a question of whether Pinocchio will be his next movie. The Alice in Wonderland director also is eyeing an adaptation of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children at Fox, among other

Tim Burton Thinking Of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children

In a match that seems ideal, Tim Burton is in early talks to come aboard Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children , the Ransom Riggs novel that 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment acquired last spring. Burton is in talks to develop the book as a potential directing project, and he would be involved in setting a writer to adapt the tale. It involves Jacob, a 16-year-old whose childhood was filled with stories his grandfather told him about an orphanage for unusual children. Among the residents: a girl who could hold fire in her hands, another whose feet never touched the ground, and twins who communicated without speaking. When his beloved grandfather dies unexpectedly but leaves a message behind for his grandson, the teen heads off to his grandfather’s home on an isolated island off Wales. There he discovers the abandoned remains of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. It is in great disrepair and as Jacob explores its bedrooms and hallways, he can see the children

First Image Of The Cast From "Dark Shadows"

EW scored the first photo of Johnny Depp ’s vampire from Dark Shadows ! Last week, long-range paparazzi shots of the actor wearing ghostly white makeup, large sunglasses and a pulled down fedora made fans of the original 1966-71 supernatural soap opera bristle nervously, with complaints he looked simply too strange. Nevermind that he’s playing a 200-year-old vampire, which is strange enough. As you can see from this cast shot, Depp’s bloodsucking pater familias Barnabas Collins actually borrows heavily from the aged-little boy look of original Dark Shadows star Jonathan Frid — not that anyone would be happy to see this guy show up as your prom date either. Still, this official First Look may reassure those die-hard fans of the original series, memorably offbeat ABC daytime drama about a vampire whose extended family are bedeviled by ghosts, witches, and other gothic woes. Depp, who fought for years to make this movie, is one of those fans. “I do remember, very vividly, practi

Beetlejuice 2 Will Not Be A Remake But A Reboot

KatzSmith Productions partners David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith have just signed a two-year first-look feature producing deal at Warner Bros. While rights are still being worked out, one of their first projects is expected to be a sequel to Beetlejuice , the 1988 Tim Burton-directed hit that starred Michael Keaton as a ghoul hired by a recently deceased couple to drive the new owners out of their house. Burton and Keaton made the movie while they were working on the studio’s first Batman film, which was released the following year. Beetlejuice also starred Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder and Geena Davis . The film will not be a remake; the intention is to reboot it by advancing the storyline of the original, which was done by The Geffen Company and Warner Bros. The Warner Bros producing deal grew from the screenwriting work that Grahame-Smith did for Burton on Dark Shadows , currently in production with Johnny Depp heading the cast. While Warner Bros and other studios continue to

Michelle Pfeiffer To Join Dark Shadows

Michelle Pfeiffer is in negotiations to reteam with Tim Burton for Dark Shadows , Warner Bros’ big-screen take on the 1960s gothic vampire TV soap opera starring Johnny Depp . The movie has an April start and has been casting up, with Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green and Bella Heathcote already on board. Depp will portray Barnabas Collins, a self-loathing vampire living in a Maine manor who is searching for his lost love. Pfeiffer would play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the reclusive matriarch of the Collins family which runs the Maine town. The character has not left the mansion since the disappearance of her husband a decade earlier. Pfeiffer is finding herself very much in demand this new year. The actress is juggling a role in New Line’s all-star New Year’s Eve and shooting Welcome to People, the directorial debut of scribe Alex Kurtzman. The last time she worked with Burton was as Catwoman in 1992’s Batman Returns Please Leave A Comment- Source- Heatvision

Eric Bana To Star In Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Eric Bana May Sink His Teeth In The Role Australian actor Eric Bana is circling the title role in 20th Century Fox's big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel " Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter " TheWrap has learned. While Bana hasn't landed the coveted role yet, he's scheduled to meet with director Timur Bekmambetov soon, and is certainly in contention for the part. The casting would make sense, as there's a bit of a physical resemblance between the two. At 6' 4", Lincoln is the tallest American president, while Bana is the rare leading man who stands at 6' 3". The epistolary-style book is written as a biography of Lincoln based on "secret diaries" he kept that were given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges, who saved Lincoln's life when he battled a vampire as a teenager. The two develop a friendship and Sturges teaches Lincoln how to hunt and kill vampires. Tim Burton is producing "

Tim Burton's Superman Lives Suit

Superman Lives What could Have Been VFX artist Steve Johnson open up a can and shocked the world today. He revealed images of what Superman Lives could have been on his facebook page . Thank God this never happened. A little history of the film and what could have been. Kevin Smith pitched to Jon Peters his story outline in August 1996, in which Peters gave him permission to write a screenplay. However, Peters presented Smith with three rules, such as wanting Superman to wear an all-black suit , feeling the more traditional suit was "too faggy"; not wanting to see Superman fly , saying that Superman would "look like an overgrown Boy Scout."(In order to deal with this, Smith wrote Superman flying as "a red-and-blue blur in flight, creating a sonic boom every time he flew."); See more Pictures and read the entire story after the Jump.. and have Superman fight a giant spider in the third act . Smith accepted the terms, realizing that he was being

Fox To Bring Us 'Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Film

Fox To Bring Us 'Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Film After a hard fought auction that included Sony and Paramount and Universal and Summit, Twentieth Century Fox has emerged the victor for the hottest project in Hollywood right now: the live-action adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith macabre novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with director Timur Bekmambetov and producer Tim Burton who used their own money to option the book earlier this year. It's a 3D re-imagining of Lincoln's life that depicts the 16th president as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires, an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Taking revenge, Lincoln wreaks havoc on the vampires and their slave-owning protectors. Only in Hollywood would such wild fantasy with the reputation of one of America's greatest Presidents be in such demand. Fox wanted the project so badly that when the filmmakers came onto the lot, the studio had bloody ax

Angelina Jolie To Play Maleficent

Angelina Jolie To Play Maleficent I recently posted the news about Disney's maybe moving forward with a Tim Burton Film called Maleficent. Woolverton's "Maleficent" movie would tell the classic fairy tale from the point of view of the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil," offering a new take on a classic tale as she did with Lewis Carrol's "Alice." Rumors are starting to swirl around Hollywood that Angelina Jolie could eventually end up playing the evil fairy. There is no deal in place and this is just a rumor, but according to sources she is interested by the material. I think it would be a nice twist to have her star in the film, but we all know Tim Burton don't be surprised if Helena Bonham Carter gets a shot at it. Please Leave A Comment-
