Teaser Trailer For How To Train Your Dragon 2

The first How To Train Your Dragon was an unexpectedly moving and rather wonderful story of a boy and his giant flying reptile, and we've been eagerly looking forward to the second instalment. Now a teaser has appeared online, offering a brief action sequence from the film that suggests all the lyricism of the first film is present and correct (even amid the gross-out gags and Viking pratfalls). The story this time sees a now-older Hiccup ( Jay Baruchel ) still partnered with dragon Toothless and exploring far beyond his home village of Berk, once a Viking outpost plagued by dragons and now one that's partnered with them. Says the official synopsis: "The thrilling second chapter of the epic How To Train Your Dragon trilogy brings back the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years later. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey t

Jeff Wadlow To Deliver X-Force Film

Jeff Wadlow , who is readying for the August 16 release of Kick-Ass 2 , has been tapped to write an adaptation of X-Force , an X-Men spin-off being developed by 20th Century Fox. The news comes on the heels of various blogs reporting today that the studio registered X-ForceMovie.com a few months ago. Longtime X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuller Donner is producing X-Force. Wadlow is now writing the script with an eye to direct. X-Force was an early 1990s spin-off from Marvel Comics’ flagship Uncanny X-Men comics created by Rob Liefeld and its first issue set sales records when it sold five million copies. (The record was only surpassed when X-Men #1, drawn by Jim Lee, sold eight million issues.) The original line-up of the team was made up of several characters from the first Uncanny X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants, teens who had matured into young adults. But also among the line up was Cable, a militant leader from the future who is related to X-Men heroes Cyclops and

Pacific Rim Review. Pleasant Surprise

Pacific Rim Review By: Nicolas Souza Big Action, Bigger Robots Please welcome guest review Nicolas Souza. Nicolas will be reviewing movie from time to time. Giant monsters, huge robots, and a decent story holding it all together; this is the easiest way to explain Pacific Rim . This summer action blockbuster wonderfully delivers all of that, but doesn’t blow you away. Fans of giant monsters and robots will not leave the theater disappointed. The action scenes between the two are fantastic. On par with the action in other giant robot movies like Transformers, I believe Pacific Rim is slightly better. This is due to the limit of monsters on screen at once. With only a few monsters or robots fighting at once, there is no need to cut from fight to fight. This gives more time to the wonderfully designed Jaegers, German for hunter, and Kaiju, giant monsters. Director Guillermo del Torro (Pan’s Labyrinth) assembles a human cast that fills its role nicely for a movie that’s main st

Pacific Rim Review. Add It To Your Summer Movie To-Do List.

Pacific Rim Review By: MattInRC The monster/robot flick Pacific Rim is way too much fun for you to notice all the plot holes. Among the film genres of my youth, Kaiju was not one of them. Sure, I liked the idea of giant monsters attacking cities - and even some such as the 1954 Godzilla - had almost believable plots. But I always found them predictable: you can only smash so many buildings and endure so much poor voice dubbing before they turned into a joke. With Kaiju films, it's always been two steps back ( Roland Emmerich's Gozilla remake ), one step forward ( JJ Abrams' Cloverfield ); what the genre needed was a big Hollywood budget AND a great script to get people re-energized about the genre. Pacific Rim does at least part of that really well by adding human-controlled robots into the mix. And while there are plot holes a mile wide and a predictable ending to boot, the film is tons of fun. You'll find yourself willing to forgo these issues in favor of w
