Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury Will Appear In Captain Marvel

He was the man who originally introduced us to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe way back in 2008's I ron Man , and since then Samuel L. Jackson 's Nick Fury has been the key connective tissue for the various superhero stories. But though he's not been seen on screen since 2015's Avengers: Age Of Ultron , it appears he'll be part of Captain Marvel. Of course, there's every chance that he'll be back before that, since the Avengers have those two giant Infinity War movies next year and 2019, but it would be fun to see him ushering Kong: Skull Island co-star Brie Larson into the next incarnation of the MCU. The news originated as a rumour with Omega Underground and has since been confirmed by Deadline, though there has been no official word from Marvel. With Larson attached to star as test pilot-turned-super-powered human Carol Danvers, the film has slowly been developing, written by Guardians Of The Galaxy's Nicole Perlman and Inside Out's Meg L

Movie Review: #TheBigSick

The romantic comedy The Big Sick at once charms its way into making us love it, while exposing its one fault. Review by Matt Cummings The idea of an important and heartfelt social comedy - one that Director John Hughes might have crafted in the 80's or the laugh-out-loud message of separation in Swingers by John Favreau - feels so distant in our modern times. Even the darling of Sundance - The Big Sick - isn't quite that, but it's got a ton of heart and edges so close to brilliance, only to be shot down by a problematic third act. Kumail (Kumail Nanjiani) is a struggling Pakistani-American comic living in Chicago who desires to hit it big time. While performing one night, he encounters the antics of Emily (Zoe Kazan), a spry blonde whom he instantly connects with. She too finds him interesting, with Kumail going so far to drive her home in his secondary job as an Uber driver. Soon, the two find themselves hanging out all the time, but the joy Kumail finds

Movie Review: #AGhostStory

The tedious and problematic A Ghost Story tests our patience. Review by Matt Cummings In a Summer box office that's revealed people's tiring of predictable sequels and unnecessary reboots, a batch of truly unique properties/premises have overtaken the chatter at the Internet Water Cooler. Sadly, that doesn't apply to A Ghost Story , a movie that tests our patience with its tedium while doing little to challenge our perceptions of the afterlife. The couple C (Casey Affleck) and M (Rooney Mara) live in a nondescript home that's anything but that. It appears to be haunted by a ghost who makes noises on their piano, drops books in front of them, and (in one case) goes full ape shit to destroy the home. But when C dies in a car crash just outside the property, he awakens as a ghost himself, complete with the white sheet, black cloth for eyes, but no ability to speak. Soon, he's on a time travelling adventure of the spirit, as he's forced to watch M m
