Having already filled its upcoming monster universe with A-list talent including Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe , Universal is now eyeing another star to revive a famous character. Sources tell Variety that Javier Bardem is in talks to star as Frankenstein in Universal’s classic monster movie series. It’s currently unknown which monster feature Bardem would first appear in. Cruise and Crowe’s “ The Mummy ,” the first film in the monster series, is nearly done with filming. Universal is also developing a “Bride of Frankenstein” feature, but sources indicate that Bardem’s Frankenstein would likely appear in another monster pic first with the possibility of getting a spin-off down the road. Last summer, the studio tapped Alex Kurtzman (“Star Trek”) and Chris Morgan to help develop the monster pics as connected universe. In this fifth installment to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise Captain Jack finds himself running from the heinous Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem. Captain Salazar sails the seven seas with his motley crew of pirates set to kill every other pirate they come across. The only way for Captain Jack to escape the clutches of Salazar and his crew is to obtain the Poseidon’s trident and defeat the evil-doer. Javier Bardem is in talks to play the villain in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales , the latest installment of the high seas fantasy. Johnny Depp is, of course, back as Jack Sparrow as is Geoffrey Rush, playing Barbosa, in the big tentpole that is eyeing a five-month shoot next year in Australia. Joachim Ronnin and Espen Sandbreg are directing. Plot details are as murky as a pirate's morals but Bardem would play a ghost captain who blames Sparrow for the death of his brother and is searching for a supernatural object to aid him. Also figuring into the mix will be a love interest for Sparrow, a woman who is accused of being a witch. That co-starring role has not yet been cast. Sources caution that the talks are in an early stage. After scoring big with Javier Bardem as its last Bond villain, MGM and Sony may be targeting another Oscar-nominated actor to play 007′s nemesis in the next James Bond pic. Sources tell Variety that Chiwetel Ejiofor is the top choice to play the villain in the next installment in the Bond series. No offer has been made yet, and scheduling would still have to be worked out, but sources insist he is the front-runner for the job. The studio had no comment. The well-cast but poorly-edited The Counselor takes too long to suck us in.   Warning: Boring times and SPOILERS ahead! Do you have control of your life once the 'big decision' is made? Job? Marriage? Family? How about a Juarez drug deal gone horribly wrong? That's the premise of The Counselor , a well-cast but horribly-edited film that stunningly wastes all of its assets, making us realize that bad decisions do have consequences. A lawyer ( Michael Fassbender ) on the financial ropes enters the drug trafficking world, only to see his 'investment' stolen by the scheming girlfriend of his naive partner Reiner ( Javier Bardem ). Malkina ( Cameron Diaz ) loves the fine life, climbing the ladder by screwing and (probably) killing her way through men and their money. She's the quintessential 'damaged goods' girl,
