Pixar's Monsters University Teaser Posters

Before you look at the new Monsters University teaser posters below, know this: you are about to have serious letterman jacket envy.   Frustratingly, even if you head over to the still-really-rather-impressive Monsters University website, there's no way you can order yourself a proper letterman jacket. Disney! Pixar! Have you no mercy? Anyway, here are the posters in question, one with Mike & Sully in their dorm and another complete with some appropriately-titled books littering the floor. Would you read 'Scareonomics' if it was in your local library? It's a pretty safe bet... Monsters University arrives on June 21, 2013. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

Pixar's Partysaurus Rex First Images

Given how short Rex’s arms are, it’s ironic that he’s the Toy Story world’s resident hand-wringer. But in Pixar’s new animated short Partysaurus Rex ( playing before Finding Nemo 3-D on Sept. 14 ), we discover that bath time is when the nervous-nellie plastic dinosaur finally lets himself get down and dirty. “He’s sick of being the angel of goodness and sensibleness and caution and fear,” says voice actor Wallace Shawn, who has played the persnickety plaything since 1995. “He wants to stand on the side of pleasure and happiness and joy. … I live this drama every day of my life!” It’s the third in Pixar’s series of Toy Story Toons shorts, which follow life for Woody, Buzz and the gang in the care of new owner Bonnie (seen at the end of Toy Story 3, and as the face in the center of the bubbles in the pic below.) In this mini-movie, Rex gets drafted for bath time and encounters a sad lot of rub-a-dub-dub cohorts. “If you’re a bath toy you get really intense playtime. It’s like a p

BRAVE Easter Eggs Revealed

Fans of Disney•Pixar’s feature films love to scour the screen in search of the Hidden Gems the filmmakers sneak into each film: WALL•E’s explorationsuncover a Mike Wazowski antenna ball, paying homage to Monsters, Inc., and in Up, the classic Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as CarlFredricksen’s house flies by her window. Disney•Pixar’s epic action adventure Brave features a few such gems, two of which are revealed here: ANCIENT DELIVERY – The Witch, an eccentric crone disguised as a woodcarver specializing in whittling wooden bear figurines and conjuring haphazard spells, showcases her mysterious and inexplicable knowledge of the future with a carved figurine of the infamous Pizza Planet truck, an iconic delivery vehicle that’s appeared in nearly every full-length feature film from Pixar Animation Studios since 1995’s Toy Story. Disney•Pixar’s Brave is in theaters now. BRAVE Review- NO MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET – A carving of Sulley, the lovable blue monster sla

BRAVE Review By: MattINRC

BRAVE Review By: MattINRC BRAVE is a visual delight that misses at too many key points and doesn't take enough chances. If there's one studio that's absolutely dominated in the past 15 years, it's Pixar. From their 1995 classic Toy Story to the equally heart-warming Up, the company has taken animation to new levels, pulling gems and instant classics with amazing consistency. While animation is their acumen, their key has always been in strong storytelling: who would have thought that toys, cars, rats, fish, and monsters would have such wide-ranging appeal. It's Pixar singular ability to breathe real emotions into their animated characters that makes everything they touch turn to box office cash. Well, almost everything: that road has recently been pitted with a few critical disappointments: Cars 2 was unappealing and Toy Story 3 was downright creepy (toys holding hands in the fiery hell of a compactor is weird). With the release of  BRAVE , the animation

Muppets 2 Is Confirmed. Lasseter Talks Pixar's Next Film

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have been making the media rounds a lot lately, and their stop in Las Vegas yesterday brought some pretty exciting news. It was at Disney's CinemaCon panel that president of production Sean Bailey announced that there will officially be a " Muppets 2 ." This is something we've heard plenty about already, like the fact Jason Segel won't be involved and the movie will introduce plenty of new characters. But it's nice to have the movie finally confirmed by Disney so that we know we can look forward to it coming out... well, eventually. Bailey didn't have any more details to share about the movie other than the fact it is actually happening. However, Disney and Pixar animation chief John Lasseter did have some news about Pixar's upcoming line-up. It turns out the animation studio is trying to bring together a film based around the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos . The movie has no release date yet, but it will b

