I've always considered Gerard Butler to be one of the least utilized actors in Hollywood. Angela Bassett is joining the cast of Olympus Has Fallen , Nu Image/Millennium’s White House-set action thriller starring Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart . Antoine Fuqua is directing the movie, which is competing with Sony’s White House Down for Die Hard-like movie set in the White House. Butler is an unlikely Secret Service agent trying to stop Korean terrorists who have taken over the White House. Eckhart is playing the president.  Bassett will play the Secret Service director. The script is by first-time scribes Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. Mark Gil, Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel are producing. A man could die from alcoholic poisoning just by watching THE RUM DIARY . It’s got so much consumption, it almost tempts people like me who’ve kicked the habit a while ago, to start drinking again. But on to the film, my mistake was that I was half hoping this would be just as uproarious and mindtripping as Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas but THE RUM DIARY is a pretty disjointed adventure Puerto Rico in the ’60s. Keep in mind that I’ve never read the book that this film is based on and I’m sure there’s tons of Hunter S. Thompson’s fans out there who’d be more passionate about this film, but what doesn’t sell me the most about THE RUM DIARY is that in this film, everybody but Johnny Depp is interesting … Based on the debut novel by Hunter S.
