Chris Evans & Jared Leto Could Join The Girl on the Train

Variety is reporting Chris Evans and Jared Leto are in early talks to board DreamWorks’ adaptation of “ The Girl on the Train .” The duo joins Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett in the adaptation of the Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel. Sources indicate negotiations are still ongoing, and that schedules and finances still have to be figured out. The story follows a woman ( Blunt ) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect couple who lives in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the married couple. If the deals go through, Evans would play Ferguson’s husband and Leto would play Bennett’s husband. Tate Taylor is directing from Cressida Wilson’s script. Marc Platt will produce the film, while Jared LeBoff of Marc Platt Prods. will serve as executive producing. Kristen Bell Joins Upcoming #CHIPS Film

With Dax Shepard announced as writer, director and star of a cinematic take on cult cop action show CHiPs, we put out a quiet call to the universe for his wife, Kristen Bell to join him. Whaddya know? The universe heard us! Or… Dax just decided it was easier to cast from within his family. Yes, Bell has boarded the film, which finds Shepherd as Office John Baker , who, along with fellow police biker Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Michael Pena) , must keep the highways and byways free of crime. Which won’t be easy when you’ve got Vincent D’Onofrio as the main villain of the story. Adam Brody and Rosa Salazar are also signed on for the movie, which adapts the series that ran between 1977 and 1983 in the States. Shepard is gearing up to shoot soon for Warner Bros. Bell most recently worked on Melissa McCarthy comedy The Boss (formerly known as Michelle Darnell) and also reprised her role as Anna for the Frozen short Frozen Fever which played before Cinderella this year. According to Variety Rising star Brie Larson is in talks to play Billie Jean King in Fox Searchlight’s “ Battle of the Sexes ,” Steve Carell is currently set to play Bobby Riggs in the tennis drama. Larson would replace Emma Stone , who had to pass on the role due to a scheduling conflict. “Little Miss Sunshine” filmmakers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will direct from a script by Simon Beaufoy. Danny Boyle is producing under his Decibel Films banner along with Christian Colson and his company Cloud Eight. The story of King and Riggs became a zeitgeist event back in 1973, when the 29-year-old No. 2 ranked female star rose to the challenge and beat the 55-year-old retired former Wimbledon champion Riggs. “Battle of the Sexes” is one of three projects revolving around the infamous tennis match, the other two being the HBO and Playtone pic “Proof” that has Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti starring and Chernin Entertainment and Gary Sanchez’s “Match Maker” with Steve Conra
