Having recruited Alan Rickman to play CBGB founder Hilly Kristal in his film about the rise of the legendary New York music venue, director Randall Miller is adding to the line-up, bringing in Malin Akerman, Rupert Grint, Stana Katic, Joel David Moore, Julian Acosta, Richard De Klerk, Josh Zuckerman, John Holstrom, Ryan Hurst and Estelle Harris . Akerman is taking on possibly the most famous name, since she’ll be playing Debbie Harry , lead singer of Blondie and one of the most successful talents to get their start at the club. Though right up there in terms of fame is Johnny Ramone, played by Acosta, with Moore as co-Ramone Joey. Grint, meanwhile, will be Cheetah Chrome, the Dead Boys’ guitarist and part of the punk movement that was a big part of CBGB’s historic rise. Lifetime is in the early stages of developing Clarice , a drama based on the Clarice Starling character that earned The Silence of the Lambs star Jodie Foster an Academy Award for best actress. Clarice would follow the exploits of a young Clarice Starling soon after she graduates from the FBI academy. The show's development comes as NBC preps the 13-episode series Hannibal , which also takes place in the world of author Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter series of books. But Hannibal, from Bryan Fuller, won't include the Clarice character, and instead focuses on the relationship between Hannibal and FBI criminal profiler Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy). MGM is producing Clarice, which Lifetime boss Nancy Dubuc first hinted may be in the works during the network's upfront presentation. With so many questions surrounding the 2012 Hollywood summer film lineup, you might forget about one of the most intriguing: Can a film franchise, without a major contribution in 10 years and a poorly received second effort, become relevant again? If recent examples (such as Indiana Jones and Rocky) are any indication, filmgoers are in for another disappointment. In fact, resurrecting the Men in Black franchise is not something one would bank on as a surefire hit. The franchise is not even in the top 25, with the Home Alone and Alvin & The Chipmunks series beating MIB by $100 million or more. So, is Men in Black 3 a rousing return for the boys in black, or is the 10-year gap too long to sustain this franchise? Emily Browning is in talks to star in Catherine Hardwicke's " Plush ." Hardwicke, who's also producing, will helm from a script she co-wrote with Artie Nelson. Story follows a psychic psychologist who delves into the minds of patients and sees their memories in order to help them unleash past demons.
