Although it's slightly less than the normal 22, the freshman drama debuted a month later than most other new fall offerings. Supergirl also requires more special effects than the average series. The network's sign of confidence comes a month after Supergirl launched to a 3.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.9 million viewers — making it the most-watched premiere of the fall season.
