BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Imax Poster For Raiders Of The Lost Ark

To coincide with the arrival of all four Indiana Jones films on Blu-ray on September 18, we are being spoiled with an IMAX rerelease for just one week in the very same month. Explaining just how you convert a 31 year-old movie to something capable of being called IMAX quality, Steven Spielberg told The New York Times, that "the first tier is where you take the DI [digital intermediate] and you enhance the resolution to IMAX resolution. The second tier is that the sound is significantly different. Raiders Of The Lost Ark Heading To Imax- "They take the [audio] stems that we gave them, and they put them through their 12,000 watts of digital surround sound, and it’s a totally uncompressed experience." Sound, as it turns out, is key to Spielberg's IMAX vision: "You kind of feel the sound in your chest, like when the boulder is rolling, chasing Indy through the cave. You really feel the boulder in your stomach, the way you do when a marching band passes b

PARANORMAN Review. Was It Worth The Wait?

PARANORMAN Review By: RAMA Let's find out what RAMA thought of the film. From the makers of Coraline, that oughtta tell you that LAIKA is not really in the business of making adorable children’s movies, which makes one wonder why PARANORMAN was not released during Halloween season. This film works for the most part, the humor is funny, and when it comes to stop motion animation, the talented folks at Laika know what they’re doing. Though I’m not an expert, I’ve always had utmost respect for this medium of bringing a story and characters to life, one frame at a time, it takes patience, considering that it really did take about 2 years to make this film. The filmmakers behind this story have always imagined PARANORMAN as Scooby-Doo meets The Goonies, I say they’ve succeeded. But for all its charms and whimsy, and themes of not letting your fear change who you are, PARANORMAN doesn’t stay consistent. It’s about a boy who sees ghost but halfway through the end, his ghost-seein

BALLSY Review For The Expendables 2

The Expendables 2 Review By: RAMA So did RAMA think this movie was BALLSY Enough? Track ‘em, find ‘em, kill ‘em! Shoot somethin’! THE EXPENDABLES is insanely awesome! Nothing like an old skool action and this is one of the best sequels for us old skool action fans everywhere. At times, it’s a hot mess but one that I wouldn’t mind watching again and again, because this is definitely NOT for those who complain that it’s just impossible that the good guys barely make it without a single scratch. This is NOT for those who complain how one man can beat an army, this is NOT for those who complain that the plot is too thin or the characters are predictable or the dialogue is cheesy. THE EXPENDABLES 2 is for those of us who want to see some R-rated badassery, that’s exactly what the film offers and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Arnold, Bruce, Van Damme, Norris, and Sly: 5 of the most iconic action stars of all time, battling it out, can’t get any better than that. Rock ‘em sock ‘em

The Expendables 2 Hollywood Premiere Images

Here are some images from the Hollywood premiere of The Expendables 2 from last night. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that's not

He's Back. The Trailer For The Last Stand

He's back in a starring role for his first film since he went into office. The Last Stand finds Arnie as former LAPD narcotics officer Ray Owens, who left his old life under a cloud of remorse and regret after a bungled operation resulted in several dead cops. He’s since settled into a relatively quiet life as the sheriff of sleepy border town Summerton Junction. But then his peace and tranquillity is shattered when notorious drug kingpin Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) breaks free from an FBI prisoner transport and heads for the Mexican border at top speed. He’s got a heavily armed bunch of mercenaries, a specially-outfitted Corvette and a hostage. So the scene is set for a stand-off in Summerton between Cortez and the massed US law enforcement team, led by Forest Whitaker's Agent John Bannister, is waiting. Owens is at first counted out because of his background and his seemingly low-rent team (including Luis Guzman and Johnny Knoxville), but soon rallies his troo
