Amazon's Zombieland TV Show Trailer

Back in January, word broke that US online store giant Amazon was looking to use original content to compete with Netflix’s offerings. The company’s first pickup was the long-gestating Zombieland TV show , which continues the adventures of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock. Well, things were much further along than first thought, and now, not only is the trailer online, but the pilot is soon going to be free to watch on Amazon. Though it clearly has to do the heavy lifting of introducing the world of the 2009 comedy hit to new viewers, and doesn’t boast the movie’s cast, the pilot – directed by Eli Craig and overseen by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese – clearly aims to carry the anarchic spirit of the film. With Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Tyler Ross as Columbus, Maiara Walsh as Wichita and Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock, the trailer boasts plenty of zombie-slaying action and even the rules for survival. Harrison Ford Chews Out Chewbacca On Kimmel Live

Harrison Ford dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to talk about his latest hit movie, 42 , but Kimmel couldn’t resist asking the legendary actor about his involvement in another buzzed-about project, the hotly anticipated new Star Wars movie. When Ford declined to answer, Kimmel asked if he could turn the questions over to the audience, which the bristly star agreed to on one condition – no Star Wars questions. Things were immediately awkward, with audience members dressed as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia forced to think fast and pose non-Star Wars questions, but the Q&A took a brutal turn when Ford’s furry former co-star Chewbacca stepped up to the mic. “You son of a b**ch, what do you want?” Ford roared from the stage. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Always trying to blame me. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your furry pants!” They better smooth things over fast: Disney has big plans for its franchise reboot of Star Wars. Things begin in summer 2015, wh

Joseph Kosinski To Deliver Ballistic City For AMC

AMC has put in development Ballistic City , a futuristic drama directed and executive produced by Oblivion helmer Joseph Kosinski and written/executive produced by Travis Beacham, co-writer of another upcoming tentpole sci-fi movie, Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. Ballistic City is expected to be among the projects in development announced at AMC’s upfront event in New York today, along with Ashland, from writers Allison Anders and Terry Graham. Ballistic City is described as “ Blade Runner meets Battlestar Galactica ” and tells the story of a former cop thrust into the criminal underworld of a city housed in a generational space ship destined for an unknown world. I hear the project is eyed as a potential companion to AMC’s genre blockbuster The Walking Dead. Kosinski, who previously directed Tron: Legacy , and Beacham, who also co-wrote Clash Of The Titans, executive produce with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Michael Sugar. In a presentation Wednesday at CinemaCon, the annual meeting of the National Theater Owners Association, Disney representatives unveiled some big plans for the " Star Wars " franchise after purchasing Lucasfilm for $4 billion. While it's well known that " Star Wars: Episode VII " is in the works and poised for release in the summer of 2015, Disney is saying after that, fans can expect a new "Star Wars" movie every summer for at least five years, with installments in the official series alternating with stand-alone films that will focus on well-loved characters in the "Star Wars" universe.
