BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

New #ANTMAN Poster

Marvel’s ANT-MAN , one of the original members of the Avengers, makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut this summer following the global critical and box office success of Avengers: Age of Ultron . ANT-MAN stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly , and Michael Douglas and is in theaters on July 17, The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannava

Kevin Feige Talks Ant-Man & Doctor Strange

Kevin Feige is the Captain of the good ship Marvel , steering a fleet of superheroes through sometimes choppy seas. But when he came into town this week to present some footage from Guardians Of The Galaxy , Empire cornered him for a podcast and asked about a couple of the studio's future films. Most importantly, we asked him about Edgar Wright's departure from Ant-Man , as well as what we can expect from Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange . First of all, what happened on Ant-Man? "We’ve been with Edgar for eight years. The disappointing thing for me is not being able to make a movie with him, right now; it’s just the personal relationship. It was amicable and we sat in a room together and said this isn’t working. I just wish I or he had figured that out somewhere in the eight years leading up to it. "Well, it’s not worth, right now, going into [what the disagreements were] in super-specifics. I wish it wasn’t as late in the day as it was, but it just had b

Potential Directors For Ant-Man Film

Marvel Studios is moving fast to make good on its promise to keep its July 17, 2015, release date for Ant-Man . Sources say Rawson Marshall Thurber, Adam McKay and Ruben Fleischer are among a group of directors that are meeting with the studio to replace Edgar Wright , who abruptly exited the long-gestating project last week over creative differences. The shortlisting of this trio offers a glimpse into the mind-set of Marvel president Kevin Feige as he looks to fill the hole left by Wright, a favorite among the fanboy community. Thurber (We're the Millers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and McKay (the Anchorman movies) are known for their bawdy comedies. Fleischer , whose credits include Zombieland and Gangster Squad, has moved deftly between genres with comedic elements. Wright, a Brit with a more quirky sensibility, clashed with Marvel over the tone of the film. McKay would appear to have an edge given that he has worked with Ant-Man star Paul Rudd before, on the A

Edgar Wright Drops Out of Marvel's 'Ant-Man'

Here's why fans shouldn't be surprised by the news. For the better part of two years, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have learned about the dance surrounding Director Edgar Wright's Ant-Man , a project at least a decade in the making. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has supported the unique nature of the project, stating emphatically that it's been Wright's force of will that's kept the project going. That is, until now. According to a statement released by Marvel Studios, Wright has departed the project. The statement, released on Friday - gives the standard "differences in their vision of the film" as the reason, but also tries to assure the reader that its July 17, 2015 release date is unaffected by the change. Good luck with that. While Marvel has become the most successful studio in recent memory, it has had its significant share of issues in keeping directors around through sequels. The list starts with Jon

Marvel's Phase 2 Concept Art

ABC  aired a celebratory one-hour special called Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe , and with that came some glimpses of its upcoming Phase Two projects. Published simultaneously on Marvel's website are these pieces of concept art and snaps of test footage, showcasing Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Ant-Man and Guardians Of The Galaxy . Possible spoilers follow, so don't look if you don't wanna know. First up is Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron , giving us first impressions of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, and a shot of Hulk and Black Widow by a collapsing building that looks not unlike something from the climax of Avengers Assembled. There's also an image doing the rounds of Iron Man putting his Hulkbuster armour to its intended use. That one isn't part of the official Marvel-released set, but hey, we'll throw it in anyway. Then we've got Edgar Wright's Ant-Man . These four

Michael Douglas Joins Marvel's Ant-Man

Fresh from picking up a Golden Globe for playing Liberace in Behind The Candelabra this weekend, Michael Douglas has scored an even more intriguing role, one that will be something of a career first for him. He’s agreed to play Hank Pym in Edgar Wright’s take on Ant-Man . That means, then, that Paul Rudd (announced last month) is playing Scott Lang . Though plot details about how Pym and Lang will fit into the film are still officially under wraps, Wright tweeted a link to an interview he gave in 2006 that offers up some likely groundwork: “The idea that we have for the adaptation is to actually involve both. Is to have a film that basically is about Henry Pym and Scott Lang, so you actually do a prologue where you see Pym as Ant-Man in action in the 60's, in sort of Tales To Astonish mode basically,” Wright told Superhero Hype. “And then the contemporary, sort of flash-forward, is Scott Lang's story, and how he comes to acquire the suit, how he crosses paths with Henry

Edgar Wright Teases ANT-MAN

Over on his website, director Edgar Wright is offering Marvel fans a tease of things to come -- but just how much of a tease is open to question. In a post titled " January 5th 2014 " (but published today, Jan. 6 -- it's okay, Edgar, the new year confuses us all when it comes to dates for a few days afterwards), Wright posted a screen cap from Marvel's Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series featuring hands reaching toward the helmet of Ant-Man, the character at the center of his 2015 Marvel Studios movie, with the caption " Homework ." So far, so straightforward: He's making an Ant-Man movie; he's watching cartoons featuring Ant-Man for research. Except that the episode the image comes from, " To Steal an Ant-Man ," from the show's second season, doesn't just introduce Scott Lang as Ant-Man ; it's also the introduction of Luke Cage and Iron Fist , two characters who are also set to appear in the Marvel

