The deal now allows Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and others to appear in large-scale formats. Story by Matt Cummings Warner Bros. and IMAX announced on Monday that they had agreed upon an extension that will now allow Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice to be shown in the large-scale format. The deal extends the relationship through to 2020 and allows for 30 movies to be released over that time, including the reboot of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. , Suicide Squad , Wonder Woman , Godzilla 2 , and The LEGO Movie sequels. Some films like Batman vs. Superman were shot using IMAX cameras, making their inclusion in the deal all the more important. According to the press release, most of these and other films will be digitally re-mastered using IMAX’s technology. “We’ve had an incredible partnership with Warner Bros. for more than 10 years, which has helped Imax filmgoers enjoy Warner movies around the world,” said Imax CEO Richard L. Is it Pixar News Day and no one sent us a memo? Between new Inside Out posters, a teaser for Toy Story That Time Forgot and now this fresh information on The Good Dinosaur , it’s feeling like the Emeryville team and their Disney partners were waiting to spring it all on us at once. Still, it appears to be good news for Dinosaur, as co-director Peter Sohn is officially in charge of the movie. There was somewhat natural consternation when director Bob Peterson was removed from the film over creative challenges, with word that the film was to be delayed until 2015. Which explained why it was Sohn and producer Denise Ream who turned up to promote the film at Disney’s D23 in August of last year, as the company scrambled to make it better. Now Sohn is promoted to full director for his feature debut (he’s worked in the art, story and animation departments and directed 2009 short Partly Cloudy) and has been putting his stamp on the film with the help of his colleagues. “The heart of th

Planes is an upcoming sports comedy spin-off of Pixar's animated Cars franchise and the first film in the Planes trilogy. Pixar Animation Studios, the production team for the Cars movies, will not be producing the film. Instead, it will be produced by DisneyToon Studios. It was initially set to be released as a direct-to-video film, but will now be theatrically released by Walt Disney Pictures on August 9, 2013 in the Disney Digital 3D and RealD 3D formats. We’ve known since the middle of last year that Andrew Stanton and Team Pixar were planning to make a Finding Nemo sequel . Today, Disney and Pixar have announced the title, Finding Dory , and the fact that it’ll swim into theaters on November 25, 2015. As the title might suggest, the new film will focus a little more on the forgetful blue tang and introduce her family. According to Stanton, Finding Dory takes place about a year after the first film, and features returning favorites  Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang , among others.