New TV Clip From Pixar's BRAVE

Today we got a new clip from Pixar's BRAVE . Set in the Highlands of Scotland, Brave tells the story of the headstrong Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald ) who rejects her traditional role (marriage, baking, wee'uns) in favour of a more perilous route (adventure, battle, bears). In the process she upsets parents King Fergus ( Billy Connolly ) and Queen Elinor ( Emma Thompson ), and more dangerously, the domineering Lords of the land: MacGuffin ( Kevin McKidd ), MacIntosh ( Craig Ferguson ) and Dingwall ( Robbie Coltrane ). First we have a shot of Merida from Disney/Pixar’s Brave, drawing back her bow at the archery competition designed to find her a proper suitor as others look on. Admittedly the resolution of this image is pretty harsh, so we hope to have a better one in the near future which we will add permanently to our gallery for the film. Brave is the grand adventure of Merida, a skilled archer who confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts t

New Image From Disney/Pixar’s Brave

Walt Disney Studios has provided us with its annual film preview for 2012 and, taking our cue from Gaston from Beauty and the Beast 3D (how’s that for a segue?), we can only make sense of reading material by the pictures. That said, while most of the imagery found in the preview has already been released. First we have a shot of Merida from Disney/Pixar’s Brave , drawing back her bow at the archery competition designed to find her a proper suitor as others look on. Admittedly the resolution of this image is pretty harsh, so we hope to have a better one in the near future which we will add permanently to our gallery for the film. First Image From Pixars Toy Story Short Film "Small Fry"

We have your first look at Small Fry , a new Pixar short starring the stars of Toy Story . Buzz Lightyear gets replaced by a pint sized impostor. It will be shown in front of The Muppets movie when it hits theaters. 4 New Clips From The Muppets- Blame it all on toy envy as a Happy Meal-type toy at a fast-food restaurant yearns to break out of his display case to play like a real toy. He kidnaps Buzz Lightyear in an attempt to take over his play-filled existence.”It’s like the Prince and the Pauper tale for toys,” says writer/director Angus MacLane. “Except one of them happens to be 3 inches tall.” The life-reversal forces the real Buzz Lightyear, voiced by Tim Allen, to deal with a support group for discarded, unloved fast-food toys. “These toys’ existence is about being really popular before the meal and then being totally forgotten about,” MacLane says. “And sometimes they don’t even get played with.” Though Buzz doesn’t fit into the group, he has trouble exiting. “There’

Brad Bird Talks The Incredibles 2

Brad Bird , director of the upcoming Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol , told Movies.com that there’s a good reason that there hasn’t been a sequel to The Incredibles , the one film among Pixar’s canon that seems most ripe for a follow-up: he hasn’t been working on one. “To say that I’ve had trouble [coming up with a story] is to say that [a sequel] has been my pursuit,” Bird said in a recent interview interview in Los Angeles, Calif. “I haven’t really been pursuing that.” Suffice it to say that there are plenty of films that fans demand sequels for which their makers aren’t interested in sequelizing. But Bird said that he is indeed interested in making a follow-up, as long as he’s able to author it himself rather than turning it over even to Pixar’s almost impossibly talented Brain Trust of filmmakers. Reassuringly, he said that Pixar wanted exactly the same thing. “I think the reason it hasn’t [happened] yet is because the studio would like me to do it, if there were anoth

Win a trip for 4 to the opening of Cars Land and a private Jungle Cruise tour skippered by John Lasseter! From late 1977 through spring 1978, John Lasseter , before becoming chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios and principal creative advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering, worked at Disneyland, and was a skipper on the Jungle Cruise attraction… Recently, a search for a photo of John skippering the Jungle Cruise came up empty. Surely there must be a photo of Skipper John somewhere? To find one, we have created a contest: the first person to submit a verifiable photo of John as the skipper of the Jungle Cruise from 1977 will win a trip for 4 to the grand opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in summer 2012, and a ride on the Jungle Cruise skippered by none other than John himself! D23 News-Pixar Announces Two Next Films

This weekend saw the Walt Disney Company hosting its D23 convention, a sort of mini-Comic-Con focused on Mouse House products and movies/TV shows. The definite highlight was Saturday morning’s big studio presentation, where a lot of new movies were showcased, including The Avengers and The Muppets . But possibly most exciting was the announcement of two new films currently in active development by the Pixar team. The first, which will be directed by studio veteran Bob Peterson, focuses on dinosaurs, which lends credibility to the rumours that the company was working on something dino-related that sprang up last year. Peterson and producer John Walker arrived on stage to announce the movie, admitting that it doesn’t yet have a title. So right now, it’s called The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs . And the plot? They wouldn’t say much beyond the basic info Disney gave out: “What if that life-changing asteroid missed Earth? The hilarious tale depicts a world where dinosaurs ne