Paul Rudd To Play Ant-Man

With Joseph Gordon-Levitt turning his attention to “Sandman,” the “Anchorman 2″ star has landed the coveted lead After months of speculation, Paul Rudd has landed the lead in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” and is now in negotiations to play Hank Pym, multiple sources have told TheWrap . Representatives for Marvel and Rudd had no comment. Edgar Wright is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote with Joe Cornish, and Disney will release the film on July 31, 2015. Kevin Feige will produce for Marvel. In recent interviews to promote “Anchorman 2″ as well as his recent stint hosting “Saturday Night Live,” Rudd has appeared noticeably slimmer, and sources tell TheWrap that’s because he’s training for the physical role of Ant-Man. Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been considered the frontrunners for the coveted role since October, though Gordon-Levitt has appeared in several comic book adaptations and is gearing up for another one in WB’s “Sandman.” Rudd is more of a natural fit for t

Ant-Man Gets A Summer Release Date

Disney is pushing up the release date of Marvel's upcoming project from Nov. 6, 2015, to July 31, 2015. Edgar Wright is directing the pic based on the Marvel comics character Henry Pym, a brilliant scientist who invents a way to change size. But when that experiment goes awry, he discovers a way to communicate with insects. With the November release date, the superhero pic would have gone up against the next Bond film, which will see the return of director Sam Mendes and star Daniel Craig. Mendes' previous Bond film, Skyfall, was a box office behemoth, bringing in more than $1 billion worldwide. Fox's untitled Peanuts movie also opens on that date. The new July 2015 date only has one other film slated for release -- Peregrine's Home for Peculiars. It will be a crowded superhero summer. Marvel's ensemble superhero sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron , hits theaters earlier that summer, on May 1, 2015. Also, Warner Bros.' currently untitled Superman and Batma

The Word’s End Review. Delivers Fantastic Comedy & Action

The Word’s End Review By: Nicolas Souza If you enjoy laughing at Simon Pegg jumping over fences and killing zombies in Shawn of the Dead or Nick Frost shooting two guns whilst jumping through the air in Hot Fuzz , then get your hangover cure ready to drink all the way to The World’s End . Edgar Wright ( Scott Pilgram versus the World ) returns to the helm of this third, and final, entry of the “ Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy .” Front man Simon Pegg and his right hand man Nick Frost along with a lineup of actors from the previous two films are back. A down on his luck loser who is forever haunted by the one thing he never finished in his childhood, The Golden Mile; the task of having at least one pint at all twelve local pubs on the same night

The World's End Review. Add It To Your Summer Movie List!

The World's End Review By: MattInRC The appropriately-named The World's End is the funniest comedy of the year. If you've seen Actor Simon Pegg before his Star Trek: Into Darkness days, you'll remember him as the guy who created Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz , both hilarious takes on their respective genres. Since then, we've seen zombie and conspiracy flicks get a lot more serious leading to a 2013 Summer seemingly inundated with them. Luckily, Pegg's new project The World's End doesn't take itself too seriously, merging two seemingly unconnected things - drinking and alien invasion - into one of the funniest and most rewarding comedies we've seen in awhile. THE WORLD'S END Junket Interviews With Cast- Gary King ( Pegg ) is a washed-up drunken loser who can't seem to move on from his free teenage days. Institutionalized for a brief period and sporting the same 'trenchcoat fashion' from his youth, his best days are clea

THE WORLD'S END Junket Interviews With Cast

We had the pleasure of being invited to attend  THE WORLD'S END  junket in San Francisco earlier this month.  And who other to send but our main man Nic Souza. Mr. Souza (if your nasty) also attended the junket for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS in May for us. It was like Simon Pegg and Nic were best Friends when they sat down and talked this go around. The day after the San Francisco premier of the last entry in the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy The World's End , which was followed by a brief Q&A session with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright , Here is Nic's interview below: I sat down for a round table interview with the trio. Interviewer: Last night during the brief Q&A, you talked about wanting to show parts of England that weren't London. Then in your movies you have parts of England that aren't London have zombies, they have murderers, they have what we see in this movie. Edgar Wright: Which is basically saying, “don't go to England.”

New The World's End Trailer

Most pub crawls have a sticky ending, one way or another. Some finish with fisticuffs, many with vomit, others with a mere killer hangover. But The World's End promises to take things to a whole new level with an apocalyptic outcome to the reunion of five old friends. The film sees Simon Pegg as something of a failure in life, who sees a chance to recreate his teenage glory days by reuniting his old friends to complete the pub crawl they once abandoned. Only it turns out that their home town has changed in the years since they left: now it's crawling with what look very much like alien invaders. Uh. Oh. The World's End stars Nick Frost, Eddie Marsan, Martin Freeman and Paddy Considine with Pegg as the central quintet of drinkers; Rosamund Pike plays Freeman's sister (and Pegg's old flame) and you'll see a few more familiar faces pop up in this trailer. Edgar Wright , of course, directs this finale to the Blood And Ice Cream trilogy. Watch the trailer a
