Could Danny Boyle & Leonardo DiCaprio Team Up To Make Steve Jobs Movie

Moving fast to replace David Fincher on its highly anticipated Steve Jobs movie , Sony Pictures is in talks with Danny Boyle to direct the biopic of the late Apple Computer co-founder. Boyle is said to have approached Leonardo DiCaprio to star. As The Hollywood Reporter revealed earlier this month, Fincher fell out of the project due to his aggressive demands for compensation and control. Fincher had wanted Christian Bale for the title role, though the actor was not signed. The film is to be produced by Scott Rudin and written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), based on the best-selling biography of Jobs by Walter Isaacson. The Jobs film could mark a reteaming of DiCaprio and Boyle, the star and director, respectively, of 2000's The Beach. Neither has previously worked with Sorkin. The departure of Fincher dashed hopes of reuniting the team behind Social Network, which grossed $225 million worldwide in 2010. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

2014 Academy Awards Nominations

Overall, the 2014 Academy Awards may represent one of the most crowded fields for quality film making in recent memory. This year's selections are filled with moving and memorable performances, from the enchanting Frozen to Matthew McConaughey's stunning turn in The Dallas Buyer's Club . At least the Motion Picture Academy casts a wider net with nine Best Picture nominations; the rest of the categories are capped at five. The nominations represent the official kickoff of the Oscars Awards season. From this moment forward, every name and film mentioned will be repeated countless times on TV talk shows and in commercials, tweets, Facebook posts and movie posters. Now that we have the full list (see the major award nominees below) you can start handicapping the winners (and catching all the films you missed) and then we can all watch together on March 2 when the academy hands out all those gold statuettes. American Hustle Review. Proves Hustling Can Be Sexy, Even If You Might Need A Shower Afterwards.

American Hustle Review By: MattInRC David O. Russell's American Hustle is smart, savvy, and an Oscar contender waiting for the call. With so many films this year about double-crosses, you might have become desensitized for them around Summer: Iron Man 3, 2 Guns, The Counselor and at least 5 more all explored the concept, each with mixed results. The problem with the genre is its propensity to get so convoluted that the story leaves audiences wondering if they had just been fleeced of their hard-earned cash. Luckily, best of the them - David O. Russell's American Hustle - comes out just in time to right the ship for Oscar season. When we first meet the 1978 con-artist Irving Rosenfeld ( Christian Bale ), he's engaged in a serious combo-over, readying himself for the biggest swindle of his life. Arrested by the FBI for fraud, he and faux-British sidekick Sydney ( Amy Adams ) are strong-armed into catching New Jersey politicians who are taking bribes.

Matt Smith To Play Patrick Bateman In A Musical

Since handing back the keys to the TARDIS (though he’ll be on our screens until he regenerates into Peter Capaldi this Christmas), soon to be ex-Doctor Who star Matt Smith has been striking out in very different directions. He’ll be a strange character in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut How To Catch A Monster and is now set to step into Christian Bale’s fashionable loafers for an American Psycho musical. The Almeida Theatre in London's West End is working up the musical, with Rupert Gould directing a book written by Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and lyrics from Glee’s Duncan Sheik. Like the Bret Easton Ellis book and, more likely Mary Harron’s 2000 film adaptation, the musical will follow the murderous mayhem of New York investment banker Patrick Bateman as he chops up rivals, prostitutes and anyone who gets in his way. Will Huey Lewis get a look in? It’s doubtful given rights issues and the fact the musical will feature original songs. Be

American Psycho TV Series Coming To FX

FX is looking for its own psycho. The cable network is developing a follow-up series to American Psycho , The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The drama, which hails from Allison Shearmur, writer Stefan Jaworski and Lionsgate Television, is described as a follow-up to the book and subsequent feature film of the same name. Bret Easton Ellis' controversial 1991 novel revolves around Patrick Bateman, a Manhattan executive with a secret life as a serial killer, and spawned a 2000 feature film adaptation starring Christian Bale . The 1980s-set book and movie depicted Bateman seemingly relishing in his upscale lifestyle and like-minded friends, whom he secretly despised. The feature film was written by Mary Harron and Guinevere Turner, with the former directing. The Lionsgate-produced film grossed $34 million worldwide. In the update, Bateman -- now in his mid-50s but as outrageous and lethal as ever -- takes on a protege, in a sadistic social experiment, who will become every bi
